If after a warning that person continues to pos ads in the wrong area, then I will ban them. It's not a perfect system but it is all that is possible without monitoring every single post before it is posted.

I tell The Banker about those kind of posts all the time, and he is very prompt about moving or re-moving. I used to feel compelled to post stuff like, HEY--! This belongs in the *advertising* section! But now I just report the post and it goes away, goes where it is supposed to go.

here in dubai, the authorities know very well whats going on and where, they have plenty of informants, and can bust a place IF they wanted to, but they dont, unless there is some serious drug related activity going on. its all tolerated with eyes closed. however if you caused any trouble in public after drinking (you dont have to be drunk, 1 drink is enough) then your in serious shit in most cases. you just have to always be sensible and keep your eyes and ears open.

i've been reading all your posts about LE, i'm assuming that stands for local enforcment or something, it seems that you guys in the states are having a tough time treading around the law with this board! what ever happened to 'the land of the free'???
what kind of powers do they have to take action??

"The Land Of The Free" is just a phrase from the national anthem, it is not in the United States Constitution which, by the way, went into considerable detail about slavery, etc. As for what kind of powers the cops have...the question is so broad, so general, as to require a whole encyclopedia to answer. The cops have the power to pretend to be johns, to pretend to be street walkers, to arrest when they find evidence of whoring or mongering, and the penalties vary by state, yet in some areas there is relative tolerance...at least for a time, usually until somebody in the community makes a loud fuss. But it is better to share useful information than to engage in philosophical or legal banter. I have some Isreal info, I go to post it now. Let us all continue our efforts to share info. It is the most powerful thing we can do. Share, share, share your info.

you would think that with all the problems that exist in most of america, the cops would devote their time fighting 'real' crime, rather than chase after 'soft' targets who are only out to enjoy themselves or make a living! anyway, if the laws become to strict, it would only benefit other places like mexico,thailand and dubai.

There are almost 6,000 messages in Asia - General Discussions. It makes it difficult for those of us seeking out information on only one or two countries to find the relevant threads because the subject titles don't always disclose the location. Thus, I am recommending for your consideration that Asia - General Discussions be split up into 3 or 4 subgroups by geographic location. Something like: North East Asia - Japan, Korea, China; Southeast Asia - Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc., etc. What do you think?

Thomas: Yes, that is a good idea. I have been planning on expanding that category into individual countries (as well as doing the same for other areas too).

But I am also working on another type of major restructing for the forum which I had hoped to be able to do first. If I can't complete that restructing, then I will split up asia into groups.

How does one become a senior member on this site? What priveleges does a senior member have that others do not?

To be a Senior Member, you have to have 100 posts. Currently there are no additional privileges. Only the Title is different.

But if anyone has suggestions on different levels of privileges, I am open to suggestions.

I am glad to hear you are planning to restructure the site, because with so many daily posts it’s better to organize it so that information can easily be found.

For small sites that don’t attract many members it’s OK to split the world by just a few areas (Africa, Caribbean, etc), but this is not a small site any more and plenty of information is being posted every single day, so adding one more level with a breakdown by country would be really helpful, not only for Asia but also for all the other areas (Europe, Africa, etc).

I like your site but seem to have one issue with it. When you go to a thread, you have to back track to find out what people are talking about. Can you have the original thread first (on top) and have replies going down. That way one just has to scroll down as they read (not up). It's like reading a book. You don't read a book from the back to the front...... no disrespect, just a little food for thought.

Click here to find out "What are the various thread display options?". To change the way you view the threads, go to your "User CP" and hit "Edit Options" and scroll down to the "Thread Display Options" and make your changes.

You can change that setting in your User CP

Click User CP
Click Edit Options
Go to Thread Display Mode
Then Choose if you want the oldest or newest threads first.(Linear)
