I arrived on a Tuesday all by myself in November. Everything seemed dead in the area. All you can see was mulatto street walkers which I wouldn't of mind if they were pretty. I was staying at the Costal Caribe and if you ever stayed there no woman are allowed unless they are staying there. Yes it sucks. Well, I was new to the area so I had a taxi take me to a place where I can find woman for a 100 pesos he took me over to Cabarette. There I met this gorgeous woman she looked in her 30's but she was in great shape and a wonderful smile came with it. Not knowing that the hotel was sooo strict I brought her back to my room. Once the taxi cab past the gate no question where asked and my room was towards the front of the Hotel. ~~~~We went to my room we both took a shower together we DFK and by surprise she went down on me for BBBJ very nice made me quiver. Once I was hard I put a condom on (guys I advise you take your own condoms the ones in DR are not user friendly and they break not only that they are uncomfortable)I started missionary than turned her over for doggy even with the AC on we where sweating. This is a question, rather than a review, but I need some help. I've been to the D.R. a few times. The sex is great, often free, and even when you pay, not only is it a bargain, it just doesn't feel like you're paying for it. I can recount numerous experiences there. One young middle class professional (government employee -- not what you're thinking) visited me in USA and still, almost a year later calls me. Okay, enough said on this, now the question:~~

~~From my experience…which is, of course, a male perspective…….there is something for everyone in the Dominican Republic. If tourism is the #1 industry in “The D.R.”, prostitution (the exchange of money for sexual services) may well be #2.~~
~~Columbus “discovered” The D.R. in 1492. It took me until the fall of 1999. I ran across a number of Internet Sites including TSM, The World Sex Archives and The World Sex Guide, all of which provided an overview, and “reviews” of The Sex Trade in a variety of countries throughout the world. Boca Chica, Sosua and Santa Domingo in The D.R. were rated very highly for their close proximity to North America, weather, cost and beautiful young women.~~
~~So…I booked an All Inclusive in Sosua. But it wasn’t long before I made some “local connections” with English speaking ex-pats who spend most of the year living in a nearby larger resort town called Puerto Plata. ~~
~~It was an amazing week. So amazing that I returned to Puerto Plata in the spring of 2000 for a TWO week vacation.~~

~~There are High Class, Middle Class and Lower Class Brothels. My favorite High Class Brothel in Puerto Plata is La Boheme. Situated in the centre of town, it resembles a kind of “fortress”. You must walk through two entrances and past two sets of “casual” security before entering the bar area. Once inside, you’ll discover at least 50 women. They appear to be carefully chosen to create a variety of colour, shape, size and aggressiveness.~~
~~The variety and selection are superb, although very commercial.~~~~
~~~~ ~~~~If you allow one of the security people to seat you, a woman will immediately be at your table, sit down and take your….and her….drink order. My suggestion is…. don’t sit ~~down. Remain in “control” by cruising the room. Take your time….but keep moving. All the women will look at you. Some will reach out and touch you. Others will try to get in your way. It’s much like being a running back on a football team. In fact, I prefer to take the El Boheme “tour” with one or two other men, let them lead the way and act as “blocking guards”.~~
~~All the girls live on site. Upon choosing a girl, you’ll be responsible for paying the establishment 300 pesos ($20 US). Then…once in the girl’s room….it’ll cost you another 1000 pesos ($65 US) to even $2000 pesos for some action.~~
~~On my most recent trip in October 2001, La Boheme had been shut down because ownership had been suspected of drug violations. That’s all been straightened out apparently and it will reopen soon. ~~
~~The new “high class” Brothel is Cristal’s in Long Beach. It’s not nearly as much fun to “cruise” as La Boheme was and the selection of women not nearly as good. Rooms are not provided so The Girls must be taken off site….although there seemed to be some “foreplay” activity going on behind a screen at the back of the room. ~~
~~It’s the same procedure in both the “Middle Class” and “Lower Class” Brothels…..but for less cost and in a much Funkier atmosphere. Some have rooms on site, some don’t. All are frequented by Dominican men. I didn’t see many really attractive women in them to my tastes (Dominican men like their women Heavy), but there are occasionally a few gems. White men rarely go to them, so expect an enthusiastic reception.~~

~~There are a number of Strip Clubs in Puerto Plata. The Music is loud. The show terrific. Although the girls don’t usually “hustle” you as they do at The Brothels…..they are, for the most part, all available. Again, you must pay the establishment something….usually 100 pesos ($6.50 US). You then take the girl back to your hotel. If you’re staying at an all-inclusive resort, you won’t be able to take her with you. In that case, I’d suggest one of the “Tourist Villas” such as Sensasion or Neuva York. ~~~~
~~~~ ~~~~These are short-term “motel-style” rooms. Simply hire a cab from the club. Tell the driver which “Villa” you’d like him to take you to….negotiate a price (usually 100 –150 pesos return) to be paid after he returns.~~
~~He’ll drive to the location (both of which are secluded just outside of town) and drive directly into a garage attached to the room. The garage door will close behind you. Tell the driver what time you’d like him to pick you up (you have up to six hours) or get his name and the phone number of the cab company. Go into the room. You’ll find a “dumb waiter” next to the bed. An attendant, who you do not see and does not see you, will take 300 pesos ($20 US) from you for the room and also will sell you liquid refreshment, and even a meal at reasonable prices. The mirrored rooms have an en suite, a large bed and a TV that plays porno. At the end of your “session” pay the girl 500 pesos ($35 US).~~
~~Part two of “Somewhat Conventional” is simply finding a bar. There seem to be hundreds of them. On my October 2001 Trip, quite a few new ones had opened in Long Beach. ~~
~~A good place to start your Long Beach Experience is La Fuente owned by a guy named Frank from Canada. He has a couple of satellite dishes that received all the Sporting Events I cared about. Good food too next door at Ken and Veronica’s. There’s also a “Massage Parlour” down the street. A couple of Germans I met seemed to enjoy that experience.~~

After being laid off from a major Wall Street investment bank I decided to take some time off and spend a week partying it up and getting laid. What better place than Santo Domingo. It was a solo trip, the first time for me. I'm used to traveling with friends or my girlfriend. Let me just say that if you can speak Spanish you will have the time of your life. Being a 29 year old American that can speak Spanish fluently and is considered good looking I practically had to beat women off with a stick. I had the time of my life.

~~My hotel was totally cool with me bringing back girls for the night. It was the Hotel Palacio and it's smack middle in the Zona Colonial. It also had all the basics including phone, TV and a fully stocked bar. I didn't even have to go clubbing to meet girls. The first girl I met was working in a cigar store and after buying 2 boxes I asked her if she had plans for dinner. She said she'd love to have dinner with me and we had a perfectly normal date. Of course we wound up back at my hotel room where I must have fucked her every which way possible. Other places to get laid are the casino bar in the Hotel Jaragua but they're a bit pricey there -- but the women are hot! My favorite place was Remington Palace. It's a club filled with hot sexy women that are mostly college students. I walked in and the ratio of women to men must have been 10:1, the exit fee for the women was $100 but you don't have to give the girls any more cash for the night. Me being nice always made sure they had cab fare to get home. Just be careful not to fall in love. I almost practically did and if I didn't have a serious girlfriend back at home I'm sure I would have imported one of those girls back home with me. In 4 days I had 4 women but one them was named Carolina and she looked a lot like Beyonce Knowles from Destiny's Child -- mega hot. I hung out with her for the last 4 days of my trip and we had the best time ever. I felt bad saying good-bye to her, but what can you do? After reading the numerous "glowing" trip reports on Boca Chica, I finally decided to bite the bullet and went down there in May of 2001 to check it out for myself. While I won't bore you (and me) with my daily activities, this report will be fairly detailed. For those of you looking for a condensed version, scroll down to my summary below, or refer to the post submitted by Slick (added 2001-02-04). His report (save the hotel recommendation) is fairly accurate.
Boca Chica (a brief overview): Boca Chica is basically a run-down (3rd world country) beach town. One of the earlier contributors to this site referred to the town as being on an "exponential decay curve." I couldn't agree more with this statement. While there is evidence that, at one moment in time, this was a thriving sex/beach/resort town, present day Boca Chica is far removed from anything close to this.
Tourism numbers are way down and vacancy rates way up. There are tons of out-of-business hotels and restaurants available for sale, as are private homes. Much worse, the number of available girls (comparatively speaking) is minimal at best. The latter point is disturbing because clearly the sex trade is what's driving everything else. For without this, you have no tourism. Why? Because if you were just looking to go on a nice Caribbean vacation, you'd never even consider this place. The beaches, diving, cuisine and accommodations are all substandard even when compared to shit holes like Jamaica (never thought I'd be saying this!). I don't know what happened to the girls, but the Dominican tourism board may want to rethink its policy (and focus) as it relates to the cleaning up of this area, as it's literally killing the local economy. With limited tourist dollars, what is thriving in this town are the number of crooks, hustlers and pimps targeting unsuspecting tourists.
Not for the faint of heart: This is a very small town and the people here are very well connected. In other words, they know who you are, where you stay, and what your looking for within the first couple of hours of your arrival. There is every kind of con game you can think of taking place here and by some very hard ass individuals. The game is that they pressure you hard for the first 2-3 days, attempting to find a weakness that they can exploit. If they can't find one then the level of pressure drops off significantly. On the other hand, if you do have a weakness, they will find it and you'll be their bitch for the duration of your stay, or until they've taken you for everything; whichever comes first. This one poor Dutch bastard I met had to leave town because he was getting fucked with all of the time. Who are these people? Well, they could be anyone from a street person, to a hooker, to a beach vendor, to a restaurant worker, to a bar owner, to motorcycle taxi driver, all the way down to the security guard at your hotel; the list is endless...
Those who dare to venture: During my visit, ~90% of the tourists were Europeans, while the other ~10% were a mix of Canadians and Americans (almost exclusively from the east coast).~~Europeans (particularly Germans), are well known for traversing the globe in search of the blackest skin they can find, so it wasn't a big surprise seeing them there and in those numbers (I guess Africa was closed that week). Anyway, what was surprising was the number of people from New York; most notably, NYC's finest. You'll understand this comment later in the report, but I hope to *never* see a NYC hooker...
Hotels: There are basically 2 categories of hotels. There are the all-inclusives and the non-all-inclusives. www.BocaChicaBeach.net/hotels.html is a decent site to check out for detailed info on the various hotels. The major distinction between the 2 categories is that the all-inclusives do not allow girls in, whereas the non-all-inclusives typically do, although some may charge for this (check with your hotel regarding their guest policy prior to booking a room). By the way, if you think that you can minimize your exposure to the cons (discussed above) by staying at an all-inclusive; forget it. You will still need to leave your compound to motor around, visit the bars, find a girl, rent a room, etc...
My hotel: Since I am not an all-inclusive type of person (something about paying in advance for future services bothers me; it kinda mitigates the incentive for people to earn it), I decided to stay at the Casa Coco hotel, located about 4 blocks up from the beach. I'd heard some positive things about this place and the French Canadian owner (Gary) on the web, unfortunately this information was dated as the hotel had subsequently changed hands. The new owners were a French couple who ran a fairly tight ship. Two Swiss guys (regulars) who were staying there maintained that things were much better when Gary ran the place, and that they'd never come back again. According to them, numerous girls would just be hanging around the pool and bar, so you'd really never have to leave the hotel if you didn't want to. Gary would pick up an occasional round at the bar, and would also ensure that everyone was enjoying themselves. Under the French regime, I only saw one girl at the bar (only for a few hours at that), received no comp drinks (even though I dropped a small fortune there; as did most of the other guests), and the owners didn't give a rat's ass whether you were having a good time or not. To add insult to injury, the Swiss guy's jokingly informed me that that the French owners didn't like Americans (now there's a new flash!). I quickly pointed out to them that they must not be too fond of the Swiss either because they were certainly not getting any preferential treatment...
On the upside, the hotel was reasonable in price at $25.00USD per night and was very well maintained. While there are better hotels in the same price range (one's with air conditioners, TV's and hot water), I just decided that it was easier to stick it out there, not only avoiding the hassle of moving, but also to avoid staying at a Dominican owned/run hotel. As much as I've knocked the French ownership at Casa Coco, I'd much rather deal with them, than with a Dominican National, should any problems arise.
Girls: If your preference is light skinned Hispanic girls, stay away from Boca Chica. Try Santo Domingo (the capital), or preferably, another latin country as black girls definitely represent the majority of the female population in this town. As mentioned previously, the number of available girls has diminished over the years, evidently, so too, has the quality. In short, I saw no 9's or 10's. Most were in the 4-7 range. Quite frankly, one could do better in any major US city. I've seen far more attractive *streetwalkers* in San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles. The *few* 8's that I saw were either already attached (living) with another tourist, and were therefore not available, or were employed at one of the bars/restaurants. The other major disappointment was the age range of these girls. Most were in their mid to late twenties!!!
Where to find them: Most, if not all of the action takes place on 3-4 blocks of Duarte ave during the late evening. This is the infamous street that runs parallel to the beach. It's not necessary for me to name the names of the bars and discos on this street because there's only a little more than a handful left, and quite frankly, one's not any better than the next. Just sit down at one and you'll see it all eventually. For the record, there was only one Disco open (La Noria) while I was there.
Some of the working girls are connected to a specific bar, and therefore you must pay an exit fee to take them out, while the rest (the majority) are true independents and they hang out at the various bars/discos that are not in the business of selling girls (not directly anyway). Aside from these, you have the aforementioned girls that actually work as bartenders and waitresses on Duarte and surrounding establishments. Some of these girls are available, some are not.
During the day, finding girls of any sort is tough. There may be a few hanging around Duarte and some hustling up and down the beach, but they are not~~beauties; trust me. There is one massage parlor in town (near the main hwy), but that doesn't open until sometime in the afternoon (2:00pm, I believe). It's a small joint, with about 4-5 working girls available at any given time. The quality is on par with the rest of the area, however the girls have major attitudes and seem more interested in talking amongst themselves than with the paying customers; forget it, don't waste your time there!
Prices and such: Because of the independent nature of these girls, the prices vary drastically, even amongst girls of equal talent. What you end up paying will be the cumulative sum of an array of variables, including but not limited to: The type of girl (ie, bar/street girl vs bar/restaurant worker), the prevailing supply and demand situation, how late it is, your looks, her looks, your attitude, her attitude, your~~accommodations, her accommodations, your generosity, her expenses/available cash, the length of your stay and how much she thinks she can get out of you over that time period. Keep in mind that whatever the initial figure is, it's always subject to negotiation. Remember, your not in the US, Canada, etc, anymore where the girls set the prices, you~~tell them what the price is. If they don't like it, chances are that the next girl will, and they damn well know it. Generally speaking, bar/street girls will shoot for at least 500 pesos (~$32.00USD) for a one shot deal (or "short time" if you prefer), and 1000 pesos (~$63.00USD) for the entire night. See the relevant paragraph above covering price ranges, but keep in mind that most of these girls are just looking for a place to sleep/eat and anything more is just gravy, as most Dominican shacks (if they even have one) have no running water, air conditioners, fans, and stink like all get out, so staying at a hotel is a major luxury for them. If your intent on taking this variety back to your room for the night (or whatever) negotiate the price~~before you leave the bar/disco/street, and be firm with them. While you don't need to know much spanish with these girls, the more you know the better off you'll be in terms of keeping the "misunderstandings" relative to service, price and time down to a minimum. Lastly, once in your room, beware that they may try and rip off your possessions/cash. The poor Dutch bastard that I mentioned previously, was ripped off by a girl who somehow got into his locked suitcase though one of the zippers.
Performance: Because of the lack of available talent, I probably didn't do a large enough sampling to make an informed statement regarding the general female population. This is an update on the action in Santo Domingo. I departed for Santo Domingo on March 23, 2001 in search of adult pleasures. And Yes you heard me right the rate at the Jaraguar was $200 US not the $130 reported last year. I am sure the fluctuations are seasonal so before you go check the rates as they will vary greatly depending on the time of year but if you go in March expect to pay $200. All that being said I must admit the Jaraguar is as advertised. It is a beautiful hotel with large rooms containing a safe and minibar. The facilities are magnificent with a large pool, health spa, beauty parlor, 3 restaurants and a casino. It has everything you could want if your are traveling with your wife or girlfriend. But if you are traveling to Santo Domingo for sex DO NOT stay there if your objective is to bring girls back to your room. To get "full" value out of your trip to Santo Domingo find a hotel that will allow girls and verify the policy before you book the room. I visited Santo Domingo in June 2000 and stayed at the Jaragua Hotel. Things have changed at the hotel. You cannot bring anyone into your room unless they check in with you. It is a short cab ride that will cost you about $15 US. I had reservations at the Hotel Zapata for 40 a night and stayed right on the beach. Be careful not to stay in the all inclusives as they do not permit guests. I would also stay away from the guest houses that are all over the place. They tend to be in dark areas and I heard stories about robberies.

Well, now for the good stuff. I have been to Brazil twice and Costa Rica once. I live in Florida, so Boca Chica is a short and cheap flight.
