I have been to and posted information about the various places I have visited in my post divorce adventure. We are talking Ukraine, Russia, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, London, Bangkok, ETC. I have sung the praises of many of these places, particularly Colombia for example which I think is fantastic.

Well it's all crap compared to Argentina. I have been absolutely amazed here. I am in downtown Buenos Aires in an area called "microcenter". There are the highest quality of women at really great prices. There are many local apartment based services which provide excellent massages with sex for 100 pesos which is about US$32. There are cafes, for example Orleans, where the entire room is filled with 'professional' girls. They are all thin and range from pretty hot to frighteningly hot. That runs about 300 pesos which is a shade under US$100. Then there are places where you meet for sex straight up, that's typically 200 pesos which is like US$65.

The women here are very beautiful, some Hispanic, many are European looking. Many Germans and Italians settled here which may account for that. Many women are here from Paraguay and other South American local nations.

It's all very mellow, everyone is having a good time, no pressure. Women in South America think of men as the boss and the leader so you get a lot of respect and if you treat the girls nicely they really respond to that. Thailand, been there once, loved the place. Something keeps telling me to go else where. Costa Rica, loved the jungle scene and all it activities. Just not big enough nightlife for my liking.

Never been to Rio. I'm thinking about it, but what bothers me is, I tend to travel solo. I want to be a bit more comfortable if I head out at night.

Time to do my research on Argentina, I hear it was listed as one of the seven reasonable value wise places to visit.

The closest thing to the cafe in front of Help is Cafe Exedra. Which is closed and under remodeling. Hopefully to reopen in a month or so and the chicas will return.
There are good clubs and there are ripoffs. The three clubs on Suipacha are OK, but watch what you pay and ask first about the prices. The night clubs in Recoleta are for the most part good. It will cost you big bucks at these places. It is best to pick them up after 3am so they will not have to come back to work.
Stay out of the clubs on Carlos Pelligrini and all in the San Nicolas area (South of Cordoba). If go in by mistake, Never sit down!

I really disagree with this statement. Excedra's cafe atmosphere was not at all like Help. It was much more subdued than that. There was no dancing and there were never anywhere near as many girls there. Plus Excedra was always kind of a spot for older mongers unlike Help. In fact, the only way that you could make this comparison at all is because the Rio scene mostly takes place outside on the beach in Copa. Argentina is mainly an indoor more underground scene so Excedra used to be one of the only places where there was an outside sidewalk hang and you could look into the place like a fishbowl and see all of the goodies inside (although, usually, there weren't so many goodies). Still, unlike Help, Excedra was a regular cafe and sometimes there would be tourist females in there who had no idea that the men leering at them all thought that they were on the menu. There really isn't a club like Help in BA and there is no club like Excedra in Rio. The closest that I could think would be Cocodrilo, Newport, or maybe Madahos but neither of these places is really like Help either. As for the ripoff clubs on Pelligrini, realize that if you have some balls you can just get up and say I'm leaving and not pay a thing. You will know right away that things are not right and that they are trying to put the bite on you. If you try and get up and leave you most likely will not make it out the door. I know for a fact that one member from the other club, tried to leave. His bill was 300p. They took US$300. not pesos, and roughed him up a bit.

I my case, I got drunk, but not that drunk, something may have been put into my drink, at one of the better small clubs in the Triangle. I do not remember much, but I now do not have my cell phone, jacket and glasses. And I did get roughed up a lot. A month later and I still have some pain. They say I fell outside. I remember having 150p going into the place. They say I still owe them.
If you are drunk in Argentina, they look down on you, as if you were a piece of trash. Instead of trying to help you get home.

Wow!!! That's a pretty awful situation. I got suckered in to one place on Pellegrini when I first arrived in BA and I just blew the guys off and left. I was alone too. I don't make a habit of going to new clubs wasted and alone though and when this happened I was sober. There were three bouncer types and at first they threatened me physically, then they said that they were going to call the police so I told them to go ahead and call them. Then I said that I didn't order any drinks and I wasn't interested in staying and I was leaving and I did exactly that. They just sat there watching as I walked right out the door. Maybe it made a difference because I left as soon as I realized that things weren't right (which was as soon as I walked into the place). After that experience I only went to places recommended in the forums. If you have your wits about you and can speak Spanish I think that generally you can avoid these scams.
