Reynosa Mexico Alert 2 Guys Money Robbed By Police

heads up guys , a W.S.G. member went to reynosa boys town , they got in a taxi in boys town and when they started to leave boys town at 4:30 am a cop car was in front of the taxi later on the way to the bridge the cop turned and went around the block and came up to the taxi from behind with lights on , taxi stopped and one cop came to the taxi and made the guys get out and searched the guys , one guy had $20.00 in his pocket and the other guy had $40.00 , the cop took there money and left. i live 10 miles from reynosa , i stopped going there many years ago , ive been robbed but not in boys town. in boys town me and a friend were arrested for nothing so im never going back there anymore . just wanted to let you guys know about whats going on . the cops see americans and see $$$$$$$$$$$$.

I find this a little hard to believe unless the guys were doing something illegal. I've been stopped on that very same road, searched, and let go because (duh ...) I don't deal in drugs or weapons.

I did have a Municipal Cop try to get $100 for a speeding fine a few weeks ago but I cussed him out so loudly that his friends just started laughing and changed the subject to motorcycling rather quickly. The usual fine for speeding is maybe $20US.

So with this story there is an element of either bullshit, or someone had to pay the Stupid Gringo Tax for something that they did.

You don't have to be doing anything illegal to get robbed by the cops in Mexico. I've been robbed twice by them, and wasn't doing anything illegal.

I drove over to Reynosa and got pulled over by the cops and was extorted for a fine ($40.00) that went right in the cops pocket. No paperwork, no documentation. If you think Mexican cops won't rob you well...you better think again. They are worse than the regular crooks over there.
