Legal Situation in Germany Unchanged

In 5/2008 prostitution is still 100% legal in Germany, only pimping and trafficking are not. No changes are in sight and no German special interest groups seem to be lobbying against the status quo.

The legal age of sexual consent is 14 y o, for prostituting oneself it's 16 y o (but this cannot take place in brothels).

Contrary to propaganda in the witchhunt media, according to the newest statistics from the BKA (the German FBI/Scotland Yard) in 2006 there were only 353 investigations for trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, 97 of which were for allegedly trafficking German citizens out of the country. Of the remaining 256 there were ZERO cases of trafficking of children (under 14), and only 62 were of minors (under 18). Most victims actually were above 21 and came voluntarily. Even though just one case of so-called sex-slavery is one case too many this seems an amount not worthy the media hype, compared to the total estimated >1 million prostitutes legally working in Germany.

So don't let the propaganda scare you away from the pussy paradise that is Germany.

Do you know if those statistics are available online (preferably in english)? An article in Spiegel from May 26, 2006 (http://www.spiegel.de/international/...418206,00.html) says "The Federal Criminal Office estimates that there are 140,000 forced prostitutes in Germany." As a monger myself, I'm not trying to attack mongering as a whole. I'm just trying to get a handle on the trafficking situation in Germany and other places. I think anything that mongers can do to avoid establishments/people, etc., that are linked to trafficking is good for mongers overall. Part of the problem, as you suggested, is the hysterical propaganda that makes it sound like all prostitutes are victims and all clients are criminals. I'd like to cut through that bullshit and get a more realistic understanding of the issue.

Don't believe the hype. You shure you read the Spiegel correctly? Some estimate that 140k is the TOTAL number of professional protties in Germany.

In the FKK clubs and licensed brothels you can be quite sure that the girls are legit, due to self policing by the operators and occasional immigration police raids. The discriminating, mostly bourgois clientele of the FKK clubs would smell a rat right away, too.

In my experience close to 100% of the crack hoes in USA are forced into the biz, by addiction, pimps or pushers. In Germany I bet 99% of the hookers do it voluntary. Best advice: don't frequent street girls ANYWHERE.
