This is a specialised destination, rather than a general tourist one. People go to SCUBA dive or as eco tourists, preferably on organised trips as due to the crime situation local knowledge is essential. It is extremely dangerous at night and not much better during the day.
Having said all that if you happen to find yourself there, a good time can still be had. Basically forget prostitution if you are a white male unless you are really old or ugly as the women are all over you. Head for a bar/night club, preferably attached to your hotel as being out on the streets is not advisable. I walked into one and a lady started talking to me within the first minute. Within 20 mins she was in my room having sex, kept asking if she was my first black. Afterwards she told me she was getting jealous looks from other women in there. Almost entirely black girls, with some gorgeous mixed breeds. Girls from Bouganville and Buka are black as coal, mixed black/Chinese a lovely caramel colour. A very poor country with serious violent crime and AIDS problems, so take appropriate precautions.
