Im off to Pattaya for my first time and would like catch some ofthe games from the first round of the Australian Rules Football. Does anyone know of any bars that would show it ?

I didn't see any but there were plenty of bars showing English soccer.

Have a good look around as there are plenty of Aussies there and the season wasn't started last week when I was there.

G'day Spin,
When I first went to Thai in the mid 90's you could find aussie rules every Sat and Sun in many bars. It was because tha Aust government used to broadcast a channel down the asian satelite to asian countries to promote Australia. I remember watching the first Adelaide v. Port Adelaide showdown in a bar on Koh Samui.
This has ceased the last time I was in Thai and I think you will find it very difficult now unless some other arangement has been made.

That Australian TV channel is back (ABC Asia Pacific?).

Last year I saw games on TV when I was in Bangkok so I'd be pretty sure they'd be shown in Pattaya too. I think they were beamed in on Foxtel rather than on the ABC.

In the end the hotel I stayed at had all of the cable channels and they carried the ABC Asia Pacific.
