Are US marines coming to Pattaya this May?

My friend has told me that 10,000 US marines are coming to Pattaya on the 4th of May for about a month. He said it may be difficult to find proper girls there when so many marines are looking for fun. Has anybody heard anything about it? I'm coming to Patts for a couple of weeks on the 4th of May and would like to know what to expect in advance.

They have Cobra Gold every year. Around 8000 Marines descend on Pattaya.

The Cobra Gold exercise runs from May 8 to May 21 this year. I arrive in PTY on May 8 for 10 days and am not worried. Lots of girls to go around...

The Marines don't have "medics" as their medical services are provided by the Navy. I seriously doubt that a Navy Captain gave you a BJ...but I could be wrong.

Perhaps you mean Leutenant whose collar insignia looks like that of a Marine Corps Captain. Nevertheless, as a jarhead myself, I just don't see the BJ happening.....

The soldiers usually have a curfew (I think it was midnight last time), so they'll be out of the bars and into the short-time hotels before then.

Anyway, I guess Pattaya doesn't have proper docking facilities and the sailors and marines are brought to shore on small boats (at least this is what he told me). He said the girls stand on the shore line and wave to the sailors as they come in. He said some sailors in his "wing" got in a lot of trouble in Pattaya and tossed in jail. So of course he was held responsible.

My question is, why would the MPs care if marines or sailors visited massage parlors and barfined girls? Isn't that why they are brought to Pattaya in the first place?

There was something put out a few months ago due to what has happened in the philippines and okinawa lately involving Marines. If they are in port, the SP will be watching close, so they may not even go to walking street. Couple months ago, the standing order was anyone caught in a place of prostitution (yes I know, it's illegal in thailand) they would face court marshall when they return to ship. Even the Corpsman and Marines I saw in Angeles were still a little on edge when they weren't even there with their unit, they had taken leave on their own.

Hopefully, these orders have gone away since being on ship sucks and that's really the reason everyone wants to go to Pattaya in the MarCorps.
