Late July, 2005, Liquor license renewal recommended for Glo Worm. Wednesday brought another vote of confidence, for the continued operation of the Glo Worm Strip Club in South Bend. While that means efforts to shut the club down failed, at the same time, those efforts did gain some ground. The vote before the local Alcohol Tobacco Commission Wednesday was two to one to recommend that the liquor license be renewed. Just seven months ago, the same board voted unanimously to renew the bar's license. “I don't know how many people it needs to take or another person that needs to die, to stop this,” said Lynn. On Wednesday, Lynn spoke out against strip bars, although she used to earn a living, dancing in them. That is, until her husband at the time lost his life outside Teasers strip bar in April of 2002, he was shot to death, trying to break up a fight that started in the bar, and spilled outside. “I mean I think it's a sneaky way to go about drugs and prostitution is inside a club, stick inside a club and you don't get busted? Prostitutes on the streets... they're busted everyday,” said Lynn. But there was a bust at the Glo Worm in March of 2004, and just recently a long time employee of the club pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution. That was enough for one member of the local liquor board to vote against the club's license renewal. “So I just find it hard to believe that the permitee, in this case, would have a long time employee, who one time, the one and only time, was caught promoting prostitution, and unknown to the permittee, to boot, I just don't buy it,” said Curt Wooley, St. Joseph County Alcohol Tobacco Commission. While the Glo Worm was fined for the infraction, the wrongdoing wasn't enough to warrant the loss of its license. “Mrs. Colley and her establishments are being watched, if they're back here with violations, she'll have trouble, but I find no basis right now on what we've been presented,” said Robert Urbanski, St. Joseph County Alcohol Tobacco Commission. Of course, Wednesday’s vote is just a recommendation for renewal; it now goes downstate for further action. The two bars mentioned, Teasers, the sight of the shooting, and Glo Worm, the site of the prostitution charge, are both owned by the same person.

Well Elkhart is "shut down" again. Both places, CR #6 & Utopia on Rt #19 just North of the toll road is closed. Neither place was very good when they were open but it is sad to see the "Bible Thumpers" are winning the war to jam their morals down our throat. I guess Ft Wayne is the nearest place to go. Info current as of late July, 2004. At that time, local South Bend businessmen were wanting to shut down the strip clubs along South Mich igan Street in South Bend by trying to stop renewal of their liquor licenses. They were even trying to get one of their own on the Alcohol Board. If they didn't want strip clubs, really, they shouldn't pick such an obscene name for their town. HELLO! With the then-recent closure of the Kitty Kat lounge for promotion of prostitution, four strip bars remain on South Michigan and are as follows. The Torch, Peaches, the Glo Worm and Teasers. (Oh. Oh. It's a hard choice but...I'll take PEACHES) Police arrested a woman at the Glo Worm on March 17 on two felony charges of promoting prostitution and misdemeanor charges of public indecency and prostitution.(Wait. I changed my mind. Glo Worm)

Elkhart is closed. I went to both of the MP's (cr6) & (RT19)and both are closed up. If there are any more in this area please post info.
