Going to Jaco for three days in February looking for a nice hotel, girl friendly of course. Please recommend your favorite hotels my current reservation is a Claira's but I am reading good and bad. Any information on Claira's is also is also appreciated.
I stayed at the Copa Cabana when I was last in Jaco, not the cheapest option, but nice considering the alternatives. A couple times there were 10's at their little cocktail bar. I suspect they didn't like dealing with the Monkey Bar crowd and were happy to trade less opportunities/traffic for a more relaxed environment in the event they'd get lucky and get picked up by a Copa guest with a little extra cash. If the weather is unbearably hot at night, escape to a fairly decent air conditioned gentleman's club (about the only establishment in town with A/C). I don't recall the name but the taxi drivers will know it (at the time the only one in town). It's on the beach side of the main street one building down a side street (might be the corner building actually). You go up some steps to a second floor side entrance. Good music, soft couches, nice drinks...oh, and the girls are half bad either if you want some eye candy because you're all banged-out. I gather a lot of the girls use it as a way to connect with potential customers. The reason I remember this place so well is that I was able to hook-up with one of their dancers for free. She basically became my GF for three days. I nailed her over a half dozen times in return for a couple lunches, dinners, and drinks (at a regular bars). Never gave her a dime. She would spend the night and also seemed appreciate my air conditioned hotel room with satellite TV (it's the little things in life, eh...). She was a solid 8, about 22, named Nicole. I was about 34 at the time and in decent shape (to help provide a frame of reference). Copa is a very short walk to the Monkey Bar. The staff would also quickly and happily phone a cab when requested and you could enjoy a drink at their bar while you waited. Good hunting.
The value is better in San Jose. There are a couple of big touristy hotels, I doubt the big Marriott or whatever allows chicas.
Your best bet is to take a look at the room first. There are hospitable joints for $40 a night, two beds (often a wall between them), AC and no chica fees. Not the Ritz but some of the more expensive places (that one with the bar right on the beach by the big, American resort) are shit holes.
Beatle Bar and parts near are where all the action is at, get some girls numbers and get at them during the day (will be about half the price).

The Beetle Bar was the obvious spot, and after those places closed, everyone went to Central Discoteque. It seemed like every girl in the place (or in Jaco for that matter!) was a WG.

When I was there in 2005 I stayed at the Best Western. I had a girl with me from San Jose, and we did the all inclusive so she got a red wrist band and we were then able to walk past security with no hassles.
Otherwise, guests get stopped at the entrance and are asked for the girl to show ID.

I stayed at the Copa also, was a nice decision, comfortable suites room with a jacuzzi in the balcony just perfect for be with chicas, jiji, recently with the new adult area became a perfect piece of paradise inside the hotel, pool clean, girls walkin around in topless mmmm.... i like to much the cocktails !!

The hotel Cocal has a casino and the pool bar is a lot of fun in season. The rooms are about $60 and no problem with girls. I like it better than copa but copa is also good.

Went to Jaco this past weekend. Stayed at the MangoMar hotel, 80/night, cold AC, right next to the Cocal. All the action was at the Cocal. The Beatle bar and Monkey bar were closed. About a 5 to 1 ratio girls to guys. Talked with some chicas from Nicaragua, Honduras, DR, and CR. Some of the nicer ones had quite an attitude. One hot Dominican wanted to leave with me but I said it was too early, 10pm, so she walked away. Met a hot, black Tica and hit it off with her real good. We drank for about an hour then she took me to her place for some reefer. She quoted 150 but I offered 100 and she accepted. We headed back to my room to start the action and she wanted the money upfront. I balked and said I'd pay after. She countered half now and half after. I told her to hit the road. I sensed trouble when she became so demanding about cash upfront. Her jaw hit the floor when I told her to leave. She said I must be too drunk or too high. I said I was neither and she needed to leave. Escorted her out to the security guard who gave her back her cedula.
