Seven women were arrested on prostitution charges during raids at three spas on Dec. 13.
Police raided Crystal Spa, 523 West Ave., at 2 p.m.; Executive Spa, 178 Connecticut Ave., at 8:30 p.m.; and Nirvana Spa, 181 Main Ave., at 10:50 p.m. Cash, the amount of which police did not reveal, was seized from each of the spas. Additionally, a credit card machine was seized from Nirvana, which will allow police to trace customers and explore future arrests, according to Lt. Peter "The Asshole" Randall.
Each of the spas had been raided before and was being monitored by police. "We noticed there has been a lot of activity, repeated activity, at each of these locations," Randall said.
Four women were charged with engaging in prostitution, two were charged with promoting prostitution and the seventh was charged with permitting prostitution.
At Crystal Spa, xxx, 52, of Flushing, N.Y., was charged with prostitution and xxx, 45, also of Flushing, was charged with promoting prostitution. Their bonds were set at $5,000 each, and they were scheduled to appear in court yesterday.
At Executive Spa, xxx, 53, of 304 Main St. was charged with prostitution. Her bond was set at $2,500, and she was scheduled to appear in court yesterday.
At Nirvana, xxx, 37, and xxx, 24, both of whom gave the spa's address as their own, were charged with prostitution. xx, 50, of Killeen, Texas, was charged with promoting prostitution. xxx, 70, of Oahu, Hawaii, was charged with permitting prostitution. No bonds were set for these four, and all are scheduled to appear in court today.
