Opticians in Phnom Penh

Hey Guys,

Has anybody had any experience of opticians in PP? I might be there max 10 days and thought it might be a good time to get some new frames. Will be a lot cheaper than getting them in the UK. The ones I have now are from Cozumel and are still good but I'm looking for a new style.

I'd like to know if 10 days is long enough to get them sorted. I'll probably go to the dentist again for a clean and polish as it's a lot cheaper than the UK.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of them just north of Central Market, St 61 and St 126. I got glasses a few times here for under $20 and took around an hour. There are dozens more scattered throughout the city, about the same as dentists.

Thanks mate. Did you have an eye test? How was their equipment? If not, did they take the prescription measurements from your original glasses?

They took from my old glasses. They do free exams, but I have no idea if the equipment is good or not.

Sounds good. Prices are a lot cheaper there compared to England. Might get two or three pairs. Just wondering now if they do laser eye surgery and how reliable is it.

For laser eye surgery i would prefere a clinic in Bangkok. Some of them have an excellent reputation, cambodia might me cheaper, but personally i would pay a bit more for reduce the risk to a minimum.
