    Davao

TheBanker, I thank you very much for including Davao as a separate thread in the Forum. I hope this helps to attract numerous visitors both to the site and, eventually, to the city.

    Keep up the great work!

    Davao Again

I see that this thread is getting zero hits, which I guess means there's not alot of interest from guys out there in this city, which is too bad, since it's a great place. I don't want to bore anyone with places to go and the highlights of the nightlife, but I have lived there for more than a year and have gotten to know the place pretty well.

If anyone wants any information, or if anyone is contemplating a trip to Davao, and needs anything, please le me know.

    head in the clouds

    GE,

I've heard much about Davao from many sources for years that I have found appealing, but one major issue has kept me from considering a visit. I understand that Davao has banned smoking pretty much everywhere, and that they are actually quite serious about enforcing it. I would love find out I am wrong about that, so please correct me if I have been misinformed. I refuse to go anywhere that I cannot bring my customary cloud of tobacco smoke, to the delight of few and the horror of many, I am sure.

    Regards,

    Wastrel

Davao and Short Timers and Smoking

Wastrel: Nice to hear from you. I too am a smoker, and while it's true that smoking has essentially been banned in restaurants and bars, for the most part, this is not a problem. Places have adapted by creating smoking sections, smoking rooms, smokking lounges, as well as creating outdoor eating and drinking areas where smoking is permitted. For me, it's a minor annoyance, but nothing serious at all. Don't let it deter you from coming here. Of course, you can still smoke in your hotel room and most of the places we go here have huge outdoor areas, which is where most of the action is anyway.

Delboy, you asked about short term action, and it's a difficult question to answer only because there are so many options. First, there are the clubs, where you can hook up for long time, short time, or whatever you want. There are always the VIP rooms if you're looking for really short time. Then, there are the street hookers, readily available all over the center of town. Then again, there are lots of bars here frequented by semi-pros with whom you can hook up for a long or a short time, as you prefer. As far as the specific clubs, there are lots, but you could try Circle in the Square, Moonlight, Gallera, Hot Legs, or Itme's. In terms of the bars, try Halos, the Venue, Ralphs, Blue Note, or Someplace Else. For the semi-pros, try Bar 183 on Rizal St., Liquid, in the Apo View Hotel Totos in Casa Leticia, or the BLue Post.

Wastrel, having followed your posts for sometime, it would be a pleasure to welcome you here to Davao, cigarettes, cigars, pipes and all.

Oljoe's report from Davao City for Oct. 2004 (All except Trixie: f/lncrs ex street)

    DAVAO CITY

AMY 7/0/6 22/0 Arranged by local cop!!!! (Investigated credit-card scam) Beat Mama-san down from P.1500 to 900' lovely 4ft. 9in angelic creature but unable to enter due to tiny 'buto' despite generous lubrication. Lost track of time and suffered 4 hour Parkinsons horror episode; as a result unable to consummate despite co-operation.

KARA 5/5/5 23/2 P.700 Street pick-up. Amazingly tight pussy despite kids; exulted in deep, aggressive thrusting Awoken at 6am by her colleagues:

VANESSA 6/0/0 21/? & JULIE 6/2/0 23/0, Unfortunately immediately produced and fitted condom despite protests. After a few half-hearted strokes he tore the thing off, tossed them P.500 and ejected them

ROBYLYN 7/5/4 22/1 & ABE 5/4/5 30/1; Also arranged by cop. Premium price of P.2000 for both proved an expensive illusion. Indifferent performance and demanding personalities

JOYCE 8/0/5 18/0 Street P/u; seemed eager and acquiescent but on arrival after inept 'massage' pulled cherry girt' claim; she wanted to stay and watch TV but he ejected her with P.100. Shocked later when he emerged from hotel to find her in mama-san role pimping two other chicks.

TRIXIE 7/9/9 22/0 The jewel of the journey. Although loosely associated with the group below her relationship with Oj was separate and exquisite. Initially nervous and reticent she blossomed suddenly in first shower together by suddenly applying deep kisses then moving down and providing incredible BBBJ; explained learned her technique by studying porno videos. Had only two marvellous sessions with this princess before her reticence > intervened, resistant to all lures and promises. Only P.500 for all this exotica.

THE SUSPECTED SCAMSTERS: (Visa Card swindle) JUDITH (a.k.a. ODETTE) 3/6/9 (originally) 23/2 Known from previous visits and had proven ostensibly extremely friendly and supportive. The 'Den Mother" of Oj's retinue of five. Had best command of English of group,

    Others:

    AGNES 6/6/8 23/2
CUTIE 5/8/8 18/1 at 4ft 9in and the only one of the group to provide BBBJ's but not full-length variety.

    KAREN 4/5/7 21/0

    JAYCHIEL 5/6/7 19/0

    GIRLIE 3/3/5 24/1

JULIE 3/0/6 22/2 Recent caesarean meant she took no part in festivities. (Odette's sister)

Let's see if we can equal or perhaps surpass an admittedly impressive performance during your next visit. Let me know if you need any help booking the hotel. It's pretty easy for me to do from here.

    Back in Davao

I've been PM'ed (is this a verb?) by several guys from this board who were thinking of coming to Davao in the next couple of weeks. The purpose of this post is just to let you know that I'm back in Davao after a 10 day hiatus in Manila. I actually missed this place after about 5 days, so I guess that makes me almost a native.

Anyway, the sun is shining. We're getting on toward Summer here, so the temperature is creeping slowly upward toward C30, and the rainy season seems to have ended. All in all, it's probably a good time to come. There are new security measures at the airport, but they're no terribly onorous, and no one should have any difficulty coming through.

So to all of you contemplating your trips, come on down.

Ah yes, the bombing, not "bombings." There was, it's true, for the first time in two years, a bombing of a bus here in Davao. It happened in mid-February and a score of people have already been arrested for the crime. As I've indicated before, in other forums and here, Davao is generally a very peaceful, non-threatening city. This was an anomaly and admittedly pretty scary, though it appears to have been an isolated incident, timed to coincide with similar bombings in Makati and General Santos City. I do not believe it will recur any time soon.

It's no secret that there are pockets of unrest in Mindanao. For the most part, these locations are reasonably far away from Davao, and do not spill over into this city, where the Mayor has a very low tolerance for violence from any source.

This is not the wild west, and I would guess that the odds on becoming a victim of crime or violence here is less than on the streets of Washington DC. For those however, who are afraid, I would suggest staying away as fear is a large deterrent to having fun.

Can I just second GE's comments on the safety of Davao?I have visited the city maybe 12 times in the last 10 years(never once slept with a woman there though)and rate it way above Manila or Cebu, the people are just so laid back and friendly. As for the rest of Mindanao,I have been to Gen San and Zamboanga and seen less trouble than I have ever witnessed in Manila.Just keep switched on and confident and you will have a great time.

    Never slept with a Woman?

Thanks delboy, for writing that. Davao, in fact Mindanao in general, needs all the positive publicity it can get. I do not understand though, if you've been here so many times, why you never took a lady. Let me know the next time you're going to be here.

My wife was from Davao,we met in Hong Kong during the early nineties, had some great times together but unfortunatly she died three years ago,I always visit her family whenever I am in Asia and drop in to Davao memorial to lay flowers,I guess I never felt like sleeping with anyone else when she was around. As for the safety of Mindanao I have honestly never felt the least bit threatened or intimidated, even when I went to Jolo or Sitangkai in the Sulu islands with a Badjao friend,I even went down to Sabah "Back-Door" with these guys and had a whale of a time.

    Sorry.....

    Delboy:

Sorry to hear about that. I understand completely. Actually, I live with a woman here. We have been together for about 6 months, and I never, but never play around any more. I know a good thing when I see it. I have been to all of the places you mention, and also Basilan and most of Tawi-Tawi, and I have never once felt any fear, nor have I been treated with anything but perfect courtesy. People who have never been here should understand that, one the one hand, the position of the Muslims in Mindanao is roughly analgous to that of Afro-Americans in the early 60;s who were just starting to taste the fruits of the civil rights movement after decades of oppression and discrimination. It's going to take time, but the Philippines is committed, I think, to righting historical wrongs, and there are people of good will on both sides, so I'm optimistic.

    Robert:

The answer to your question from my point of view is that I have no idea. I have never done "short time" and I never negotiated for over night. I just paid the girl according to how I felt about her at the time and I never had a complaint. I do not think I ever paid more than P1,500 (about $27) here. To be sure, there are clubs here which offer VIP rooms for short time encounters, and I've had friends who have used these, but I never asked them what it costs.

As I have said many times before, the beauty of Davao is the opportunities it offers to meet "non-pros" for whom price and payment are not factors. If all you want is to screw hookers, you're much better off in Manila, Angeles City or even Cebu. In Davao, there are perhaps 10 clubs. In the other places, there are dozens, except for Manila which has hundreds. Davao is, without question, the best place I've been to succeed with "normal" women, but in terms of professionals, it's about average and probably not worth the trip.
