Fuzhou, FUJIAN Visit

I will be going to Fuzhou in May will stay for a week then going back to Shanghai .
This is actually my first time going to China .

I need a lot of help ,I did not find any info on Fuzhou, Where to go ?
Any info on the hotels ? KTV, SAUNA.....

Fuzhou is nothing like Shanghai. I think finding the best things would take knowing a local Chinese friend. The places are there. You could try a couple of the larger hotels with saunas and see how far they go. One larger hotel is on a lake and I think called the Lakeside. I stayed there once but did not have a chance to check out things. I was seeing a girl in Fuzhou at the time. I did notice an apparent escort going to a room on a late night. Another major hotel is in the center of the city but I can't remember the name. Might have had either Grand or World in its name. I attended a wedding there on a visit. They should both be around 5 star hotels. I did see a section of the city with a lot of the red light barbershops during a drive but it seemed kind of far from the main part of the city. I had to play dumb. However, this was all a few years ago. There are KTV places in the city but never checked them out so don't know which are good.

Thank you for the info , just like i said I never went to china but I am reading what others write about and how good and easy things in china ,,,will definitely post my experience when I come back ...

Do you know if hotels have wifi int.access? is FUZHOU safe in general ? I will have an agent that will meet me at the airport then to the hotel (its a female agent that will handle all my business arrangements , meetings with manufactures and so forth ,I hope she is good looking though

That's is a good time of the year to be there. Later than that and it gets really hot and humid. Spring or fall is best.
Not sure about wi-fi but bring a CAT-5 cable just in case. My feeling about Fuzhou is that it is fairly safe but you do not see very many westerners there as compared to Shanghai. I'm Chinese-American so maybe I don't get targeted. Was there last year but had to behave. I was told that there are a lot of pickpockets there so take precautions. Also be very careful of non-Han Chinese types. Been told there is an influx of some from Muslim parts of China that do a lot of pickpocketing. They look different.

Fuzhou cuisine does have a lot of seafood available and I've been to some good local restaurants there (private dining room style). Have a local guide you. The best local restaurants only costs a fifth of what it would be in the US.

You might want to chance hiring an attractive escort to guide you (in addition to fun & games). I once looked at a website that I think was called ChinaEscorts.com. They did have a couple of listings for Fuzhou when I once looked. There are probably others. Maybe others on this forum can help. One advantage about smaller cities than Shanghai is that "prices" aren't inflated.
