Court says ‘No’ to pimp’s plea for clemency--late December, 2005
ABU DHABI — The Supreme Federal Court has upheld the verdicts of the lower court and the Court of appeal, sentencing a man to three years in jail for pimping. His petition for clemency was turned down by the court.
According to the case history, the Public Prosecution has charged Mohammed xxxx with letting a woman live with him and prodding her into prostitution. He was referred to Al Ain Criminal Court, which found him guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison.
The defendant appealed at the Abu Dhabi Shariah Law Court, Al Ain Department, but they later upheld the lower court’s verdict.
The convict contested the ruling at the Supreme Federal Court arguing that the lower court had wrongly concluded that he had confessed to the crime. In his petition, the defendant said he had not confessed that the woman was working with him or under his control.
The apex court did not accept his argument on the ground that the confessions of the accused at any stage of interrogation or trial is considered proof against him.
The court further said that the defendant, when interrogated, had admitted to the charges saying that he had turned his house located inside a farm into a brothel. He was abetted in his crime by a man called Abdullah, who brought women to the house.
The Supreme Court had rejected the claims of the defendant that he should not be charged with exploiting the woman by prodding her into sex work as well as for opening a brothel, since both were one single crime and not two, and therefore, he deserved punishment for one crime. The court dismissed this claim as well.
Subsequently, the apex court upheld the verdict by the two lower courts.

I've been reading these reports for quite sometimes and I'm surprised that no one had mentioned a name of a realy good bar in terms of the quality of the girls or the ambience. The bar is called The Rattle Snake and it is located at the Metropolitan Hotel on Abu Dhabi Road or what we call Sheik Zayed Road (bear in mind there are three Metropolitan hotels in Dubai).
Having lived in the UAE for many years I have good experience with these places. I like this bar for several reasons, first the women there are quite good looking (7-9), the music is just perfect with live band - not too loud and tends to be more Western oriented which I prefer, last and most important is the patrons are mostly westerners and that tends to bring up the standard a bit more than other places like the Cyclones or even worse the Imperial Suites. Check it out, you won't regret it.
