I’m in Beijing now staying at the Great Wall Sheraton. I arrived yesterday and my tour guide met me at the airport and after checking in the hotel we did some sightseeing.

Either I was lucky or things are not as dead as it seems.

I had company every night by just walking out of hotel in front of HRC. BTW the HRC is open for the gift shop and when I went inside they were renovating.

I didn't make it to wangjing but spent time with someone else, trip into beijing city then dinner and my place for the night - a long time g/f .

I was in central Beijing city over the weekend, noticed that many more BBS in the lanes are closed.

Also in the subway stations they have a new ticketing system, swipe cards only, no paper tickets and they are installing airport style x-ray machines. You have to buy a swipe card at the ticket office, not sure of the cost but any single journey, anywhere on the subway is now two yuan even if you change trains a couple of times but airport subway line will cost extra and is not part of the 2 yaun anywhere scheme.

Many more security guards now in central Beijing and no street walkers to be seen.
