    Question Your favorite Patty hotel

Iv mostly stayed in the Flipper hotels on soi 7 and soi 8 in the past. If I go this year I want to change this. The rooms etc here are very comfortable, but its a bit noisy for me around this area and often there are drunk guys around the pool in the daytime, ok if you like this sort of thing.

I do like the action to be within walking distance though. Iv stayed at the Welcome Plaza before, rooms not so good and they were charging me a joiner fee last time i was there. Swimming pool very nice though.

I have also stayed at the centre hotel before, and this is my favourite at the moment. It was gf last time i was there great location and people ok there. Food was crap though. Rooms good too. Swimming pool also good.

So if you go alone in Pattaya what hotel would you recommend, that is a good price, swimming pool and of course gf ? What is your favorite?

I got this list off hotel web site, and these prices look good and within my budget
Although the cheaper ones are past second road and some lack a swimming pool, not sure if they are gf or not.

Has anyone got any experience of staying at these or would you recommend them or any others not on the list - thanks.

Sir M, you don’t mention a budget or what facilities you expect so it makes it a little harder to recommend somewhere! But from what I’ve seen of the Sawadee Chain in Pattaya I would stay away. Sabai Lodge and resort is very good the cheaper rooms at the resort look VGV for the money. (I think JRC stayed in them trip before last) I’ve stayed 3 times in different rooms never been disappointed.

The new Pattaya Bay Resort has many fans but some complaints about noise from adjoining rooms!

I’m trying this one on my next trip looks good value but am awaiting a full report from a mate who is staying there at the moment.

But if your happy without a pool and just want a good clean room with friendly staff and a cracking bar downstairs I can highly recommend the Metro Apartments. Stayed 3 times and loved every one.

    Hope that helps.

No complaints with Sabai Lodge, prefered Sabai Resort but slightly more expensive.

This is what I look for with a hotel -----

Good location, must be within the baht bus route between beach road and second road.

    Must be girl friendly.

Must have private safe in the room.

Quiet location, away from noisy bars.

Room rate no more than 1600 baht

    requirements

Thanks guys, that gives me something to go on.

I would like a decent swimming pool, but maybe with that trip in the day to Koh Loh wont be so important. Ill take your advice and stay away from the Sawasdee chain.

    My main requirements are:

    1. GF of course - and this if im lucky may mean bringing back two.
    2. Comfortable rooms - prefer a safe, but have a portable one i can use.
    3. Quiet location, but walking distance to the main areas.
    4. Swimming pool
    5. Prefer under 1500 baht a night, prefer under 1000baht.
    6. Not the typical place the louts stay in - maturer clients basically, this does not necessary mean old..

Sorry for not making this clear at the beginning.

You may want to consider the Queen Victoria Pub on Soi 6, Keen Punter speaks very highly of it, obviously there is no swimming pool.

I usually stay at the Furama on Central Road, opposite the Top supermarket.

It's about 700 or 800 bts a night. It's slightly run down but is comfortable. No safe in the rooms unfortunately.

There's a swimming pool out the back but I can't be arsed swimming when I'm on holiday.

You have to pay an extra 300 if you bring back 2 girls.

    Talking Far, but good

On my first time, I stayed at Sawasdee Place (you can book at: http://www.hostelworld.com/availabil...-Pattaya-20716 )

It's 700 bath per night, pool, nice staff, and very GF (I had 2 TG for 3 & 4 days and nights, and nobody complained).

The only problem is the location of the hotel. Naklua is far from the action, but very quiet.

Well i dont get to do much swimming back at home, so its a luxury for me to be able to jump into a pool and do a few lengths... Can be a nice place to relax, some have real comfy recliners etc...

Since my first trip to Patty In '99 I've allways stayed at the White Inn hotel.
It's cheap and cheerfull, the staff are friendly and rooms are just 450B.
The hotel Is on 2nd Rd and the corner of Soi 16, round the corner from soi diamond. The only thing It's lacking Is a Internet connection.

Few years ago I stayed at the Grand Sole Hotel on 2nd road just north of central road. Newish hotel in a classical style (Greek ?).

Was around the 1000 - 1200 range. Can thoroughly recommend it - nice pool, big stylish rooms, free b'fast and paying slightly more for double occupancy over single occupancy didn't have any problem with joiner fees.

Through many trips to Pattaya over the years, I realised that joiner fee problems can be solved by booking hotel rooms for double occupancy - extra cost is usually minimal (i.e. 100 baht).

SirMarj, I know I have said this 100 times before but for the benefit of anyone new on here ------------

Booking a double room for two adults does not GUARANTEE that you will not be charged a joiner fee.
If the hotel is not girl friendly they will still charge you to take girls back unless of course the girl registered with you at the time of check in.
