Does anyone know if proff of a yellow fever shot is needed to enter gambia (do they check?) Also it seems quite hard to find girl friendly hotels with pool and aircon! can this really be true or am I missing something?

Aircon and pool; in the hotels for sure possible; but not gf
Enter rules are changing; last year they havnīt asked;
important: From europe by air is an other point than by
land from an african country
I got my injection in Mombasa
Gents; what about the ATMīs

14.03-11.04; meet you at Binis. I ll sending you my mobilnumber
after bought simcard via pn.
A buddy would be nice for a pool session. I ve rent an apartment;
no problem for me to visit somebody and paying the entrance to your hotel.
The beach at the tourist area is full of hasseling boys; only
south; Bijilo the situation is better; Bamboo Beach Bar f.ex.

Guys, what would be the best foreign currency to bring to gambia (UKpound, usd, eur)?

It was a former british colony; but Pound and Euro is ok; Dollar i donīt now because
itīs to easy to copy this currency; furthermore 2 times changing is loosing money

Bro; i recommend you a sweatshirt; Westafrica can be cool; maybe you ll need it at the evening.
and iīm sitting everytime a bit covered at my beach bar; itīs not like Kenya

Steve,Oslev, Yes we have just come back from Kololi. The ATM near Senegambia hotel in Kololi is working fine for Visa Debit Card. BUT!!!! i only got an exchange rate of 42 Dalasi to Ģ1 whereas i was getting 47 locally for cash. plus they charge about Ģ3 per transaction fee. (this is with Santander Bank BTW) The maximum withdrawal is 4000 Dalasi.
i think you need to tell your bank you are going to Gambia before you go>
we are hoping to go back 14/3/12 and will buy the first Julbrews if you guys are arranging meeting.

Hi Osselv, I was not asked about yellow fever at all, arriving and departing by air from Manchester.
G/f hotels are a problem. Dont even think about Holiday Beach Club, real racist bastards! 1000 Dalasi a night for your guest.
Sarges is a good bet and i think The Mansea only charges 350 Dalassi a night guest fee.
Badala Park is supossed to be OK, biggest pool in Gambia but i have never stayed there.
unless you stay somewhere like Senegambia Kariba etc you will pay a lot for A/Con as an option, but most hotels do have it. Nights are cooler and i only take a fan but even for that you must pay extra, about 75 a day.

yes, good idea, something to cover your arms at night.

Thx for your information. The rate with cards is a middle rate; fixed between the banks;
so itīts between buying and selling rates of he exchange huts. And 4000 Dalasi; is
round 100 ; stupid. I donīt wanna go so many times to that fucking machine.
My bank is paying the foreign fee

Thanks for all the advise guys. I read on another website (forgot the name) that there now is an ATM in the airport and that it was still only VISA they accepted.
Sounds good with the Julbrews.
