Depends where you stay. If you go to Sunshine hotel and stand with your back toward Sunshine and look across the street, you will see SEIBU Department store. Walk toward it and then down the street on the right. Then you will see an entrance with a bunch of steel bar which is designed to prevent bikes from entering. Turn left into the street and turn right at the
2nd alley. You will now see a bunch of BBS with girls sitting there.
There are other shops in other alley. You can do the girls on site(do not recommend) for 150rmb or you can take the girl back to your hotel room for 200rmb plus 20rmb for taxi back.
If you can speak Mandarin then you are in good shape.
PS, I am also Chinese-American who can speak Mandarin but can not read either. Good luck and have fun.

Yo can someone post a link to all the acronyms?

Earth girls are easy... and I've been proving it since that movie.

I will be in Shenzhen Luo Hu from 24 to 27 sept. Anyone who will be in shenzhen at that time we can arrange to meet up to hunt together. This will be my first time in Shenzhen and I guess it will be safer to hunt in group rather than alone.
One question: I am planning to stay a night over at the Chun zi Chen that allows overnight if you have 3 hours of massage. I am wondering if it is safe to leave cash and passport in the room (safe deposit box if any?) when you are out hunting?
Thanks.

Sustain <----- thx for the link!
Word of advice watch out for pick pockets. Some son of a bitch stole my brand new camera right out of my pockets. I think they work in groups. So be careful!
Maybe carry a decoy camera (toy camera) in the open? Might want to carry a decoy wallet too. I usually carry my bulk cash, credit cards, and passport in a lightweight ankle carrier. I keep about 300-500 yuan and maybe one credit card out in my pocket/wallet for spending.
Last year, my in-laws over there warned that in influx of people from outer provinces (i.e. muslim types) have been coming to the cities and causing an increase of pickpocketing.

Why would you need to carry all that stuff? I keep my passport, wallet and credit card locked in my room safe. There is very little use for credit card and passport. I carry a color copy of my passport and a few hundred rmb. If I find something expensive that I want to buy, I just go back to my room and get more money. This way, I will never lose any more money than a few hundred rmb. Unless you are a really big spender there is no reason why you can not survive on 800rmb per day. Just my opinion however I have been doing this in China for over 10 years and never had a problem.
When established in a good hotel yes, but how about when you're in transit between cities?

Here are few tips avoid pickpockets.
1. If somebody is keeping pace with you slow down and let the guy pass you.
2. Sometimes two or three guys crowd you on the street or near a restaurent, immediately put your hands in your pockets.
3. carry only local money in your pockets. if you carry camera openly you are advertising yourself.
4. It is a big hassle if you loose your passport and credit cards. Put it in a safe.
5. Muggings are not very common in Shenzhen anymore. That is why pickpocket is on the rise.
6. When you use the ATM and walk out watch everybody and be safe.

what is BBS? It is not on the list.

I think barber shop
