DISCO CASA DE LA MUSICA MIRAMAR: In my opinion, this is a very good place to find chicks. The place is located in Miramar, one of the "high society neighbors" in Havana. DISCO DEL MORRO: This disco is located on the other side of the bay. Entrance costs is $5 in low season and $7 - high season. Cheap drinks and a few Jineteras. I would say I can compare this place with Casa dela Musica de Galeano.
DISCO CHEVERE: This place is full of Jineteras. Most of them are cute young girls, 18 to 23 years old. They will aproach you as soon as you cross the door. You can count 5 girls for each tourist, so it's mad full of Jineteras. The place is located in Nuevo Vedado, a bit away from the center. Entrance costs $6 any season and drinks goes from $1.5 to $4. DISCO MACUMBA: This place is a bit away from the city, located in a tourist complex about 30 minutes from the downtown. Entrance costs $10 any season. Drinks, $2 to $6. Just got back from Havana and things have gotten a little harder there for getting women cheaply. They are trying to charge upwards of $50-75 and that is way out of line. The next day my friends came and that's when the real party started. we went back to johnny's and brought back a lot of girls and have a party. the owners got a little mad, as they need to keep a lower profile with Girls and Tourists. The next day we head to the beach. I was in Havana in November -2000. The best place I have been. First night we went to Bar Oasis which is by in the Paseo de marti(Prado). Cheap prices, and mucho chicas. I went to Cuba for the very first time in 1998. I had learned that it was the place for a wild and nice time. Me and my two male friends touched down on Friday afternoon. We caught a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. As we were coming through the airport there were a number of Cubans looking at us as though we were celebrities. We got on the bus and headed for the hotel.
On our journey, we saw Cubans sitting and walking along the streets in a desperate state. We checked in the hotel got something to eat and went for a walk.

Coming from Europe, I visited Havana together with a friend in October 2000. The situation is pretty much unchanged with respect to previous reports. Perhaps it is a little more relaxed. It helps enormously if you speak fluent Spanish (as I do), but even a little (my friend) will do. Almost no-one speaks any English beyond 'Where are you from?'
The best way to find girls is to stroll along the sea-side end of Paseo José Marti (Prado), right in the center of the city. In the afternoon you will always find single girls or pairs sitting there or walking slowly. They look, you look back with a smile and they will approach you and offer a conversation. You invite them for a drink or so. They will want to take your hand to show the police you are boyfriend/girlfriend. This way the police does not bother anybody. Police officers are all around, they must know what's going on, but they stay put. They will never approach a tourist. After a drink or a meal you can take them anywhere. Most will agree to come to your casa particular immediately. The girls on the José Marti are mostly non-professionals. They will mention the difficult situation in Cuba and their hope that you will help them. They do not ask for money up-front. We paid between 10 and 40 dollars. They will usually want to meet you again as there are more girls than tourists and that way they keep an income source.
In the evenings you can find professionals and amateurs alike in the discos. We went to 'Oasis' (José Marti) and 'Palermo' (close to the Capitolio). Cover charge is 3 $, a cuba libre as well. A bad salsa orchestra will be playing, salsa disco music from CD's when they rest. Girls come one by one to have a conversation. The rest, see above. Many girls are from the provinces (Santiago, Guantanamo) and often have to rent a room, they say. That has to be paid in dollars (25-40 a month). Anyway, girls are between 6 and 8 out of 10, very sweet, hot and pleasant company. Many hope to eventually make you fall in love with them and arrange for them to come and visit (and possibly marry) you in Europe. Another tip: if you have any doubt at all about the age of the girl, insist you see their ID-card. They must (and do) carry it at all times. The ID on the card starts with the birthday, say 791029nnnnnn, means she was born 29 Oct 1979. In casa particulares, the owner is required to register the girls and thereby check that the are 18. 2000/09/23 Just came back from a week in Havana. stayed in a hotel just outside the city in an area known as the Eastern Beaches. It's great because it is virtually the same as staying at one of the more remote beach locations such as Varadero or cienfuegos but it is only a 15 minute taxi ride into Havana, and all the diversity that Havana has to offer. To get laid though you don't have to travel that far. It is true that things have changed dramatically in Cuba. Women are not allowed to converse with foreigners in public places and there are police everywhere to enforce this. But things are different once you enter a disco. A two minute walk from my hotel brought me to a disco called Los Terrazas.
