Support the forum! Small charge for access to Private Message System to be started.

Due to increased expenses and decreased advertising revenues, this site will beging charging for the use of the Private Message System (PM) and the ability to view photos.

Everyone will still be able to read and submit posts for free. But if you want to be able use the private message system or view the photos, then you will need have a paid subscription.

Note: Senior Members will not be charged. Seniors will remain with full access. And going forward, "Senior Member" status will be awarded based upon the quality of the posts, and not on the quantity of posts as before.


This subscription fee will allow us to do some needed site maintainnce and other site improvements. There are a lot of costs in running the site which most people aren't aware of.


The tenative pricing is as follows:

$5.95 per month
or
$19.95 for the year

We will also try to setup a special promo where if you pay for two years, you get an extra year for free. ($39.95/total)

This charging will take effect about Jan 7, 2012

Sorry The Banker, I am against the imposition of charges for current members. Please remember that the forum is what it is today primarily based on the many contributions of active members. If the active members do not write FRs then what is there to read in the Forum? I have tried to review the adverts, etc. but those are years & years out-dated If you want to charge, you should charge (1) those who want to join from this year onwards, as they will benefit from all the info given by the active members & (2) those members who only take but do not contribute, i.e., those who do not write a single FR in a year or write 1 or 2 only in a year. Please consider these proposals. Cheers

As I understand it, the charges will only be imposed on those who are not senior members wishing to view pics and/or use the PM service.

It will still be free, but if you are "Johnny Noposts" looking at everyone else's input and then want to send PM's to get a girls number from another BM, you are going to have to pay for leeching off others.

Actually I am little bit sad for this kind of news because this forum was popular ALSO its for free.But I also agree that the forum should be alive to cover its expenses so its normal to put some charges for PM system.Maybe I can understand PM system can be charged for getting some info from other members,but on the other hand I request you to not put charge to photos for viewing.This also can prevent the members to put photos and share their experiences with others.
I wish this new system also helps the Forum to stay alive.

Though I support the idea, we must not forget that the USP of the site is that we do not have to pay. So instead of monthly/yearly subscription, I would suggest a one time joining fee. The amount could be worked out by the Administrator

On one side Moderators are asking for "not to ask for contacts in forum but via PMs" and by making PMs chargeable everyone will have no choice but to pay the fees...very few ppl will left who will just read the frs....how much this percentage works out....? I guess idea of onetime joining fees will be more better.

You are speaking only about certain of the Indian sections, the vast majority of this forum's members do no consider this to be purely a contacts site and do not endlessly spam threads begging for numbers.

Well, best things in life aren't free anymore, thanks to the banker admin who has decided to play the big daddy of capitalism. I guess this is what Marx had in mind when he coined the word "bourgeois"... even exchange of info about hoes now comes with a price-tag! No wonder Marxism was crushed to an untimely death by the capitalists. Mongering is now even more expensive in 2012, after all hadn't the Mayan's predicted so? My heart-felt sympathies for those wandering hermits who never post an FR but promptly fire a PM to the author of every new FR, pestering for details.

You are having a laugh aren't you? I don't recall Marx ever saying that everything should be free. Nobody is saying you have you have to pay unless you want to use the PM or view the pics. As for your suggestion of spamming the board with one word posts, other than displaying someone's cheapness what benefit is that to the board?

It cost's money to keep this forum open. I don't recall Marx ever saying that the Banker should subsidise us out of his own pocket, because that is the alternative unless it is closed down. Most amazingly, there is an offer that can reduce the cost to 4 cents (US) per day (INR 2.1) and you choke at this. Amazing!

Regarding qualitative-v-quantitative, we don't come here to see X answering Y with "Thanks for the info". We come here to learn from others.The more I think about it, the people who put in quality posts are what we come here for, and it makes sense to me that posts that contribute nothing should not be counted.

6$ per month (300 INR) aint tht bad guyz...icompared to other similar websites..whenever u need to exchange a contacts..just subscribe the monthly package...as simple as that..i think its fair... wsg is amazing..i have met a lotta genuine people in wsg..thanks to wsg...

i kinda like the idea of one time payment for the senior members..

p.s moderator plz consider.. net banking & debit card as payment option..in india paypal sucks bad customer care n fraud..70% of indian people dont use credit card coz of credit card fraud..i myself have lost lotta money through fraud so stopped using it..hope u consider my request
