I cannot recommend any specific place within the many city centers of that highly urbanized region. Places in the centers are those where ""everybody"" goes, and that also means that there is a good chance to get ripped off (although you might have a good experience as well, but it is up to you if you want to take such a risk), especially, when you prove to be a tourist by your accent or behaviour (not meant discriminatory, but certain things are done in a different way, according where people are from, that's it) - because in such a case you are not considered to become ""frequent customer"". Also, the relevant girl might be changing places to often, so she will never have any frequent customers.
A first tip: Wherever you go, tell the girl, who might like to ""get you known"", that you will be travelling to the Rhine-Ruhr area quite often. Those clubs might be the best places for having a good time in a (most times) well cultivated atmosphere. Good clubs are well known for their adequate, but not cheap pricing. Some words about the legal situation:
Visiting a ""serious"" club means no legal risk to you at all !
If you travel to the Rhine-Ruhr area from abroad, it might be useful to know that prostitution (except several forms of their exploitation) and visiting prostitutes are absolutely legal in Germany, although you usually should not talk about it to your business partners (grin). A good example might be the ""Rhein-Ruhr Stadtatlas"" map issued by the ADAC (German auto club), which can be bought at almost every gas station for (now) DM 29.80 (US$ 15-20). What might help, too, is that most people speak some English and can help you. The westernmost part of Germany is quite famous for its warm, friendly, and helpful inhabitants (and its rather ""Roman"" lifestyle).
Although Germany is well known for the absence of a general speed limit on its freeways, you always have to remember that most freeways in urban areas have individually displayed speed limits, and severe traffic jams often occurs. Rules of the road and road signs are totally different to those in the US, so you had better inform about them before you leave (ask an Auto Assoc.), and you'd better drive careful and start your trip to a club earlier - right on time.

The club is not very easy to find, because the road system obviously has recently been reconstructed, and some older maps do not match the real situation any more. Usually ""Bundesstrasse"" roads are not freeways and do not provide separately built lanes for each direction, but, nevertheless, have exits and no crossings. Something might have changed there. From Cologne, use the A4 Auotbahn direction Aachen and Belgium, at the ""Kerpen"" intersection change the motorway to the A61 direction ""Venlo, Monchengladbach"" (northbound), and take the second (?) ""Bergheim"" exit; you should see a reference to the B55 road (a ""55"" on yellow ground, the ""B"" is not displayed). Then you turn right (westbound), drive down the B 55, and take the second left - there is a ""Factory"" pictogram and the writing ""Elsdorf"" on the sign. You will reach a roundabout, turn right there, and one of the next roads is Oststrasse - turn left (do not go straight at the roundabout, this is - literally - a ""road to nowhere"").
The visit to the club was incredible. When I rang the door bell, I was greeted by five nude girls, one prettier than the other (although they post so stupid photos on the Internet), and the rules were explained to me (still the same prices, yes, inflation is low). That was a little strange, because the girls posed and made some amused PR to me, the yet unknown visitor. - Before the move

The address is Dortmund, Zur alten Kolonie 14A. Dortmund is a big city on the eastern edge of the Rhine-Ruhr area. The club is located in a light industrial area near the small airport in the suburb Holzwickede. Coming from the west, drive down the A 40 eastbound, it leads into an urban quasi-freeway road (B 1), which quickly leads you through the city, to, then, develop to another ""real"" freeway (A 44). Take the airport exit (no. 51, Dortmund-Holzwickede). Coming from the east or from the A 1, go to the Dortmund/Unna junction (no. 84 on the A1, no. 52 on the A 44), take the freeway A 44 to the west (direction Dortmund, Bochum and Essen), then take the exit Dortmund-Wickede (no. 51).
Having left the freeway, turn to the north (airport direction), then take the next road (of course not the other freeway entrance), Wilhelmstrasse, right, and you will enter the industrial area. The next small road on the left is ""Zur alten Kolonie"". Drive it to the (dead) end, performing a right turn following the road. You will see house no. 14A on the left and can park your car at one of the lots right before it.
- How it works
It happened a while ago.
