I got ripped off at a club called Plus (sometimes Plus show, plus experience, etc.) on Stefan del Mare st. opposite the Hotel Chisinau. They are the closest club to Hotel Cosmos, Hotel Chisinau, and a variety of other hotels so they are very tempting to visit. The girls are in addition attractive making it even more dangerous.

The cover to enter was around 10 Euros and a private dance 50-60 Euros (very expensive for Moldova) but I paid this as it was my first night in town and I didnt want to go clubbing. Then the girls will consistently try to order drinks and eventually after the private dance (not a good one btw) I said yes to one drink for the one girl--the cost 100 Euros (I find out later despite asking)!! In addition, the girl also agrees to come visit you after her shift or during the next day but then asks for some money in advance (hhahaha)---needless to say, she doesnt show. I dont think anyone would fall for that scam but I mention it anyway...

This is the same scam I see pulled in Budapest, etc. on other travelers but this is the first time I have seen it in Moldova...AVOID THIS PLACE!

Why go to a club in the Republic of Moldova ? Everybody (should) know that prostitution is illegal in this country and that Moldovan girls suffered so much from women traffic that the local police struggled againt procurement with efficiency. So clubs can be only show clubs without sex.

Another fact has been pointed out in the forum and the sexguide : you will notice that prices have skyrocketted for 10 years. In the early 2000's you could get a girl for about 10 €, or spend the night with her for $ 100.00, then prices reached $ 150.00 or € 150.00. In 2006, I could spend 4 hours with a good girl for € 100.00, but in the last reports, you will notice that Moldovan girls request € 150.00 for just one hour.

This means you need to be carefull since money has become more important than a few hours of sex.

yes, these strip clubs all seem to be the same. the same thing exists in romania. they exist to extract as much money from you as possible.

if you're looking for a girl, find a way to meet the average girl. not all are available, of course. but many are looking for jobs now, or ways to supplement their small income. prices are still very reasonable. often she won't even quote you a price before agreeing to go home with you. (doesn't want to appear as a prostitute! ) you can give 50 euros and you're likely to be getting more of her, and that may be overdoing it! i have a group all of which i can give less than that for!

You can find lots of girls for cheap but you must be also careful that they are not trying go back to your place to rob you or take your wallet when you go to take a piss.

If you want cheap.... if you hang out at McD's on Stephan you will find girls waiting to meet foreigners. Be careful not to take them to the clubs as they will take you there with such promises for later and will disappear during the night.

But be careful.... as you have huge chance the girl could be working with police have you bribe them and they can split the bribe money.

good advice there. also want to add that she might expect you to pay for all of her friends, too!
do NOT. just try to get her to your place as efficiently as possible (sitting down for a drink
first is acceptable)
