Hey Phil, not sure how many hotels you have stayed at in China, but they are not all girl friendly. I would say about 50% are girl friendly.

I have stayed in many Hotels all over China. I never had any problems taking a Chinese girl to the room. I have stayed in 3-5 star hotels. I am doing business in China for a number of years now and have an apartment now in Shenzhen.
Never had any problems with the security as well. The girls never had to show her I.D.
Only one small hotel in Shenzhen objected having two girls in the room late at night. They let me bring the girls in around 9 pm with no problems. They knocked on the door around midnight and told me I am not allowed to have 2 girls stay in the room all night. They said one is ok. Maybe it was the noise the girls were making. My neighbours must have complained.

I have come accross one hotal in beijing that is definitely not girl friendly but did not try to find any 'inhouse' service - maybe the non-g/f attitude was aimed at directing business to the inhouse girls.

Other places have included smaller country towns where the 11pm visitor curfew is strictly enforced and no girls unless known by the hotel staff and those known girls are definitely not for 'business'.

Having said that quite a few hotels in beijing rent their rooms by the hour and have a stable of girls to choose from if you do not bring you own.

Most hotels in beijing are girl friendly, even the government owned ones,I was actually asked at a state guest house 'wheres your girl friend, did you not bring one'.

So far 100% no problems either.
Shenzhen: SwissHotel, Kempinski, New World Hotel.

I usually tell the girls to stick with me, and not to trott 3 meters behind me after getting off the taxi.
When passing the security guy, I smile and we walk straight to the elevators.

If you are back early and the Hotel Bar is located somewhere on the upper floors and is still open, you can always say that you just go to the Bar.

But as I've said, never had to pull that story.

I agree with Phil...

Hotels are girl friendly. But if you start by talking to hotel staff of getting a girl, then they will maneuver you to a point where they get you the girls...this happened to me...just take them to the room...don't ask...sometimes..they stop..and make the girls surrender their id's or register downstairs...

I will be in shenzhen in 2 weeks...

If you are staying in a reputed international 5star, it makes sence to have a girl with modest dress.

Sunshine Hotel is girl friendly however you might have some problem if the girl comes after 11pm. They have a security guard sitting right in front of the elevators. At least it was this way last year when I stayed there.

One of the girl told me they pay the bell boy after they finished their business. So generally there is no problem with brining girls from the streets in sz.
