    First trip to Pattaya

Hi guys, planning on my first trip to the home of mongering this year and wanted to get the great wisdom of those whom have been before. I know that there is a lot of info on the forum, but also know that things change regularly. What is the general pricing policy out there and the process? I don't want to go there throwing out cash and just ruining it for others.
Do you pay the girl or the bar?
    Whats the policy on tips?
Do you have to negotiate everything in advance with the girl or the mamasan?
Is there any come back if the service is not what you expected?
Whats the best place/area to be in?
Also any do's and don'ts that you have with all your experience.
I'm really looking to have an amazing time on my first trip and hopefully with your advice I can avoid common newbie errors.
    Thanks for the advice

In general, the go-go girls are 2000-3000 long time or 1000-1500 short time.
The beer bar girls are 1000-1500 long time or 500-1000 short time.
Barfines at the beer bars are 200-300, at the go-gos are 500-1000 baht.

Do you pay the girl or the bar?
You pay the barfine to the bar and the rest to the girl.

    Whats the policy on tips?
There is no policy. If you like her and her service, Then give her whatever you want. A tip of a couple hundred baht is plenty and would be appreciated, but don't ever go higher than 500.

Do you have to negotiate everything in advance with the girl or the mamasan?
This has sometimes happened to me. I try not to because it really takes away from the mood. In my experience, when they've tried to quote a price or even tried to get the money in advance, it's a good sign that the service/attitude is very poor.

Is there any come back if the service is not what you expected?
No. Just pay the standard or what you agreed on, don't tip her, and don't ever take her again. If you try to shortchange her, you're being an asshole and could be provoking a confrontation. Just learn from your mistakes and next time, avoid that type of personality.

Whats the best place/area to be in?
For your first trip, get a hotel room on or between Pattaya Beach Road and Second Road. This will put you on the main baht bus loop so you can get anywhere for 10 baht.

Also any do's and don'ts that you have with all your experience.

    Thanks for the advice
It's okay to have a favorite as long as she's not the ONLY. Believe me, you aren't her ONLY.
Try not to fall in love and, even more so, don't expect her to fall in love with you.
And for God's sake, don't send money to a woman in Thailand when you're not in Thailand.
    "What kind of erection, sir?"

LK Metro is a nice hotel and in a good area...but there are certainly hotels just as nice for cheaper. I like areca better (nicer pool), I've heard good things about Sunview place. There's plenty of places around Soi Baukau (sp?), probably best to pay for one night and walk around and have a look for yourself.

There shouldn't be a problem in finding a room on LK Metro (the street). As you noted, there are several guest houses with reasonable rates and good value for money. From what I'm reading on this board and elsewhere, low season looks to be very low indeed this year, so supply will exceed demand.

Whether showing up without a reservation is a good idea depends on your tolerance for inconvenience. I don't how you'll be arriving in Pattaya (taxi? bus?), but it's no fun to be dropped off and then have to lug around a suitcase while looking for accommodation. Unless you're traveling very, very lightly, it's usually best to have a room booked at least for the first night, then search for your "real" hotel the next morning.

But if you travel with a backpack or overnight bag, then it won't be a problem in any way, shape or form to arrive without a reservation.

    Pattaya report

Stayed recently in Pattaya on my virgin nine day trip. Thanks to all contributors with miles of Walking Street behind that made my experience a great one. My choice of a hotel for this trip was Sabai Resort.

Beach Road: dozens of 500 baht short time girls round the clock, most of the doable ones have got no ID or it is fake or else, some desperate housewives or just dogs. If you are adventurous or can lower your standards here is your bargain. I haven’t found anyone there.

Beer bars: Mostly a waste of time unless you enter a bar, see a girl and bar fine her in a minute and then drop your baht for a Heineken or two and general chit chat.

Best go-gos: Peppermint and Happy. These two will never disappoint you. Be mentally prepared to pay top price for a prime rib.

Walking Street: Best place to pick up freelancers opposite Lucifer’s or walk from the entrance to Tony’s.

Best experience: sweet sisters act, unforgettable

Worst scare: paranoid thinking that you did it with a ladyboy

My thanks to Aoy, Net, Bee, Siriwan, Nam, Nui and Pl, sisters Pin and Tal, and also to all Poos and Moos that got away.

Glad you had a good trip, you can also get beer bar girls for 500B ST + the BF
The only problem with FLs Is you have to be careful you don't get robbed, never happeaned to me, but If she has no ID card you have to wonder why?
Is It because she wants to borrow from your room? Or has she been In trouble with the Police. Also If she hasn't got a ID how you gonna know her true age? She could be under 18!

Did you BF many WS gogo girls? How much where they asking for?

    Pattaya gogo prices

    hi, jerboa

    here is my gogo record:
    1,500+600=2,100 LT, 2,000+600=2,600 LT, 2,500+600=3,100 LT, 1,000+400=1,400 ST, 2,000+400=2,400 LT

One cutie quoted 3,000 LT but that was too much for an occasion. I paid twice for a colombiana but was quite reluctant to do the same with a thai girl. My mind has played a trick on me.

Basically the owner of Boesche told me no one gives a shit how much it costs when on a vacation. Next time I will pay it. Well, under a condition that she gets a third of it if she suddently has a period or her aunt is sick.

Thanks Questner Pattaya has become expensive 3000B Is up there with Bkk prices, yes the girls obviously hope you will agree to their price, thinking so little money for a farang. True but by constantly over paying like has been said so many times the bargirls are getting spoilt, and It's now ruinned for us mongers.

Another don't is Don't take the bargirl along on your trip to the airport for you're flight home. I did it my second trip and later noticed how tacky it looks for all these guys to be giving these tearful good byes to whores. The girls go in hopes you just hand her your handfull of leftover baht (Thai money) instead of changing it back into your own currency.

Also never take a Bangkok bargirl along to Pattaya as company. It's like taking sand to the beach. If you find a bargirl you really like and want to travel with her, Chaing Mai or Koh Samui are the places to take her as both are very scenic and don't have much action. Samui has a few beer bars, Chiang Mai has next to nothing. Patong Beach Phuket however has about 1000 bargirls so no need to bring one there.

Best advise is to avoid the Gogo's as most chicks rush the fuck and run out demanding more than beer bar girls charge for all night. Have a drink, look around, but expect about two-thirds of the gogo girls to want high prices and not want to spend the night with you.
