Tonight I decided to try to verify the current validity of older reports from last year and I am pleased to report that (and take this from an experienced "hobbyist") Costa Rica is without a doubt the easiest place in the civilized world to get laid by beautiful women.

I started out around 9:30 p.m. by briefly checking in at the Hotel del Rey just to see what was going on (by the way, references to the Blue Marlin Bar in other WSG reports refer to the bar in the Hotel Del Rey ... it's the same place, just a different part). Even at 9:30 on a Thursday the place was literally packed with over 100 decent looking girls, most in the 7 to 9 range. Unless you are staunchly committed to nothing but blue-eyed blondes, every size, shape and hair color you could want was available. By 1:00 a.m. there were easily over 200 wandering throughout the bar and casino. Around 9:45 I sauntered up to a petite hottie who introduced herself as Kathy ... about 25 years old give or take a year and definitely 9 pretty.

After some brief conversation she offered to go to a nearby motel where the room would be $25 or an hour and she would be $100 ... which seems to be the going rate at the Del Rey and Jaco these days (I'll be checking out Jaco tomorrow). But the motel was full, and honestly I didn't feel like dropping $100 for only an hour with a girl before I had a chance to corroborate the old report on Club Arcadas, just 2 blocks south of the Flamingo Club (any taxi driver will know where that is) ... which turned out to be 100% TRUE with only minor variances.

As far as I can tell, Club Arcardas is the cheapest, easiest place in San Jose to get decent, no-haggle, no-hassle sex. I went there at 10:00 p.m. and the place was nearly dead except for the 15 or so bikini clad girls (mostly in their 20's ranging mostly between 6 to 8, with a couple of 8.5's) lounging around waiting to dance on the club's small stage. The nominal cover charge of 1,800 colones (less than $5) includes a beer. Shots of tequila were 1,000 colones (about $2) but 2,500 colones ($5.50) if you buy it for one of the girls. Just be aware of that ... it can add up if you're not paying attention.

I sat down next to a pretty brunette who called herself Graziella and offered to buy her a drink, which she accepted. I left my change of 800 colones (slightly less than $2) on the bar while I went to the bathroom to see what would happen ... and yes, it was gone when I came back 90 seconds later. Everything written about girls who steal I am sure now is true. Expect it and be carfeul.

I thanked Graziella for confirming my suspicions and moved on. Outside I spoke with the bouncer and a local taxi driver who told me it would be livelier ater midnight. The cabbie, a nice guy who went by the name Gerald (pronounced like Herald) explained in response to my question that 8,000 paid to the bartender would buy a half hour of sex with any of the girls.

GUYS!! THAT'S ABOUT $17.50!!!! NO JOKE, IT'S ABSOLUTELY TRUE. 15,000 colones will get you an hour, but why bother? If you're looking for acceptable quality at an amazing price, Arcadas is PUSSY MECCA!! Between the $2 tequila shots and the $17 babes, you can drink and fuck all night long for less than the cost of one hour with one of the girls from the Del Rey! In all fairness, it's not as glamourous, but it's just as pink!

I went back around midnight and Gerald gave me a tour, for which I gladly offered him a 2,000 colones tip. The upstairs of the club has several spartan but clean and entirely adequate bedrooms. Your 8,000 colones will include the girl and the room. Just tell any girl who catches your fancy that you'd like to go to a room with her. THAT'S IT!

She'll take you to the bartender, who will collect your 8,000 colones. Upstairs, when she checks into the room, the upstairs bartender will issue towels and a condom to her. Go into the room with her and swing away!

I did this with a cute little Nicaraguan girls who was calling herself Wendy (yeah, right ... like that's a real Nicaraguan name!) ... and I'll tell you I was impressed with her level of enthusiasm for whatever her share of that $17.50 is. For that half hour she fucked me in every position I could think of, became incredibly wet, and kept grinding away on me after I came until she moaned her way to a climax. The most recent review seems to be from May of '04, so this is just to let everybody know that it's still busines as usual in San Jose. Everything said about the Hotel Del Rey appears to be unequivocally true!

First of all, it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to walk in there on any given evening without encountering upward of 50 girls just hanging out very obviously looking for some action. The quality is actually pretty good, ranging from a lof of about 6 to a high of about 8.5 to 9 ... and this was on a Wednesday. They say the quantity and quality go up on the weekends ... I'll have to go head back there this weekend to update this report! It took me only a few passes through the place before I encountered a really pretty petite Tica named Sandra who didn't take very long to offer to spend the night with me fo $300. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY $300!

She was pretty sweet, so I countered with $150 before we settled on $200. I probably could have forced the issue for $150, but she was a hot little thing and I wanted her full enthusiasm for what was to be a long and satisfying Cialis-enhanced night. (By the way ... that shit is really GOOD, especially for a guy who doesn't really need it -- one pill and you're Johnny-Up-And-At-'Em all weekend long! And no noticeable side effects as far I could tell).

The best thing is a half hour of sex in a liitle room is $6,000 Colones.

My girl said she didn't swallow, 15 minutes later she lost her gag reflex, and gained her appetite for an extra $10. The name of the place is Molina Roja.

The next place I would highly frecommend is called Tango India, a great titbar with a huge airplane hanging from the ceiling of this old warehouse. I went up to one of the VIP rooms and there was 1 guy in there, standing on a couch buck naked getting head from 2 naked chics, most of the girls were pretty nice and it seemed like the place was run well. This comes from a a man who has run tit bars for 30 years. The last place is a low ceilng titbar that specializes in dirt cheap grinding lap dances and from what I hear blowjobs in special areas. They also have periodic girl-on-girl shows. The name is D'epulva or something like that, they also have a larger newer version I will report on later. Most of these places are filled with locals.

The Blue Marlin Bar, downstairs at the Del Rey, is unreal. The bottom floor of the hotel is the lobby, travel agency, resturaunt, casio, and bar. No woman can enter the Del Rey without proper ID and being over 18! Women for hire is legal, and there are no problems, just make darn sure they are over 18. On the Friday night of the week I was there, there were an estimated 250-300 women in the bar/casino. Most around 21-26, 6-8 on the scale, and ready to please. They will all ask for $100 US, don't pay that, at least not up front. $60-$80 is more like it. Food at the Del Rey is good, but expensive by there standards, most meals $8-12 US with tip.

Down the road, you will get the same quality for half the price. Try Fairo's (1/2 block west of the Del Rey) and La Criositta (2 blocks north of the Del Rey). Watch out for your wallet. Never keeep more than $100 in it, and carry Colones, not dollars. Dollars mark you as a gullible tourist. Keep your wallet in your front pocket & keep your hand over it. Watch out for the strip clubs. I was warned. If you take a taxi there, the strip club will pay them $20. They make your bill unbelievably high. In the $1000++ range. Pay for everything at a club or bar when it comes, do not run a tab!

The Del Rey, as other hotels, has a safe in the room. USE IT! It would fit my digital camera, case, MP3 player, wallet, ect. but might be tight for a laptop. Change your passcode daily, especially if a tica came to your room. Make friends with the hotel staff. Be nice, tip well, shake hands, etc. Ask questions before you go somewhere. They will keep you out of harms way. I found I could trust them.

Pack light. Clothes and essentials (plus condoms) only. About everything else can be bought there for cheaper than the US. Also, bring little trinkets for the women, they love it. Last few things, on the weekends, the Park Hotel has a lesbian sex show right on the bar for $17 and gives away 3 BJs with the girl of your choice. It is worth going, but the place is kind of a dive. Bring antibiotic hand lotion with you everywhere you go and use it often. You are in a 2nd or 3rd world country. Lastly, go on the tours, the canopy tour and Tobacan Springs are great trips. Finally, remember when you buy something, almost all prices are negotiable IF you will pay cash. And, DO NOT trust people you meet on the street.

Long story short, I met an American guy, 19, from Sarasota, FL when walking around. Said he worked as a tour guide, but was off for the day. He showed me around and showed me where to buy cigars. I offered to buy him dinner to thank him. He asked if I had US dollars or Collones. I told him Collones and was informed that the resturants in the area where we were local and would want collones. After some hesitation, I followed him to his apartment to exchange the money at the manager's office. Big mistake. Long story short, it was a full fledged Crack House and they locked the gate so I could not leave. I bribed them $20 to open the gate, but they would not. I threw a fit and told them I would have GW Bush send a laser guided bomb there way. They let me out!

A few days later I met a San Jose police officer and told her. The police are all over, many undercover. They will help you. I found this out first hand. My ex-friend and his cronies are going to enjoy their stay behind a different set of bars.

Before 3 PM on the day of my arrival I found myself in puta central, the Blue Marlin. Out numbered 20 Tica's for every gringo it was overwelhming. I visited different time of day each day of my 5 day stay in San Jose before proceeding to Jaco. Saw only one chica that everyone was hot to ride. Saw only one girl I would consider a perfect 10. I didn't get a chance with either, so I can't tell you what the big deal was about. The 5 to 7 range putas did a lot of cock blocking and drink hustling so it was hard to get to the good stuff. For me, the Blue Marlin was OK, but had all the ear marks of a first class TOURIST TRAP! I moved on.

Met Betsy the "owner" of Nashville South several days, who recounted the glory days before the policia cleaned up Park Morazon and all the Nica's and Colombians were deported for improper papers. Speaking of improper papers, I'll relate here my "brush" with the law in San Jose. I had made 3 copies of my passport and carried one in my pocket my entire stay. That is, except for the first day, when, while exchanging money in my room safe, I inadvertantly left the copy with my wallet! Oops. As luck would have it I wandered into New Fantasy that afternoon.

Again taking advice found here I requested Jennifer as my consort and master of therapy. Jefe Ms. A. was duely impressed arranging it with payment of 40usd ,off we went. Fisrt stop, Jennifers room to undress. The hotel card keys are a nice touch. Jennifer put fresh a fresh sheet on the bed and we were off to the vapors (steam) where she gave me massaje, walked on my back (great) and very specifically rubbed me the right way. Then, off to the showers for a good cleaning with soap all round and rinse. Ahhhh, life is good (pura vida as they say). Joe wanted to take in the baby oil show at the Park Hotel. I nearly joined him but opted for other plans that Friday evening. By chance I ran into Joe again on Saturday at El Pueblo. He said he left before the lockdown because the puta's were totally unappealing and he didn't want to see anybody munchin that carpet. The day came all to soon, I had to move on to Jaco Beach. Sad to leave all those pretty girls in IDEM unfuct, I made tracks for the Pacific. While this was an exploratory adenture, and I did gather as much free info as I could from the web (great stuff by the way thanks to all who contributed) I still made mistakes with my accomodations, I stayed at the Best Western in Jaco. I arrived in town checked into the Del Rey. After exchanging money I checked out my suite it was Ok! $135 per night pricey but I wanted there best. It was 2pm and headed to Fantasy Massage to check that out..hooked up with a girl named Tonie who was a solid 8 with a great ass.

~~This time I stayed at Hotel Morazan, 1 block from the Rey. It was cheaper, $45/night, and supposed to have free guests, as I was told by the email people. It ended up costing $5 per guest (I bitched while checking out but they did not budge), but they were nice as when the girl left they called up and asked how it went, so I give them a+ for follow up. A couple times b/t my friend and me we sent girls back, and I don't think we were charged as some girls try to up price you once in room, F that, send them packing. More where that came from.~~~~

~~The first night I selected a hot Columbian babe who accepted 25000 colones (about $65) - don't ever accept the first amount the girls ask for at Blue Marlin, most will bargain down to as low as half. You are just creating unnecessary inflation for the rest of us! ~~

~~On the second night I wound up with a Tica, blond about 25 years old. She also accepted the 25000 colone offer. ~~

~~Finally on the final night I paid a visit to Idem and selected a Nicoraguan, slim, tall and with a good personality. Idem is a real bargain, they ask for a mere 16000 colones (about $40) for an hour with a babe in the rooms upstairs, I was lucky because the rooms upstairs were all busy so I ended up in the downstairs room which is nicer for the same price (usually 2000 colones more).~~

~~Ok. I travelled to San Jose, C.R. on 13 November and got there about 2:30. Customs is a breeze. I filled out my ppw and went right through. I went out to find a taxi, which are abundant and asked for "un taxi por solo", as one of the reports said. This way, you get your own taxi and not stuffed in with 5 others and dropped of depending on who is closer.~~

Note: Make a reservation before you get there and be sure to find out what the fee is to take a Tica back up to your room. Some place charge you. The El President' merely asks your ho' to sign in at the front desk for "security" and there is no charge. She has to sign out on her way out. This is good in case the bitch rips you off. Every girl must have a sex workers card to enter any bar, club or hotel. Single girls are not allowed in. In other words, it don’t matter how pretty she looks, she is a fucking whore! Every last luscious latina in there is a whore! Cool huh? Anyhow, I heard a lot about the News Cafe bar in the Hotel President. It pretty much sux. A few local ho's stroll in after 4 but they are generally skanky. I mean, I flew all this way with a wad (cash and semen, take your choice), so I am going to do some quality bitches. No average Ticas. I can get that in the States. Also, don't think about kiddies. There are too many legal youngins for that. Plus, they aren’t all over as much as the American Media says. Not that I was lookin', ahem.~~

~~I got settled into my room and went down to the bar about 3:45pm. There were a few gringos that I met and we chatted and I ran into the almost every day someplace or another. Which brings up a good point. Meet and greet as many people as you can because you need to make connections and learn your way around. Many of these ex-pats are losers and liars so watch out for them, they are living in CR for a reason and not a good one! The place is pretty crime free to tourists but act as if you were out at night in NY or LA or DC. Down walk down dark streets and try not to walk alone too much. I did and I was ok. Common sense and alertness are the best tools. ~~

~~Anyhow, I tried to talk to a couple of Ticas and did at the Hotel president bar but I could tell that they were low quality. I got drunk, went up to the room and looked out the window. I heard about the Blue Marlin Bar in the Hotel Key Largo and walked over about two blocks. It was 6pm. There were two or three knockouts. The rest were just fat chicks smiling and lined up against the walls. Got my cock grabbed several times but was ready to drink and kick back first. Please, please enjoy and look around. Don’t run off with the first Tica that says yes. Also, they all ask for $100 here. You CAN and WILL get them for $60-$80 if you say it firmly and walk away or tell them no to $100. This is a small fortune to them, man! MOST of them have at least one kid at home and the others have an abusive asshole boyfriend who drinks their money up and cheats on them (my opinion, not fact). ~~

~~Anyhow, I pulled a Guatelman girl about 45 minutes later. The crowd picks up (women) around 6pm. The club never closes by the way! 24-7, so take it easy and by all means set and adhere to a fucking schedule (literally). She was pretty cute except for the bent Azteca nose. But trust me the T&A was killer. We banged two times and she was out. I went back downstairs for beers and then back to the Blue Marlin for Ticas. I did two sisters for $100 -- yes, for both. I just told them hell no and eventually the came to. I went back at 4am and did one more. This was a Panamanian girl of Asian decent. Decent. Probably the best body I saw of anyone. I peeled off cash from there. That way if a girl took my money or if I got robbed the $ was in my safe. Don’t carry more money than for what you needs dictate. If I was going out for a drink and a fuck. $140 was too much. That was all I stood to lose. The rest was in the safe. Stay out of the strip bars. I was so annoyed with the "mosquitos", that is what I call the hired whores who just want you to buy them $15 drinks, that I fled one joint. I hear the massage parlors are cheap and great but I like the idea of meeting a girl in a bar and taking her out. This doesn’t happen to me in the States every time so it is refreshing. I go in, come out with a hottie. AND, don’t pay until you get them into your room. ~~

~~While I was there each night, I went across the street to the other bar with a dance floor. You'll know where it is. I heard a lot about it. it sucked to high heaven every night. Older, hard looking Ticas in there. I did see a couple of nice blondes but they looked like and acted like they like themselves too much. I would have gotten to them but another "mosquito" was sitting with me and running her hole. I left and went back to the Marlin. The Marlin is an excellent choice for the new and the returner. It is the most consistent of any place there. Sure, the girls and drinks cost more but this is your vacation. Spend. Get a quality girl. If you want to just screw why not go to Tijuana or Juarez. If you go to CR, get quality. There is so much quality that you need to be patient and you will get some.~~

~~Lastly, stay out of the locals (Ticos) joints and the locals strip clubs. I went with the owner of the Park Hotels son to a dozen or more for free. The quality of the girls is very disappointing. And when you are sitting there watching porn movies and girls getting scuzz blown all over their faces and then you look over and see some fat tamale smiling at you, you have two choices: 1) utilize your instinctual urge to flee or 2). drink heavily.~~I hope you choose option 1 and get out. Don’t do a fat chick, please, have some self respect.~~

I have been in the service industry for 30 years and their management,and especially their gorgeous bartenders, and all the rest of their staff are exemplary in their service. I had a problem the last time I was there with a guest that had tagged along and it was handled in the most professional and compassionate manner I could ever imagine. The management makes sure to to weed out the problem people right away to ensure your your pleasant stay.

The last 3 times I went I rarely left the hotel. Prices in October were $60 to $100, let them them know what your wishes are and go from there. Say hello to Keyna and Jessica at the bar and tell them to wear their DK shirts for you. Do not go to Cheetahs it is a total ripoff. If you need to leave the hotel, go from the restaurant to Key Largo and don't go by the park, Bar Idem is a definite high value for low price place, ask for Robert.
