Trust me on this, you do not want to be caught with drugs. The Thai gov't is very strict on the subject. It won't be something you can bribe the tourist police to let you go. I don't think they would bust you for anything from the pharmacy. You could always overdose on vit V and walk around with a chubby!

Another thing to remember is the Pattaya Police recruit ex-pat volunteers to do undercover work and there is also a reward for turning in a Falang. So Beware!

DO NOT take drugs in Thailand. It's a wonderful place but drugs are frowned upon.
I was there three weeks ago and a Guy from the UK was arrested selling drugs. He will never see freedom again and may well get the death penalty (shot in the head)
My friend was unfortunate enough to be jailed for fighting last year. 16 people to a cell, unbearable heat and dehydration. They gave him a raw fish head sticky rice and a very small glass of water every 24 hours and that's it.
He will never fight in Thailand again He assures me!
The Police are the most corrupt little Hitlers on the Planet and they will never take your side if a Thai is involved.

That's good advice you've been given on drugs in Thailand and if you're wise you'll follow it.
However, I've bought marijuana there loads of times and never had any problems. I don't reckon I'll be doing again though. I think I've pushed my luck too far already.
But if you're still interested this is how I did it:
The first time a girl I spent a few days with in Bangkok offered to get me some and I took up on the offer. Good stuff too. That was very risky because she could have told the police for part of the bribe money I would have had to pay. She didn't but I took one hell of a risk.
After that I bought it on the street in Pattaya. If you go down Walking Street or Beach Road late afternoon you often get some seedy looking Thai male loudly whispering marijuana and cocaine to you. I would walk by a few times to try to suss them out but not reacting to their offers. If I felt safe enough, I would nod my head to let them know I was interested. They would then want to do the deal right there and there in public. Jesus Christ!!! No thanks.
I would then suggest that they follow me and then we walk together for a few hundred yards to deflect attention and come to agreement over price - usually about 3-400 baht for a bag. I really didn't want to spend too much time bartering. I just wanted to get the deal over and done with. Whatever, they asked for I'd knock them down 100 which they accepted easily enough.
After we'd come to an agreement, I say I'd meet them a few hundred yards down the road and I'd walk until I'd come to a place where there were as few people as possible. Difficult in Pattaya. I'd then do the deal as quickly as possible. Sometimes I'd even do it as we were walking and exchange the goods and money hand to hand without moving my arm above its usual hanging position by my side.
I'd then want to get the hell away as soon as possible and make for one of the sois and onto Second Road with my heart beating ten to the dozen. I'd then get on the first baht bus or maybe a motorbike taxi back to my hotel.
The stuff is nearly always the real thing and pretty good. I was once given wood chippings and once bought something I was told was cocaine but was absolute crap and made me very ill. I'd never buy tablets or pills on the street. Whatever fake stuff they put in them can do you a lot of damage. If you do get ripped off, there's absolutely nothing you can do and it's not even worth thinking about.
Once you get the stuff back to your hotel, your problems are certainly not over. What if somebody finds it such as the cleaner or your Thai companion. Don't trust anybody with that knowledge as you will be putting yourself at risk. Having said that, I did have a smoke with a girl who I had spent sometime with. She was so stoned that she was no use to me in bed and got so paranoid that she wouldn't let me touch her.
Hide your stash very well. Unscrewing the back of your TV and keeping it in there is one idea. Don't smoke it in front of the girls. It just ain't worth the risk. I often used to have a joint before I went out for the night. I wouldn't need beer then. I've had some brilliant times just sitting at a bar in Walking Street stoned just watching all the action go by. You really see things in a different perspective and they seem that much more fascinating.
I like a joint before sex too. The stuff I smoked in Thailand gave me incredible extended orgasms which seemed to last for about five minutes. The problem is that it's really hard to get rid of the smell, even with the AC on full blast. One hotel I stayed in had a balcony and when my Thai girl was having her obligatory shower I would go out on the balcony and smoke a joint. There was no danger of her smelling anything then. I used to be shit scared looking down at the drop below though. The sex after was often fantastic.
Good times!!! But I don't think I'll be doing it again.
The last time I stayed in the Nana last January, the porter who carried my bags to my room offered to get me some Thai stick. No way. If you do buy something, it has to be from somebody who cannot trace you and does not know where you are staying. If they know that, it's easy for them to set you up with the police and you don't want that.
I don't think that buying marijuana on the street in Pattaya is quite as risky as everybody says if you follow my advice. But you have to follow it to the letter. But iit's obviously a risk and if you do get caught the consequences can be very bad. Most of the people who find themselves in trouble for various reasons do so because of their own stupidity, and there's a lot of them about. Too much alcohol gets a lot of people into bad situations and I don't think it's good for sex either.
Personally, I think you'd be better off not doing it. But at least you've heard another side.

Drugs In Thailand....I'm sure that amongst the ex pats etc it goes on. They can control it better.so there is les Danger. But as a tourist you must be mad... You dont know at what point you might piss someone off or be set up??
If you get caught.... You might walk away if you hand over £3000.00 there and then. Bt i doubt it. Also as mentioned... you cant trust a lot of expat there. They have their own reasons for helping the Police.
But I understand that once you ar ein jail drugs can be easy to get if you have the money and fancy becoming a addict !!
And lat but not least... If Steve jones is your real name.. I reccon its been added to The Thai Police data base. The Thai Goverment read all forums like this.
O yes... Some times IN BKK they pull everyone out from clubs etc and drug test EVERYONE. could happen in Pattaya also.
Thanks for your comments Agency and you're obviously right about a lot of things. The times I was talking about were well before the piss tests and as I wrote, I really don't think I would do it again.
I've read a lot of your replies on this forum and I get the impression you don't take the trouble to properly read the subject matter you're replying to or commenting on. I gave a lot of detail about how I made sure the person I was dealing with couldn't trace me so I couldn't be set up. I also said how important it was that no Thais knew what I was doing. But it seems to me from your reply that you didn't read that. It makes your replies and sweeping statements very hard to take seriously.
Of course my real name is Steve Jones. I expect now that all the Steve Jones's who visit Thailand will be immediately arrested and spend the rest of their lives in a Thai jail.

Come to think of it, although I readily I admit that what I did was risky and I don't think I'd do it again. Considering the precautions I took, I don't think it was a risky as you shagging trannies up the arse.
