Neighbors’ complaints led to investigation into Lynn’s Massage.
A Thursday night search of a north Columbia massage parlor housed in a plain-looking red brick house turned up evidence of prostitution and led to four arrests, Columbia police said.
Police arrested xxxx, the owner of Lynn’s Massage, located at 3215 Range Line St., on suspicion of second-degree promoting prostitution at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday.
Two employees of the massage parlor were arrested on suspicion of prostitution, and another woman was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.
Columbia Police Capt. Brad Nelson [Known for giving long, lingering "full Nelsons" to fellow male officers] said police have received several complaints in the past few years from residents who suspected prostitution at the house and other massage parlors.
“We’d like to put on notice businessesssss that are engaging in ssssssimilar activitiesssss,” Nelson lisped. “They may be sssssubject to the ssssame responsssssse.”
After receiving a detailed complaint two to three months ago, Nelson said, officers began watching the business. [Which was difficult, because the whole time they had to watch over their back for Captain Nelssssson] They gathered enough evidence for the department to apply for a search warrant to look for evidence of prostitution.
Two men inside the house that Nelson described as customers gave police additional information about the massage parlor, Nelson said. They were not arrested. [But were buttfucked by Nelson and, quite arguably, deserved it for spilling the beans like cowards]
xxxx, 57, was released from Boone County Jail on Thursday after posting $4,500 bond. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
xxxxx, 19, of Paris, Mo., and xxxx, 21, of Columbia, both employees of Lynn’s Massage, were arrested on suspicion of prostitution, Nelson said. xxxx and xxx were released from Boone County Jail on Friday after posting $500 bond each. If convicted, each woman faces from 30 days to six months in jail.
Police also arrested xxx, 33, of Columbia, on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance. She came into the business while police were there on Thursday. Nelson said he did not believe xxxx was an employee of the massage parlor. She was in possession of cocaine, he said. xxx was released from Boone County Jail on Friday after posting $4,500 bond. She faces up to 10 years in prison.
There were no cars in the massage parlor’s parking lot Friday night. A piece of paper taped to a window beside the front door said the business was closed.
xxx also owns Peppers Night Club, at 4515 N. Highway 763, and The Answer Salon and Day Spa, at 815 Blue Ridge Road. The businesses are located within a couple of blocks of Lynn’s Massage.
Calls to xxx on Friday and Saturday went unanswered. [The three women arrested] did not have working telephone numbers and could not be reached for comment.
Police also found four video poker machines, which are considered illegal gambling machines, at the massage parlor, Nelson said.
The business’s Web site advertised it as “The Businessman’s Professional Stop in Columbia,” and described the massage parlor as “discreet” and “confidential.” The site said Lynn’s Massage offered “nude models” and “fantasy showers.” It directed patrons to ask about its “businessman special fantasy.”
Lynn’s Massage was one of several mid-Missouri businesses listed on a Web site on which users have posted experiences they had with prostitutes.

The Columbia Police Department is reviewing financial records of Lynn’s Massage, Nelson said. He said police were still investigating the business and that additional charges on the women arrested Thursday may result from that investigation.

Boone County sheriff’s deputies arrested four people, including a husband and wife, and seized money, documents and condoms packaged in bulk from a massage parlor on North Missouri 763 on Saturday after nearby residents claimed that prostitution was going on at the business.
Boone County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at VIP Sauna, 5210 N. Missouri 763, about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Deputies said the search warrant was the result of several complaints alleging prostitution at the massage parlor.
Deputies arrested [Korean name], 44, and [name], 45, on suspicion of second-degree promoting prostitution and [Korean name], 44, and [Korean name], 33, on suspicion of prostitution. XXX, of Columbia, and xxx, of Flushing, N.Y., were released on $500 bond Sunday. xxxx, of Columbia, and xxx, of Catonsville, Md., were released on $4,500 bond.
Detective Clark Luntsford of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said xxxx, who have been married for about a year, bought the sauna in June. He said xxxx flew into Missouri from Maryland about once a month to see his wife and check on the business. Luntsford declined to comment on whether deputies were investigating a financial connection between prostitution in New York and Columbia.
“Two of the people who were arrested are from New York,” Luntsford said. “I’ll leave it at that.”

Luntsford said the Sheriff’s Department report on VIP Sauna would be forwarded to federal authorities.

“We always kept intelligence on them, but we didn’t hit them until we stumbled upon a way to get in,” Luntsford said. He declined to say how authorities infiltrated the massage parlor, but said deputies did not engage in any undercover work. Luntsford said the investigation at VIP Sauna is ongoing.
Columbia police received a complaint against VIP Sauna in March. The person who complained, the business’s landlord, alleged that prostitution was going on at the sauna.
“The landlord was scared for her safety,” Columbia police Capt. Zim Schwartze said in an earlier interview.

No one was arrested and no charges were filed in connection with the complaint, Schwartze said in August. Luntsford said the unidentified landlord was not one of the people who complained in the Sheriff’s Department’s investigation.
Luntsford said investigators discovered that customers would knock on the door at the sauna and be led into a room by somebody at the spa. Customers paid $40 for a half-hour or $60 for an hour as a “house fee,” Luntsford said. They would then negotiate for services, including sex, by offering “tips,” Luntsford said. In 2002, deputies arrested xxx, 52, from VIP Massage Parlor on suspicion of promoting prostitution after deputies seized financial records, a large supply of condoms, a video surveillance system, pornographic material, $200 and customer credit card receipts from the parlor. Ha pleaded guilty to attempted prostitution, a class C misdemeanor and paid a $300 fine.
“Federal agents seized the property and all of the assets in 2002,” Luntsford said. “We think the same organization that owned it then bought it back.”
Luntsford said that the sauna is under new ownership and that xxxx has no financial connection to VIP Sauna.
“Once they get in some kind of legal trouble, they kind of disappear,” Luntsford said.
VIP Sauna is the only massage parlor in Boone County.

Here is some info given to me as of August 29th, 2005. Independence Ave. Prostitutes can be found on Independence Ave. (Hwy 24) from downtown east to I-435. Mostly white girls, many can be found around motels in the area. Be careful of stings because police have been watching this area and some of the walkers may be undercover cops. Information current as of early August, 2004. As I posted, previously, police made some busts in July at the Hong Kong Spa on East Kearney Street. However, that spa is reportedly still open even while police "work with the state" to shut down the spa. Police have now gone after the Smile Sauna on North Glenstone Avenue, north of I-44. This place has been open on and off for decades and has been busted many times for prostitution. It always opens under new owners. If you go to Smile Sauna, be careful where you park and do not litter or be noisy, since that is what is driving the complaints of the neighbors, and it is the complaints of the neighbors that motivate the police investigations.
