Info current as of late December, 2004. The local police and a women's advocacy group have gotten into a public spat about whether the number of prostitutes in the Capital City is increasing, and whether the girls are getting younger. The police say the number is not increasing and even if the girls look younger, the only way to tell is to look at their birth certificates. The last time data was gathered was 1997, so nobody seems to know for sure. Police say often the women can only be charged with loitering. The women in the capital city are known to hang out near the Anglican Church, along Victoria Parade, Sukuna Park, and outside most of the nightclubs and bars. Ni sa Bula. Following the last Fiji review, I was not optimistic about finding action in Suva during a recent visit in June 2002. But things seem to have changed for the better again. Things have quieted down since last years coup ,but still plenty of fun available though don't expect it to be like Bangkok on Friday night. Street walkers tend to hang around the main post office ,and the park next to McDonalds, some very attractive some awful. There was a police crackdown on prostitutes while I was there but it shouldn't take long to get back to normal.
On the main strip bars worth a visit include Lucky Eddies, Golden Dragon ,Signals ,Traps etc.Chequers is a bit too rough and you are likely to get mugged in the Club 2000 area. Tried Laucala Beach but was advised by the taxi driver not to hang around as it was not safe ,I'm not going to argue with local knowledge.
For a good time in Suava ,head for a bar ,pick up an amateur looking for some extra cash, treat her well and you will have a good time. I got a beautiful companion for F$70 per day including all night.IMHO you are better off with an amateur looking for a good time and some extra cash than a hardened ,possibly diseased and drug addicted street professional out to rip you off. I like to be in control and take the girl back to my place, plenty of cheap motels named in the other reports. Obviously keep all valuables hidden.

There are numerous areas in Suva (2.75 hrs from Nadi airport) that has the "action". The GPO in the middle of the town has the most street pros. Just walk behind the post office and you will see the girls sitting or walking around. You will mostly find the Indian girls here. The asking price starts normally at $15 Fijian. ($1 FJD = 86cents Australian). For a full service normally it will cost you between $15 to $30. You may find some pretty girls will charge you extra but you can always haggle and the price will come down. Normally they will take you to a nearby hotel where you can also find some other girls. The best people to ask about these things are the cab drivers. Normally a $5 to $10 tip will get you places!!
Other areas to check out - Capitol Motel, Crossroads Motel, Amy's Apartments etc. Ask any cabby and they will know where these are and will take you!! Fiji has a lot of good decent people and if you help the girls financially you will be rewarded with great service. $100 will get you to spend a night even!! Good hunting..... (Review # 3213)

Night life in Suve, the capital of Fiji is fabulous. great pick up places for girls include the
bali-hai and lucky eddies night club.. 90% of all girls that come to lucky eddies (which is right in
the middle of downtown suva) are either full time prostitutes or enthusiastic
amateurs. Price range from $20 Fijian (1 Fijian dollar is 47c American) but
do not go above $50. The best girls to pick are the Fijians as they are
beautiful and readily love pleasing you. Part Europeans are also good but
do not tend to stay all night or are too pricy. Avoid the Indian girls.
They are excessively rude and will try to beat you Only the Indian guys
