Went to Shanghai Hotel yesterday night for the first time. When I wanted to enter the elevator I got intercepted by a guy who told me that they moved to a different place. I was stupid enough to follow him and ended up in a KTV place. When I entered the room I realised that it was the usual scam - unfortunatelly too late. I couldn´t get out any more and had to pay 1,000 RMB for watermelon 2 drinks and the company of two ugly bitches. Great!

Figured out that calling for a massage in your room is the best way to go or if you want to be in unhygienic conditions drop into a local barber shop...

in this case, you should ask for reciept first then call police (110) for help. My friend did this before and get refund after police come.

just remind all of you here: if you get into the situation like paid too much like this, you absolutly can get help from police.

What a bunch of crap! All you had to do was to walk out and save yourself 1000RMb. What do you mean you couldn't get out anymore?

You know, I hear many story about being scammed, and I was very careful. but still it happened once to me. I just yelled at the guy and walked out. Nobody followed.

They only prey on weak people. What are they going to do if you walk out--call the police? I don't think so. Have some guts.

Stopped in to the sauna at close to 11pm, and they were closed for the night...

as few guys were coming out at that time.. As far as I know business as usual... but did not know they close so early.

I couldn't get out any more because the door was locked and 3 guys in the way. I have been in a couple of situations but this was serious shit. Too call the police is the worst choice you can make i think because they are running the business.

i have a rule when you go out ... never go out with more money then you can afford to loose or use and always hide a 100 rmb in your shoe or something for taxi to my hotel (underwear is not to prefer because they always get off ) and if you get in some problem ... just say you don't have more money and empty your pockets ... and they will let you go .... no hassle ....

Here is the address for the Shanghai Hotel:505 N. Wulumuji. It is the street just west of the Equatorial hotel.
The sauna is on the second floor. It is all of the second floor so you can't miss it.
Great place, great girls, great fun. I will return soon.
