I just had to write this after reading the recent reviews on Tijuana. I can't believe what I read! Unless you are the law trying to scare people, you are so off base it's laughable.

I live in California and have been going to TJ for 30 years now and NEVER I mean NEVER have I had a single problem that caused me alarm. Only once have I even been stopped and that was just before walking back to the US. A few years ago I had a friend with me and he was drunk. A Mexican cop stopped us and asked us to empty our pockets saying he was looking for drugs. We did as he asked and he let us go without robbing us. The funny thing is on this day I did go across the border earlier in the day to score some Vicodine (successfully) I might add, but went back to my car on the US side to put them away, later to return.

Anon I have read and appreciated and trusted your reviews on the many places you've been to and frankly I am surprised you wrote what you did. I had always thought you were an adventurous guy. I agree I wouldn’t drive into TJ for fear of my car being jacked. You do hear the stories. I park on the US side and walk over the bridge.

If you go straight through the turn gates you will find the main cab stand. I turn right before entering these gates and go to the street for the cheaper cabs. The cab ride is $7 and I always go to “Zona Roja” to Adlitas or Chicago Club.

There are many positive reviews on WSG about these clubs. I have tried many others clubs as well as picking up girls on the street. I like Adalitas for a couple of reasons. The club I’ve been told is owned by the TJ Chief of Police and he has TJ cops manning the doors to keep the rift raft & under age kids out. I’ve had experiences where beggars approached the cab as I was getting out but the cops swooped down on them and apologized to me for the inconvenience.

The club is full of HOT and I mean HOT Chicas any time of the day or night. The hotel attached to the club is clean and the sheets are changed between customers. You are given a towel, condom and soap if you want to shower before or after your party. I’m guessing (honestly) that I’ve been to these two clubs 1,000 times over the years. I can count on one hand the number of times I left a little dissatisfied. More than none I’ve gone home in love. Chicago is just like Adalitas only not as many girls. You can’t beat the price $60 for ½ and hour & $120 for an hour and I mean an hour (plus the room charge) Never do they look at the clock; there isn’t even a clock in the room. Your time is up when the guy knocks on the door.

Many times I’ve enjoyed myself so much I’ve paid for additional time and stayed in the room while the girl deals with the money. The only down side is I can never find the same girls twice. They come from all over Mexico, work for a few weeks and go home with a pocket full of money.

She told me she could work in TJ for a month and make enough to pay for a year of school I’ve walked around the block to try some of the girls on the street but my experience with these girls has me going back to the two clubs mentioned. It is very controlled.

Think about it guys, this is a cash cow. Prostitution is not legal in Mexico but tolerated and supported in the “Zona Roja” (Red Zone) We bring them a ton of money. Go there on the weekends (to crowed for me) and tell me how many sailors you see coming from San Diego.

Don’t you think it’s in their best interest to see smiles on their faces rather than nasty frowns? The girls are required to have medical exams and carry medical cards to prove they are clean. The girls at these two clubs even have to pay to work there and are required to hustle 20 drinks per night. I have seen mostly the older girls hustle me for drinks but they leave if you say no thanks. I have no problem paying the inflated drink price ($10) for the girl as it gives me a chance to sit and play with her to make sure I like her and that her tits are real.

Hong kong had no action until late nite, even then it was confusing because it shared the building with Club Miami which was a conservative dance club. They started changing a couple of years ago by bringing hot ladies during the day, dancing on the bar and private shows.

Recently I went on both Sunday and Monday 1pm till 5pm and had the time of my life with no hassle from the TJ policia, because I left before nitefall. The club is twice the size it used to be, an entrance is now open next door to Adelitas, Beautiful, gorgeous women are available, you get to see them naked before going to a room, unlike Chicago,and Adelita's, where you take the chance of a big surprise once the clothes come off. I’ve read reviews on Tijuana and it helped me what to expect there. So I decided to give my contribution. Day times its safer, stay on maid roads. Can be in single but helps if you r in twos. Just spent the weekend in TJ, its exactly the way I remember it. A shit-hole is always a shit-hole, but whatever, where here to talk about snatch anyway. A recent report mentioned bar-hopping down on Revolution. The final stop where the contributor found happiness was at Purple Rain. Assuming that this was at night and not broad daylight, luck was with these guys; the area by P.R. is one of the most crime ridden areas in the city. It's one thing to be ripped off by the TJ police at the border, but in this area you have a good chance of not only losing all your money, but getting the crap beat out of you just because you are a gringo. I was taken there once by a cabbie who gave me the line that Adelita's was being raided but he knew of a place even better. Yup! Purple Rain.

My experience was 180 degrees different that the other poster but I took my lumps and just as I was ready to leave, the female manager explained about the neighborhood. "If it's light outside and you come by cab, that's ok. But gringos coming here at night is very bad. You may not make it from your cab to the door (about 50') without having "trouble". Congrats on being a couple of lucky guys. But I've heard this same story from a half-dozen people, one of whom suffered bodily injuries and lost every cent he had. This guy said the manager felt sorry enough that she gave him the $5 for cab fare to the border. Walking could well have meant a chance to float in the smelly river.

I went on a Saturday and was hardly in the mood to deal with the whole Schpeel at Adelita's or Chicago Club. We hit some lesser known spots. First up, Amnesia a lot of people have asked about this. The setup is like a strip joint and they ask you to pay a small cover (it can be waived). The dudes at the door are pushy and whole transaction turned me off. Girls were decent, maybe 25 working between 3-8 looks-wise. We jetted to Mermaids, another real pushy fucker running the show and few girls working.

It looks cleaner than most but again this was a bit of a bust between limited selection and bad arrangement. If you are drunk, give them attitude, or have any contraband on you are in trouble and will have to pay to get out of it. Viagra and other ED drugs are illegal to have in your possession. Even though you can get them over the counter, it is technically illegal, so don't carry that stuff around.

Forth, if you ask a taxi to take you to Adelita Bar and he says it’s closed or gives you some other bullshit excuse and tries to get you to go somewhere else, tell him you are going to meet some friends there. They get commissions from other places to get you to there instead of AB, CC, or HK. If you must, take another taxi. Stay in La Zona Norte, the whoring district. Don’t go to the outskirts and uncrowded areas.

Fifth, do not, and I repeat do not go to any of the bars on Revolution Ave. They are rip off joints from the bartenders to the girls. You will be lucky to get change back for your beer; no matter what denomination you give them. These are the problems to avoid. That being said, I have had great times there and banged the shit out of many beautiful chicas for a fraction of what it would cost here in the states. I’m saying to be careful, keep you wits about yourself, don’t get ripping drunk and be an asshole and you’ll have a great time.
