Whoa! Google street view now includes Bangkok! This will be a great tool for trip planning. Unfortunately, it's a bit limited, I could walk up Sukh. Road but not up the side streets where the MPs are!

"The devil chooses your relations, thank the Gods we can choose our friends."
"An able man has many burdens."
Chinese proverbs.
"To our wives and sweethearts, and here is hoping that they never meet." An apt toast.

I'll be on LOS in July as well. First trip there in well, well over a year, and plan on doing some reporting as my stay evolves. Every time I pass by an asian girl in the city I can't help but think of my trip.

Friggin' psyched! Have a business trip to Asia, and guess what? By some amazing coincidence, I will be routing through BKK ....
Might be a little hard to explain to the boss, but Thai Air has no cancellation fees for changes, so that will be my excuse. Hope it flies.
The original plan was to go and get the business done, and then about a week of R&R in BKK. But from past experience, I knew I would be worthless and not able to concentrate on the business at hand, so I will stop in BKK for 36 hours and then head over business to get it out of my system. When business is concluded, back to BKK.
Although I get into town around midnight, I plan to have a lovely waiting for me at the hotel, might need a lady and a few drinks to get the edge off.
Damn, can't wait!!!

And then you are in BKK permanently? Wow. Should be interesting to see how you like it living there, too much of a good thing and all that.
Let's try and have a beer sometime. How about them Kings?

Dude....4 weeks from living there......bouncing off the walls is an understatement. Definitely understand the sentiment about too much of a good thing though....worried it will get a bit boring or old. Figure out how to live there and collect a western pay cheque was apparently the easy part.....living there and making it work may be a bit harder. That said....of all the problems to have I guess I can manage this one. :P
How long are you there til on the next trip? A beer would be great if you're around any time in late June. While I'm not sure about meeting all of the guys that post here....I am definitely keen to meet most of the folks who've been around a while like yourself.
I think they key will be staying busy with something other than mongering, and since you have a job, it sounds like you will do that. Another issue will be juggling all the pootang, you may need an excel spreadsheet to keep them all straight.
