Hi guys. Okay, visited Angeles a few months ago for the 2nd time (been to the Phils 4 times since 1998) and just wanted to tell you about my experience there. The very first thing I noticed was that prices seemed to be a lot higher than the last time I visited. This was due to the USD getting weaker. Still things were cheaper than the US. I checked into the Phoenix Hotel which is not a bad place to stay. Rooms are good and the staff are very helpful. The food in the restaurant is good too! The owner is a friendly guy and will help you in any way he can if you need it. One of the girls behind the desk told me I could buy an EWR (early work release) for her for like 300p! That kinda caught me by surprise. She was cute but I didn't EWR her. You'll see why as you read on!
My first day in Angeles: I really didn't know where I wanted to go so I took a trike to this restaurant across from The Doll House and had a cold drink to ward off the humidity. We became so close in so short a time and we still are. You don't have to do what I did to have a great time in Angeles but if you decide to weigh the pros and cons. Was for the first time in Angeles City packed with young beauties. The VIP lounge in The Nile entertainment has "fashion shows" with beautiful models. Firstly let me say this was my first trip to Philippines>I had been to Thailand 15 times before but won't go anymore due to the over commercialization and purely mercenary nature of the bar scene. Also I consulted this site for information many times reading all the reviews and I thank the other contributors for that. I went to Cebu for 4 days and Angeles for 3 days. This is too short a time as travel between cities in Philippines is painfully slow and you need to allocate a full day when changing cities.
In my view Cebu is a waste of time. The "beaches" were woeful and you need to travel to other islands [island hopping], this cost about $100 a day when all said and done, to see anything nice. I went to Bohol for a day trip which was ok.
In Philippines all the main beaches are accessed through the resorts who "own" them, there is no real public beaches as in Australia. That’s why you need to island hop as there are no resorts on the tiny islands. The bars there are small, dirty and noisy. There is no real central bars area and they are spread out amongst a few streets need a trike, 50P, to take you to them if you don’t know where they are.
Angeles was much better tons of bars some with more than 100 girls in stock. Beers 85P, lady drink 160P to 260P. Generally the nicer the bar the more likely its 250P mostly air conditioned. I thought Dollhouse was best, 120 girls, most friendly, little real pressure, nice waitresses. Also club Lancelot was very good, Nero’s forum very good. I stayed at the Orchid Inn for one night at $55 but found it really noisy. It has a great layout and food and ambience if you can stand the noise. I moved to the New Pacific Inn at $50 which was just great big room a/c, and just 2 yrs old.
One of the girls told me Wild Orchid/Orchid Inn /Pacific Inn are all good. For transport back to Manila book a ticket for the bus at 750P from your hotel to international airport, 8 am 11am and 3pm. Angeles City can still be a fun place, but some things you should know. It isn't like the old days when they jsut gave great service for cheap. They want to see if you are a spender first. To each his own, but keep in mind if they are getting drinks and commisions from your spending -- then they have no reason to offer you anything else.

If you can follow those basic things you will love any place you go, and Angeles is a blast. Dont worry about the transportion you will be fine tries to almost anywhere and even up to perimeter wont cost you more than 50 pesos or 1 dollar Us. Just keep a eye out, but you wont have any problem. The reports of scams about police with underage scamers is true! I was in this exotic city for about 5 days on vocation and of course play a round of golf at the beautiful Mimosa Golf club. What I should say about this city is one of the number one destinations in Asia for friendly and beautiful girls who are there to please you at any time. Angeles City travelers beware. There are several new scams happening frequently now in Angeles City. The so called "tourist police" for the most part are just as corrupt as the regular police. The most common scam is to entrapt a tourist with a "underage girl". This can be in two forms.
Firstly the tourist police enlist the help of streetwalker "freelancers", underage girls who roam the streets of Fields Avenue and get them to find a customer. After seeing the customer in his hotel the girl then informs the tourist police whom show up at the hotel, arrest or threaten to arrest the customer and then proceed to shake down (rob) the customer, demanding money, watches, jewelry.
Scam two is an underage freelancer is business with men who pose as police and after the deed is done show up at the hotel, intimidate the hotel staff, demand to arrest the customer and refuse to show the hotel staff any indentification. These so called "police" then shake down the customer in the same manner. Please note that many of the bars have girls with fake ID's that are not in fact 18 and are working with the tourist police, or fake police in shaking down customers as well. A customer bar fines a girl from a bar believing she is barely legal and then is caught up in this shake down.
This is going on most everyday and had become a big businees for the tourist police and a easy way to rip off the tourists. They will approach you and warn you about your money and how easily it is for people to steal from you. They will try and get you to take out your wallet and then distract you while they steal your money. They will also sometimes invite you to a card game and steal your money that way or offer you girls at a very cheap price.

Went to Angeles City a few months ago. Wow what a place. The bars are right next to each other for as far as the eye can see. No joking, at least 80 bars in an area the size of your average college campus. Girls in Angeles vary from fine to not so great, or past her prime. But most are young, attractive, sweet girls. Do not think it is like in the movies, the South East Asian red light district. It is clean, safe, and the girls are not used up drug addicts. They are young nice girls who sell their self because of the country's poor economic situation, not cause of drugs or abuse. THE BARS I did not make it to too many bars. There are so many drinks that cost from under 1 dollar to a few for top shelf spirits. A San Miguel will cost around maybe 1 dollar or less in most bars. A drink for a lady will cost anywhere from about 2 to 3 dollars. For that ladies drink you get her attention. She will sit with you and talk to you. Misc Info: Watch out for Guys in skirts on Santos St. They are pretty convincing. You can tell them 'cause they dress more slutty than real girls, and they are larger and taller. Have been to Angeles in Octobre 2003.
I had probably the best 3 weeks of my life.
It is a great place... provided you go there to drink and fuck young filipinas.
The prices were low... my hotel room was just 15 Euro a night... and it was a nice one... aircon, good television and cable programs, clean, nice room service, swimming pool, gym, karaoke and girly bar inside the hotel, nice restaurant with swiss chief... guess it got about 3 star level.
The beer was cheap... less than 1 Euro/ USD the bottle in the girly bars... outside in restaurants the bottle was just about 50 Cent.
The most importent, the girls... bar fine for the whole night was about 20 USD or 17 Euro... short time was half the price.
Several 1000 girls are working there in Angeles... the number of tourists is less then half the number.
Actually you feel there like Brat Pitt... as long you treat the girls a little nice you feel like in paradise... if you are "young" (maybe younger than 40) and a little handsome you do not the choose the girls anymore... believe me you are the one to be choosen, several times a day.
Big advantage of the filipina girls are quite good english skills and the - in general - real nice personality.

To be honest, Thailand is a little easier place from an infrastructure standpoint...that is, getting from point a to point b, accommodations is slightly cheaper, good food is a little cheaper, things like that.
