  • Conakry Travel Report Dated Added: Sat Jan 07 2006 Submitted by: Trotamundos

Recent situation at Conakry, Guinea Nightlife in Conakry is excellent. Girls are available everywhere, nightclubs are of course the main place to pick up girls. Girls also hang around major hotels looking for “love”. Actually almost all girls that you see are available, including hotel personnel and waitresses in restaurants. But with them you need to make them think that you care about them. Bar girls ask normally 20000 – 100000 francs (4-20 €) for LT. Almost every girl will go with 20000. I never paid more than 40000. It is a buyers market in Conakry. Most of the girls will go home alone after evening because there is not enough customers. I never even tried ST there, but I assume that it would have to be cheap.

Many girls are ready for anything, BBBJ, anal, with many girls at the same time, anything goes. Generally girls are pretty, assuming that you like black girls. Susu girls are like coffee with milk colour but there are many completely black ones available also. Most of the bar girls are 6s’, 7’s or 8’s. But I had some 9’s as well. Most girls want to have a long term relationship. If you go for this they will quickly find all the usual reasons to ask more money (mother is sick, rent, school fee, mobile phone stolen, etc..) But the money goes to a good purpose, so who cares. It is good to speak at least little bit French but most girls understand some English also.

I had good experiences in all the nightclubs where I visited. Action starts late, around midnight. If you are early, the best place is called Bembeya, which is loaded with girls at 10 p.m. Other good places are Genesia, Climax, Timi’s, Atlantis and Le Loft. Just to name a few. But these places are quiet before midnight. After midnight all are full of girls. Generally Conakry is safe. But walking alone at night while drunk might not be wise. Taxis are in poor condition but those are cheap also.

At night time the problem is police/military check points. They will stop your taxi and will not let you go until you give them money. Normally 5000 – 10000 francs (1 – 2 €) per police is enough. I did not find a way to leave without paying. If you want to avoid the police it is necessary to stay in nightclubs close to your hotel.

I stayed there in two hotels: Novotel and Camayenne. Both are girl friendly. Girl will need to leave her ID to reception and thats it. Nothing is charged. Of course the hotels itself were expensive ~60€ per night. I have no idea about cheaper accommodation, but I am sure that it is available. My company paid my bills so I was not worried about the hotel price.

Food is great in Conakry. Normally meal in a good restaurant costs 1 – 4 €. and with four euro you will eat prawns or T-bone steak. Beer is 1€ (imported) or 0,5 € for local. Avoid restaurants in big hotels. They charge ten times the amount compared to other restaurants. I spent three months in Guinea and I was just starting to find its secrets. I will go again soon. I recommend that everyone should go.

Well the street barrages are gone. Apart from that I'd agree with the previous report. Women friendly - even to an insanely drunk English fool who staggered about 'Climax' saying 'bon soir' to any woman who didn't run away quick enough. Go there, have fun. (Review # 7613)

WARNING: Guinea has one of the highest growth rates of AIDS and STD incidences in the world!!! ~~~~Otherwise, sex can be found just about anywhere you travel in this part of the world. Sexual exploration is very open and most adults dabble. Be careful and have fun!~~~~The almighty dollar carries a lot of weight and most women can be acquired for a very reasonable sum (westerners will have no problem finding extremely eager to please girlfriends)... ~~~~Check out any of the major hotels or restaurants in Conakry (there's only a handful), I stayed at the Camayenne but there are several equal alternatives offering better rates and quality of service (Novotel, Riviera, Mariador Palace, and the Mariador Residence). Sitting observant for a few minutes in any of these establishments will give you an immediate sense of the local action and there are usually ladies available in the lounge or bar areas. ~~~~Conakry offers excellent nightlife, I recommend Eden as it's very popular among the expats, plenty of beautiful women every night although drinks are kinda pricey. Other major nightclub attractions include Timmy's, Mawal, Climax, and the ever popular Copain d'Abour.~~~~Negotiating for sex is optional, women here will be happy just for a "date" with a westerner (be nice, take them to dinner and have some drinks). Official rates vary from $1-25 US based on your level of kindness, most women won't formally request payment for services rendered but some form of compensation will probably be expected. Remember, these people are extremely poor and it doesn't take much to please, be nice and take good care of your "date!"~~~~Straight sex and BJ is the norm, few Guinean women seem to be into anal, and many are more than willing to experiment with multiple partner activities. ~~~~NOTE: Be very careful when traveling in Guinea (and most of West Africa for that matter), especially during the night! Curfews are routinely enforced and barrages are active throughout the region (penalties vary from almost nothing to my own personal max of 30,000 GF).~~ (Review # 2398)

WARNING: Guinea has one of the highest growth rates of AIDS and STD incidences in the world!!! ~~

Otherwise, sex can be found just about anywhere you travel in this part of the world, but be careful!

The almighty dollar carries a lot of weight and most women can be acquired for a very reasonable sum (most westerners will have no problem finding extremely eager to please girlfriends). Check out any of the major hotels or restaurants in Conakry (there's only a handful), I stayed at the Camayenne but there are several equal alternatives offering better rates and quality of service. Sitting observant for a few minutes in most of these establishments will give you an immediate sense of the local action.

Conakry offers some lively night life, I recommend Timmy's on the east side, plenty of beautiful women every night although drinks are kinda pricy (3,000 GF for a can of "Skol" - local label - beer). But they do seem to draw a pretty interesting crowd, great place to have some fun and shop around. ~~

Bartering for sex is optional given the strong value of the dollar in Guinea, but rates can vary from $1-5 US (1,500-7,000 GF) for BJ, and $5-25 US for FS. A little more than that for the best women and usually well worth it!

Straight sex and BJ is the norm, few Guanine women seem to be into anal or anything too kinky. Never know unless you ask though...

NOTE: Be very careful when traveling in Guinea (and most of West Africa for that matter), especially during the night! Curfews are not officially enforced in most cases but barricades are active throughout the region and you will run into one sooner or later. Penalties vary from almost nothing to my own personal max of 30,000 GF. Sometimes you'll chance encounter the occasional weirdo or zealot, beware of these situations as you may possibly end up jailed, beaten, or worse! I would recommend traveling only during the day and always try to bring someone that knows the area well.~~
