I am a bit speechless. What No food health inspectors in that country? Now I think I will eat in the supermarket.
Agreed Rits.. take her some place she likes. Not to impress, but bring a smile. (and to give her some much needed energy?.... Naw I did not mean that.... Lord I apologies and be with the pigmies down in New Guinie)

Nothing at all to do with mongering, only about the way that many in the PI are forced to live. It makes Isaan look wealthy by comparison.

Got to say, it is not the grammar and language I would expect from Japanese. Wonder if it was lifted?

I didn't want to mention about the food. My stomach still wretches at the thought of that part of the film, and I didn't want to put people off watching what was otherwise a very good doc.

I also agree that neither taste nor the quality of the menu's are good in Jollybee. So for me better to choose McDonalds if I really eat burgers or any chicken. I also agree to rits01 that if you give a chance to a girl to choose the place for eating, that would be much better for her to feel same like home. I tried 2 times to this when I was in Angeles city and each time I felt that girls feel much comfortoble and show more GFE behaviour towards me.

Worth watching documentary. Thanks for sharing the link JohnP.

Such a sad & grim life out there in PI. Parents practically know their daughters are probably going to be ravished by the mongers sooner than later, to make ends meet & sons will end up struggling like them. Just makes me hate the corrupt govs, their military-industrial nexus, the bloody vatican & the corporate leeches even more.
Respect + Comfort the girl == memorable experience [ well, mostly ]

I didn't see JohnP's post earlier but yes I saw this documentary (a series of 4-5 I think, other countries too).

I know Filipinas kind of expect their husbands to go out with other women for the night but I was surprised at my (Filipina) wife tonight when she mentioned going to Quezon city and I suggested I might go to some nightclubs... "as long as you don't catch disease" were her words! Do I take that as an invitation?

I spent 2 weeks in Manila in February, I also visited Cebu for 3 days. Background...Im african american, 43, great shape and nice looking.
The first few days i arrived in Manila was ok. I met with a few girlfriends from years ago (6 trip to Manila) for the first few days. Had the typical sex and watching hotel TV (Stone Inn, on Mabini Ave). I went to MBC every night, new faces, good guys to talk with....its all going great...so far.

I meet this average chick the first night, she wants 1500p, its all good. Then her friend (very unattractive) wants to tag along, I say OK. Because they want to buy some Shabu with their cut, OK, i understand. They come to room, they smoke, and one goes to the bathroom (hint, hint), white the other promptly underdresses and have decent sex, they swap up in 30 mins...its all good. After 2hrs, one claims that the deal was for 2500p...not 1500p. We argue, and I end up giving them another 1000p. Its all good, Im on vacation, right?

To make a long story short...over the next week, I have 4 girls from MBC. They all scam me out of a total extra 7000p; basically using the Shabu excuse. Im at fault because I allowed it, thinking that if i bought some Shabu (Meth), they would be more sexually active and stay longer...I was wrong. Buying drugs dont seem to help a Mongers situation in the Phillippinnes.

I go back to MBC, pick up another girl. On the walk home, these kids attack us and ask for change. I say no, and get out our way. Turns out, one of those kids took my wallet. I stop once i notice its gone. The girl im with pleads with these kids for an hour, and somehow, my wallet turns back up (no money of course). Im happy to just have my identification and credit cards back. Lesson learned...alway, always take a Taxi if u pick up a girl from MBC. Saving 100p is just not worth the trouble.

Anyway, the next day, i decide to take a ship to Cebu (1700p)...because I had never taken a ship in the Phillippinnes. The ship leaves at 12 noon...and doesnt arrive until 3 pm the following day. The schedule said 12 noon arrival...but no one seems to be upset except me. To make matters worse, I cant even get a picture on this stupid SuperFerry vessel...because no one will take the picture because Im black American. That caught me by surprise...but Im glad I asked, otherwise i would have never known. Evidently, they got something against Blacks and Americans, I say Americans, because I believe it was more than a race issue. Anyway...Ill move on...

I spend 3 days with my girlfriend in Cebu, we go thru this terrifying earthquake in the meantime (Just my bad timing). My girl is kool and we have a great 3 days. My last 2 days before i leave, I decide to go have beer in some strip club near Cebu Center, Black Hole?something. The barfine is 2200 p, so I end up just buying lady drinks (1800p), I should have just went for a girl once i entered. Indecisiveness is a killer for Mongers. Im out of my budget money and no girl or sex to show for it...damn. However, I did get great uncovered BJs, from 2 ladyboys that looked better than most woman i met in Cebu. I'll keep that part secret.

Because of the bad experience with SuperFerry, I caught a plane back to Cebu...about the same price (2000p). I have one week left.

I meet up with some more girls from MBC, we end up in bed (surprise, surprise). I decide to walk with them to Ecafe and gamble a little; but as we walk out the front door on Del Pilar Ave., we get stopped by the police. They say we are Shabu buyers (which we were) and they arrest all 3 of us. The police take us to this crappy police station. The police ask me all kinds of questions once they find Shabu on the girl. Somehow... they release BOTH girls and charge ME with possession. I just keep quiet and ask them to call the American Embassay. They say ok, they come back and say i can be released for 50,000 p. I didnt have it, i told them to arrest me. After a few hours of going back and forth, they agree to take my availble balance for the day. This is about 20,000p, they release me...broke and girlless after a few hours. Somehow the girls i was with got released with out paying anything...coincidence...I think not!

I decide to walk from the hotel at 10p, to go to the internet cafe (Ecafe) and transfer emergency funds to my account. Along the Mabini walk, a few beggers ask me for change, Im broke I tell them...and keep walking. Evidently, I wasnt broke...because this begger stole my cellphone. I didnt notice until i got to the internet cafe. At this point...Im broke, and just want to make it to my flight in 2 days, luckyly i paid the hotel in advance.

I somehow make it 2 more days, and get another 5000 p, to have another drink and girl, but this trip was horrible and i cant wait until my flight to Los Angeles, CA.

Overall, this was a horrible and expensive trip. The women were attractive and cheap (if you can control the situation). But I was very very disappointed in the way I was robbed, disrespected,an played like a fool. Race had nothing to do with it (IMO), they just played me like a dumb ass Gringo, lesson learned. These woman in the Phillippines will leave u homeless and starving on the street if you arent careful.

How many times you been to the phils before this mis-adventure? I am non plussed, its too much to digest. You actually made the these decisions and choices?

I dont get the picture part. You are on a ferry for 24+ hours and no one will take your picture after you hand them your camera?

You are one of the luckiest people I've ever heard of.

As to the girls playing you etc - you have chosen to feed on bottom - not only BGs , but LA low-end skanks (plain and below - your words); not only that - you have chooseb to hang with shabu- addicts (and no, not all LAC girls are shabu addicts) - and you have also chosen to partake in their shabu festivities. You could have easily get yourself killed, jailed for life or bereft of tens of thousands of US dollars - but all your damage was less than 500 $.

I guess somebody up there really likes you...

You have not been to the area of Ermita I see.
You are correct, there are people that will leave you poor till yer homeless. But thats all over the world
    Mistakes
Fucking around with Shabu girl at all and worse buying there. You know what PH jails are like? Nothing like ours in USA
You ever think these type may have STD to boot?
Not keeping what you don't need only at the hotel safe when you go out. Got an expensive phone? leave it in the safe, coz can't steal what you don't have. Only enough money for drinking for you and whomever. Thus the beggers get nothing. I will be going to cebu soon and the hotel must have a inroom safe for me to staythere and of course GF
Did you know what the cost of lady drinks are before you went?
The girl wants to aurgue? Call up security and they will throw them out for you. Some hotels call up to the room before the girl leave the building to make sure things are kosher.
Not knowing about Ermita before you go. Not getting a taxi (Taxi: I did this but luckly it did not cost me) There are safer places even in Manila

You helped raised my level of awareness for up coming trip to Cebu

"I dont get the picture part. You are on a ferry for 24+ hours and no one will take your picture after you hand them your camera?"

Well, 2 guys seperate guys (one phillippine and one european) didnt want to help me take a pic, I found that disturbing and didnt think it was coincidental. And i didnt think it was a big deal to take a photo, there were many others taking photos when we arrived in Cebu.

As for being 'lucky', Ive been to the Phillippines several times over the past few years. Id say almost 80% of the women i met at MBC go run off and get Shabu after a 'date'. These werent the 'low-end' skanks you probably date either. These women were nice and healthy looking at least.

rits01, you are sadly mistaken if you think you never dated someone from MBC who uses Shabu. I will go on a limb and place 75% of MBC as Shabu users. Maybe not that much in Angeles and Cebu, but certainly in Manila's MBC.

Also, as i recall, not one minute was I actually hand-cuffed or restrained in any manner. They just paraded me by this jail holding cell with at least 50 people locked in a cell...and threatened to put me in there if i didnt pay up. They never called the Embassy either, it was just a scheme to scare me...which worked very well. I know this will sound weird and unbelievable, but 3 police actually took me to dinner (with my credit card) and talked about life before they let me go...Im serious.
