Madagascar's capital was my assignment for quite some time. The pick up joints and places vary according to the time of day. Generally the "worst" is Indra: it's the roughest places and all the girls are prostitutes. Not easy to fend them off but they are quite cheap and you can find real beauties from time to time. Every girl that goes to this place is willing to go to bed with you later at night.

Glacier hotel is mixed: most girls look for foreign men but some come only for the music. Still possible to pick them up but they are not as desperate as at Indra. The streets between Hotel de France (on avenue De L'Independance) and the Sakamanga hotel are crowded with girls as soon as night falls: some of them are quite ok, but it's not the same style as in the bars and discos. Le Bus is a discotheque for the rich Malagaches.

Be prepared to pay at least € 40 for a night, sometimes even more. But you can find real beauties there. Pandora is one of the best places: lots of atmosphere and very good girls at reasonable prices. Caveau is the only place where you will find foreign girls. It's a disco where only Malagache girls from the highlands are allowed.

Generally it's interesting to see that most girls who sell their bodies are from the coast and the Merina girls from the highlands are few: but the ones you meet are arguably the most beautiful. Expect to pay around 20 to 30 € for a night in one the nightclubs. They will try to contact you again in the future, most dream of marrying a "vaza" (white man).

Only a few of these reviews of Madagascar make much sense to me as someone who visits there often. Yes it's a pretty dirty place, because the people are dirt poor but the Malagasy people are unique. Do not make the mistake of calling them Africans, even the jet black ones of pure African descent will be quite offended.

Malagasy people are either varying degrees of pure Indonesian of Afro-Indonesian, with great mixtures of Chinese, European, Arab, Asian and much else. They see themselves as a unique people, and they are. Most women are tiny by Western standards and many are very pretty indeed. They have, for some odd racial reason, tiny pussies the labia are very small, ditto the clits and the cleft looks like you wandered into your sister's bathroom when she was about 10 years old. They are mostly small breasted too.

In Tana I like the Hotel Glacier. It's been there for a zillion years and has regional music groups every night. Look especially for a Selegy or Tsampiki group. I saw a Tsampiki group from Ft. Dauphion there once and they kicked up such an incredible and amazing torrent of ultra fast local rhythms that it was intoxicating. Hundreds of girls just waiting for you to take them to your hotel in exchange for a "Cadeau" (present) not to exceed about $10. Malagasy are gentle people. Never shout or display raw emotions (embarrassing), never point with a finger (rude). Never ever make jokes about dead people. Respect the elderly.

STD rates in Madagascar are amazingly low (1%) compared to Africa - but bring your own condoms as the local selection is small and meant for small dicks. You will never go wrong with Durex, and avoid Trojans, they spilt and are a bad brand. Most girls will give BJ’s but not all.

Malagasy are 98% circumcised males, except the Vezo tribe of Tulear and related regions and if you are uncut they might not go down on you. Like Africa, anal is mostly a no-no. French is a must. Girls simply don't speak English in nearly every case. However fucking is a universal language! Girls in Tamtave are another breed, descended from European pirates mixed with Malagasy.

A bit more on the make than most Malagasy. You'll have to go to clubs as unlike Kenya, girls can't be had just by chatting to them casually as a tourist. In Tulear where the very pretty Vezo girls hang out, the Zaza Club is famous, and for daytime, sit at La Terasse and watch the lovelies go by. You can always smile and beckon or go to the Hotel Vovo Telo in nearby Ifaty and sit on the beach to see dozens of totally stunning Vezo girls walk by, all of which are available for a "Cadeau", or just hang out at a bar that has a band playing, or any disco. They look like Africans with wavy hair but I think they are dark Polynesian racially. They have plump African asses often, but again those tiny little cracks, so unlike mainland Africa.

The Lonely Planet guide for Madagascar will give you the major nightclubs in the major towns. Expect lots of elderly Euros with their very young Malagasy consorts. The Malagasy are very clean, if they can find water. The women wash before and after sex, quite vigorously! Madagascar is twenty times as safe and honest as mainland Africa by the way. The legal age is 15, but for foreigners it may be 18. There are lots of European pedes around, so as an ID is required in Madagascar, just ask to see hers if in doubt. Madagascar is a great place for very exotic mixtures of women. I don't think they are as sexually adventurous as Africans but I have had some sweet lays and any gal is happy to become your "holiday wife" and follow you around for free in exchange for some travel, nice meals and a chance to visit other parts of the country.
