Yes , paid members when looking at another members profile are given the option to send a PM. If that member does not have PM facilities then that option will not appear on their profile.

Charging for PM is nice. As a user AND as a business person, I have a better idea.

Charge for PM but let the person whom I send the PM, respond to my message regardless of his status (paid or free).

This is because, even if I pay for PM, there's no way for the other person to respond my message. So, for example, lets say someone is sharing a very nice FR and I want that number, I need to pay for the PM. I pay (because I want that number). But the person who shared FR is already having a number and he will NEVER pay just to respond my request!

Think over this. IF you can do this, you will see dramatic improvement in membership revenues.

I want to pay for PM. But I will not pay because person whom I will send PM, will not be able to respond.

Yes, you can put restriction such like, the free user can only respond my message. He can't create new message.

Well the Senior members all got free subscriptions and now dont get bombarded by PM requests from newbies.....you will have to come up with another explanation as to why they might have gone away

@joecoolfrog: I see myself as a senior member, but still am unable to view photos or PM. I would appreciate it much if you could look into it and sort it out.

    Thanks in advance.

Becoming a new senior member does not guarantee free subscription.

Read the first post of this thread, only those who were senior members at the time subscription charges were introduced qualified for free PM status . New Senior members may get awarded a free upgrade at some point , at the discretion purely of administrators , but this will be judged on overall quality of posts rather than just quantity.
This change was to stop members posting a lot of one liners and rubbish just to increase their post count , however we do recognise those who make an important contribution and they will be rewarded , so just be patient for a while.

    Hi
I have nothing to do with the financial administration of this site , if The Banker sees merit in your suggestion then no doubt he will take it into consideration. From a personal point of view I really cant see why there is a need to change a simple proposition , if one requires a vehicle to exchange information then subscribe, if not then dont.

I have been a member for many years and enjoy it. Reminds me of my "good ol' days" of Navy travels, especially to Bangkok, Pattya, Olongapo, etc. I am very happy to pay this nominal fee for a 3 year membership. Thanks for continuing a great site!

Ok I understand that I would only be able to PM other paid members. Hmmm...would like to pay coz there are several people that I would like to PM... BUT...I dont know if I would be able to until after I paid, coz I dont know if they are paid members...........sorry guys, but it does not seem too clever. Could you up your game pls. Why not let paid members PM whom ever they wish? Dont be stubborn. Do the right thing.

I think this is a good and valid suggestion. Paid members should be able to send and receive messages from any one (including non-paying members).
