For all who will visit Tokyo and/or Yokohama and intend to visit one of the neighbourhoods described in the reports, you should know about the following:

"Yokohama's Koganecho district was known throughout Japan for its streets packed with mostly Asian hookers, but crimebusters have now turned out the lights. Police started watching the district toward the end of last year (2004), then began raiding one place after another. Then, they posted a 24-hour guard on the area and there is not a single brothel operating in Koganecho anymore. The women who used to work in Koganecho have apparently headed for greener pastures. Even the crimefighters patrolling the streets of Koganecho are unaware of how long the district will be targeted. This means you can scratch some of the options as reported earlier for finding prostitutes in this area. I am sure there are places where you can still shop around. So if anyone has more updated information, let him report this so others won't waste precious time on looking for something that is simply not there anymore. I agree that the massage-girls which you can find on the street are a rip off. They will promise a massage for 5,000 or even 3,000 yen but once you're inside you will find that you need to spend a lot more (10,000 till 15,000 yen) to get at least something of a service.

Once you agree on that, a massage is all you will have. She will save your front side for last and makes sure this is done in a way that you will not be able to avoid being sexually stimulated. She will gladly be of more service for an additional 10,000 yen but when give her the money all she will do is give you a hand job and will not remove any of her clothes.

So if sex is what you want, your money can be better spent elsewhere. The red light districts where you find clubs will often refuse foreigners. Those are the ones where you are being being ignored by the man at the door. If you have the courage to inquire anyway, they will say: "sorry, japanese only".

Personally, I think of it as small dicks only. It happened twice that I walked into a club that DID accept foreigners and found out the girl could not handle the size. 21 Seki. After getting frustrated with Hinodecho being closed for so long I decided to head to Shibuya for the infamous 21 Seki. It was easy enough to find using directions listed on here. Anyway there are many of these fringe establishments now in Shibuya and Shinjuku. Its difficult to find the good ones though unless you know a local person that can help you. If you are coming here on business or vacation for only a few days it will be very difficult for you to find these places.

I was in Tokyo in July 2004 for some business purposes. The Japanese girls are very cute, but without speaking any Japanese it is very tough to approach them. I visited three areas where you can find buyable sex:

Roppongi is one of the areas where you could try to catch a Japanese chick if you are lucky. Some of them hang around in the bars because they like foreigners. Do not hesitate to approach them, treat them nice and may be you will be a lucky man.

I recommend walking a bit farther on thre right side sidewalk. There is an empty lot just before the next intersection and, if there is a girl availalble, normally one will be on the street and approach you if you show any eye interest. She'll take you to a 4th floor parlor nearby and show you a menu of services ... once the prices go from Yen10,000 and higher, you know you will be pleased. The girls are Chinese and good 6-8 range. The routine is you are taken to the girl in a small curtained cubicle .. she'll be in a light, short dress, introduce herself and be told by the hostese what you ordered.
