Just spent time in Inchon on business. You have 2 options in Incheon - the 'Yellow House' just off Inchon Port. Most houses won't accommodate westerners, just take a cab, ask him to cruise through the area and a mama will let you know if the girls will go with you. ~~~~~~2 options available - back to your hotel or at the yellow house. Pusan, Korea (update) 8/29/02’~~I’ve lived in Japan for 14 years and traveled around Asia quite a bit. Been to Seoul but just went to Pusan for the first time and spent 5 days and left 2 days before the monster typhoon hit. Thanks to the guys who previously posted info as I used it as a guide. Pusan, now called Busan is a port city with a lot of Russian ships calling so a lot of Russian merchant seaman around. I stayed at the Phoenix Hotel, more like a business hotel ($85) in Nampodong. This is the market area with many shops, stores, restaurants and streets full of stalls selling anything & everything from electronics to cloths etc etc. at pretty good bargain prices. A real shopping area teeming with crowds especially at night, a real nightime bazarre but I didn’t find any interesting bars or clubs or many people that spoke any English. ~~~~So I went 2 times to Texas Street in front of Busan Station as previously reported but it was a real let-down in my opinion. A dinky street about 3 blocks long and most of the small bars are full of and basically for the Russians. Some at the one end are more for westerners but I didn’t see any gals that were really worth the trip there. Mostly Russians, most of whom can’t speak English and are 4’s and 5’s at best. I did check out Green Street and that is the best red light district I’ve seen anywhere. Several streets with large store front shops brightly lite in white & pink. In each window sits about 10 Korean gals mostly 8’s and 9’s all dressed in white little prom style dresses. Its really a trip to see. The bad news is that these shops mostly cater only to the Koreans but there are 2 shops that will take foreigners however if you don’t speak any Korean or Japanese, that could be a problem because I didn’t find that they could speak much English. The gals live in their own rooms above the shops so they are quite comfortable. Price was $80 for a hour and $120 for 3 hours. I had a great gal and a good time. Stayed in her room, did our thing, had a few drinks, watched TV and listened to music. Very civilized.~~ ~~Best way to get there is by taxi which are cheap costing around $4-5 dollars. If an average taxi driver says he doesn’t know where it is, then go to Texas street where you will find one or a tout who speaks English and has a connection with these places and will take you. Thats all I could find in central Busan. If there are other places, I just couldn’t find them in 3 days there but there must be something else I’m sure.~~ ~~Then I went to Haeundae Beach for 2 days. its only about 9-10 miles away and a $12 taxi ride. A nice mile long beach with 5 star hotels: Chosen Beach, Grand, Marriot & Paradise Beach that also has a gambling casino. Go on the internet and get a great room for around $120. I wandered around the entire beach area and back and never found any action at all or a night life area . Sorry but the info in a previous post is not correct as The Sydney Hotel & the McDonalds are actually at the next beach which is called Gwangalli Beach. I walked it from Haeundae Beach and it took me well over an hour. I found the Sydney Hotel & McDonalds which face the beach and walked the entire area behind which has a number of small local eateries but no red lite area. So maybe its now gone or moved or whatever but I sure couldn’t find it or anyplace with any action that was obvious. ~~ ~~As others have also said, there are many areas and places that are off-limits to foreigners these days and judging from some of the sluggo bum types I’ve seen running around, I can understand why. So if you go to these places, act right and treat the women right and keep the doors open for everyone else. A ~~few 100 meters then turn left. You should see the International Prayer Mountain ~~(Kee Do Won) soon enough. You are on the right road. From here just head towards ~~Bop Won Rhee. Another landmark you should see is the US Army Base Camp Stanton. ~~From here it is about a good 15 minutes drive. Stay on the narrow road. You ~~should see the Buses no 30 and 31 and 32 running. It helps if you can read ~~Korean. Pretty soon you will see a green sign saying Paju Eop. You are almost ~~there. Stay on the road and then you will see a whole bunch of small shops and ~~the place is on your right! Stay on the road and you end up on a small bridge. ~~It is small so don't expect a huge thing. The actual place is huge! I think ~~twice the size of Chong Nyang Rhee. Now try to find some parking here! It was ~~almost impossible but keep trying. Then take bus #30 or #31 and get off at Yongjookol (make sure you know the distinction between Paju-shi and Paju-eup). This is a very long report. It is so long because I was privilege to an evening that most non-Asians will ever experience and I wanted to pass on as much of that experience as I could. I hope that you find this interesting.~~~~I had business in Taejon, a smaller city about 100km south of Seoul. I was accompanied by my distributor and his friend, who will be known as J and K. They are both native Koreans but have studied English in the US. In the center of the couches was a square coffee table ice buckets and napkins. within the corner was a Karaoke machine with a TV set on top which was running some soft core American "the making of some photo shoot video kind-of-thing" with the sound turned off.~~The mama-san brought in 3 girls for us to choose from. She seemed to be content preparing the food and pouring my drinks. I learned some Korean customs about giving toasts, etc. After this, the Karaoke machine was turned on. It seemed that J's partner was quite a little firecracker, as she put on some songs and started singling along, banging the tambourine. She was quite a good singer. J also got up and sang a few songs. I was asked to sing, and did so out of courtesy, even though I don't like Karaoke (I think it's stupid). I sang some English songs that I knew no one would know.~~~~JinKyoung even escorted me to the rest room when I needed to go, and waited outside until I was done.~~~~This went on for another 2 1/2 hours, and a second, third, and 4th bottle of whiskey was brought in, accompanied with fruit plates and other snacks, there was singling and dancing, fast and slow, a good time seemed to be had by all. JinKyoung communicated as best as possible.~~Then the clock struck 12 and mama-san came in to make the "arrangements". J got the bill and he was really pissed off. He and P went outside and motioned to me that I should stay inside the room.~~~~Mama-san then came in and communicated to me as to whether or not I would like JinKyoung to come with me back to my hotel room. I said that it was OK since J, P, and I had decided beforehand that that would be the plan. Mama-san asked for my credit card, and JinKyoung took it and left the room. JinKyoung came back with mama-0san and a charge slip for 250,000 Korean Won (about $225 USD). I was a little concerned, because that was a little higher than expected, even though mama-san indicated that this was for all night. She also mentioned that I shouldn't tell J or P about this arrangement, which only alarmed me more. I indicated that this was not satisfactory and went outside to talk to J, who was by this time very "happy" but animatedly arguing with the manager about the bill. J and P both asked me to return to the room while J argued with mama-san. I told P what mama-san had "arranged" for me and that I wasn't interested in an "all-nighter", as sweet and nice as JinKyoung was, because we all had to work the next day.~~~~So then I went outside, where J was still arguing with mama-san over the bill. After a few minutes, they had seemed to have struck a satisfactory arrangement. J and I had already agreed to split the bill 50/50, and I wanted to make sure that I paid my fair share. What was settled on was about $900.00 US for the 3 hours in the room, and that each girl would go back to our hotel room for a "short time". A little steep, but considering I was there for the experience, I didn't mind that much. I asked J if I needed to tip JinKyoung and he said no, that everything was included. I don't know if she was disappointed or relieved at not having to do the "all-nighter", she remained rather neutral about it all.~~~~We all departed the club with our "partners". I was staying at a tourist hotel and J and P were staying at a hotel for locals, which was in walking distance. JinKyoung and I took a taxi to my hotel. When we reached my hotel, we had to be discreet. The hotel rules stated "no visitors", but I'm sure the staff knew what was going on. At the room, she called in to the club. I offered JinKyoung a drink and a snack, and explained to her as best as I could that the "no all nighter" was nothing personal, just that I had to get up to work in the AM. We both showered, not together as the bathroom was very small. I guess she must've called the club when I was showering, as she had apparently forgot to bring a condom and had one delivered. I didn't see anything for Pusan in your current ~~guide.~~~~Pusan is South Korea's second largest city and its main port. Being a port city in Asia, there is certainly action to be found. ~~~~Many visitors have heard of "Texas Street" in Pusan.~~Texas Street is the only area in Pusan that mostly caters to non-Asians. There are other areas that cater more to Koreans and, to a lesser extent, Japanese. ~~~~Texas Street is somewhat like Itaewon in Seoul, but with a Russian accent. Lots of Russian seamen and businessmen visit Texas Street. Look at a map. People often do not know or else forget how close the Russian Far East is to Korea.~~~~The official name of the Texas Street area is Choryang-dong. It is across the street from Pusan Station (the main railroad station). Most taxi drivers will understand what you mean if you just say "Texas." ~~~~Texas Street is mostly hostess bars (so-called cafes & clubs). Many of the hostesses are Russians including some who are ethnic Koreans (overseas Koreans) from Russia. Hostess drinks are usually ten thousand won (about US$9). In most places a hostess will expect about one drink per half hour of conversation or, in some places, dancing.~~~~If you are loaded with money, you can take a girl outside to eat food (not her) or to sing (karaoke), but that will usually cost fifty thousand won per hour just for the bar fine. Also, this is NOT Thailand. So, simply paying a bar fine doesn't mean that you are likely to get laid. Be clear about what will and will not happen if you go outside the bar.~~~~Unfortunately, many of the hostesses will refuse to go outside to have sex. For those that do, then expect to pay at least one hundred thousand Korean won (almost US$100). The older Korean (South Korean) hostesses seem more likely to have sex with customers than the Russian hostesses especially the younger Russians.~~~~The quality of the women on Texas Street varies greatly. A few of the women are stunning, but many others are way over-the-hill. Some speak basic English, but others do not seem to know any English. Only a few of the Russians understand much Korean. Those are usually the ethnic Koreans from the Russian Far East.~~~~A cheaper option is an area that is called "Green Street." I think the real name of the area is Chungmu-dong. It is not that easy to find, but there are some taxi drivers on Texas Street that should understand where you want to go. Green Street is a fairly short trip (less than ten minutes unless the traffic is really bad) from Pusan Station.~~~~Green Street is a classic South Korean red light district. The gals (all South Koreans) sit in windows. For some reason, most places have a sort of "uniform" dress that all the girls where. Some of the mamasans speak basic English. They will probably quote you a high rate of US$100 for a short time, but you should be able to get them to agree to something around US$60 for a short time. It is probably better to use only Korean money (won) and to speak some Korean if you can. ~~~~Some establishments always refuse to serve Westerners. In other places, the mamasan might accept you, but the girl herself might not be too happy and she will try to finish as quickly as possible.~~~~Some Westerners prefer a smaller red light district that can be found a couple of blocks inland from the beach at Haeundae. This area is about one square block. It is close to the "Sydney Motel." It's on the same road as McDonald's. ~~~~Prices here tend, on average, to be slightly higher than Green Street. Nevertheless, you should not have to pay more than eighty thousand won (less than US$80) for a short time in Haeundae. Again, you will only find South Korean gals here.~~~~The service in Haeundae is often better than Green Street. Also, the girls are generally more likely to accept a Western customer. ~~~~There are other options in Pusan such as barber shops (around US$50, but the women are older and rarely know any English) as well as "sports massage" parlors and "Turkish baths" (usually over US$100, but younger and better looking women). ~~~~Some of the massage places can be found in middle market hotels. If the girl doesn't know any English, then you could see if she understands some basic Japanese. (Some of the hotels cater mostly to Japanese visitors. In fact, Japanese might also work with some girls in Haeundae). ~~~~If you are having sex anywhere in Korea, be sure to wear a good condom. The action around Osan AB in Songton, Korea basically has gone downhill tremendously since the base has declared many areas right outside the base off-limits: Turkish bath houses, prostitution houses, barber shops, ...etc. basically anyplace fun. Prior to 1995 the local bar-girls (juicys)had to compete with the legal funhouses for attention...the drinks you have to buy to get the girl to sit with you were 3000won or 5000won for a large juice or a Very good looking girl. Now, the drinks are 10,000 (about $8) and they expect you to buy many many many of them before they even entertain the thought of going home with you. A rumor has it that after 10 drinks, she has to go with you...well, it's not true! The girls are under no obligation to go with you! You can pay their bar-fine for the night usually $100 per hour left till closing, and even then, she will usually try and rip you off! If you are tired of all this crap and just want to get laid, save your money, don't buy ANY juicys, the girls will eventually get the hint. Head to Seoul to blue subway stop 17 and hit the red light district.
Otherwise, if you're really, I mean REALLY, desperate in Songton, you can get a short-time from a fat mamasan that sells flowers near the Aragon Alley cutoff.
