There are normally about 300 from 21:00 on, most poor quality. i can hardly find 4 or 5 out of 300 that look decent. And the beer bars on soi 7 and 8 aren't much better.

Yeah....I was there a few weeks ago also and I would definitely disagree with his statement. There's more talent on beach road than he's indicating, and plenty in the beer bars on soi 7 and 8...at least plenty that are to my liking.
What area on Beach Road are we talking about? I wandered from Mike Mall area to the start of WS and didn't see much. It was around 9:30 10ish in the am though.
Should be plenty where you walked, but I'd say it gets busier the other direction from Mike Mall, at least during the day. Soi 7 & 8 still packed at night though too.
Will be in Pats for 11th trip 14 May. I always check beach. Had better luck first 3-4 trips, but I always look for short cute spinners, not everyone's choice. found short, not so cute spinner last trip in Nov, overpaid for her as she let me take photos. Found another cute girl on beach who was rude and surly, so I passed. Now that I think about it, asked a third girl who was very hot, she declined and referred me to her two very unattractive companions, which I declined. Since I am over 60 now, I do get rejections on occasion. There are always 300 on beach from soi 7 to WS after 9PM. Probably earlier but I don't look until after 9.
You are in the right spot, but I suspect way too early. There will be some, probably dozens, from soi 7 to WS in afternoon, and as I said about 300 at night.
Yeah I think definitely too early. There was only 6-7 yesterday from WS to the dolphin fountain between 10:30 and 11:30 am. Not a one caught my eye. There was more by Mikes Mall on the way back just after noon time. So for "Daytime" fl's it is hit or miss I would say. That said I did meet a honey on the baht bus coming back from TukCom along Soi Bua Khow
I guess when I saw Daytime FL's I assumed you were talking afternoon...it's slim pickings in the morning just about anywhere, though I think even by 11am you can start getting girls on Soi 6. That's pretty crazy.
Reading the article I'm not sure what jumped out more, that the guy paid a beach road girl 2000baht or that a taxi driver turned the girl into the cops instead of shaking her down for some $$$.
It was pretty bold of her to get the three guys to take the drugs....probably wasn't her first time doing this.
FL's in Patts are hard to find in the daytime, most lay low till the night time
I have rarely if ever seen them in the beer garden, beach road you will find a few.
My suggestion is to sport up for Soi 6. Prices and quantity of girls is really jam packed for what you get. Most places are 700 baht ST and usually about 300 for the BF and room. You can take them out and back to your room as well. Another option would be TQ1 (tahitian queen) on beach road. Sometimes they get some decent afternoon talent there at a reasonable rate
