I have yet to discover Dumai. A mongering friend of mine went there a couple of years ago.

There are two main mongering locations – one in town and the other situated in the outskirt. The former is located in a complex of shop houses situated on the way to the port. The later, known locally as BS, is situated about 5 km away from town.

BS is a mongering settlement accommodating more than 500 sex workers in more than 100 houses.

The best hotel in town is Wisata. For free lancers, you may find them at the disco nearby Wisata.

    Talking Dumai

Dumai a place where by big oil companies are located. Caltex, Chevron & Pertamina.

There is no customs station at Dumai Terminal, so just remember to get your passport stamp while on board the ferry. Is a 2.5 hours ferry ride, light snack and water will be provided free on board. Ferry ride from Malacca cost Rm 160 for a 2 way ticket.

Once out of the Ferry terminal be prepare for a swamp of touts come crashing down on you. They are super persistent insisting that you must take up their recommendations. Guys who have seen Touts from Batam, T.Balai or other pats of Indonesia, this place I reckon has the worst to offer. They will follow you all the way to the main road. As for police or port personal assistances ..... drop the idea. Just pick anyone of those touts and board their vehicle. Do negotiate the pricing right before boarding. We paid Rm 7 for the ride. Is only a short ride to town, 5 minutes. Don't be surprise if some touts also do follow you on board your chosen vehicle, just ignore them.

There are several hotels down town, prices range from RP 100k ~ RP300k. Do take your time to chose a hotel of your personal preferences. The driver who sends you to your hotel will wait patiently for you at your hotel lobby hoping to make more bucks from you. Choices is yours if you still want to render his services. Note : Negotiate pricing again. Do bring you own adaptor there cause most hotel is using 2 gan socket.

Town of Dumai has nothing much to offer.

Food wise is mainly on the spicy side. There are many road side stalls which has pretty good local specialty to offer. If Indonesia local delights is not your taste than there is a local CFC ( California Fried Chicken ) that offers fried chicken and burgers. Those seeking for Chinese food ..... drop the idea.

Dumai has no Villa nor Rukko nor Paya labu style of mongering venue. So guys who were expecting such ....... drop the idea.

Massage parlors there are a few, Rp 50k is when you have your massage done at the parlor. Asking for massage services done in you in room will set you back at Rp 100k per hour, any other special request would be made by you with the girls than. For ST is about - Rp 100 ~ Rp 200 ( excluding the massage pricing ). Any hanky panky has to be done within the allocated time frame of 1 hour or an extra Rp 100k will be levied upon you. If LT is what you sort after the pricing starts from Rp 500k till 800k. Note : prices stated were all inquired without drivers nor guides assistances. So this is the going rate for locals too. Why so expensive ........ mainly that place isn't a Sex Tourist drop off point. 2nd is very much a Stonge Muslim control area. 3rd With all those highly paid oil personal there and rich bird nest traders they definitely spoiled the market. Do take your time in visiting the massage parlors. Some of the parlors hold about 5 ~ 12 girls. The parlor which has the most beautiful girls is located on the 3rd floor building behind hotel wista.

Discos........ No more available. Formerly there was a Disco near Hotel Wista whereby lots of freelancers hang out but it has been forced closed down for a long time now.

Pubs ......there are only 2 there. One is located behind hotel Wista, it does have a live band. Girls available there ..... NOPES. Another is located in town, it is of open air concept. No live band here just some music playing on the background, be warn of the amount of blood thirsty mosquito there. Do put on long pants or apply some mosquito repellent before making your way there. Girls avail again .... Nopes except for the waitress. This place is very much frequent by Philipinos customers working in the many oil refineries there.

KTV.... there is only one available there, is known as the Horizona. Located again behind hotel Wista on the 2 level. Girls there are only average, did not see any stunner at all.

Sight seeing in Dumai .... nothing to attract visitors.

The air does carries a certain smell there, must have been due to the oil refineries there. So for those with Asthma do take extra precautions. Anyone seeking for a good and beautiful seaside there... drop the idea. With so much chemicals polluting the air and sea, you end up like a walking oil slope instead.

For returning from Dumai to Malacca, Port Dickson or Muar, the hotel in Dumai does provide services in seating confirmations. But there will be a Rm 9 levied upon for port tax.

Advise to mongers wanting to try this place out .... might as well head up north to Thailand if you are station from KL and above. Is definately not a CHEAP place to monger.

My journey starts from Dumai all the way to Pekan Baru, about 200+ km away. Along the way I shall tell you guys about more mongering venue their prices and such.

Thou 200km does not sound far from any Malaysian point of view but bear in mind this is Indonesia. The road is narrow, filled with big pot-holes, dusty and very dangerous to drive. Primary filled with Trucks ferrying, crude oil, plam oil, Timber and etc.... We had many close encounter of road accident along the way.

Just a rough guide it cost about Rp 750k a day for fuel, vehicle and driver. All that does not include the drivers lodging and food. Anyone attempting to relive our journey do neg. well with the driver, make absolutly sure they must not consume any form of alcoholic drinks during their duty with us. The drivers has a behaviour which will leave many with bad memories. They are not as well behave as those drivers hired in Jakatra or Surabaya.

    Cheers

    Bangkalis & Pekan Baru

    Still at Malacca jetty.

Bangkalis & Pekan Baru can also be access from here.

Bangkalis is not a place for mongers. Public transport is very much limited. Access to most place is by foot.

Timings of ferrry can sometimes be delayed due to the tide.

Ferry was pretty pack with passangers. So guys who travels with loads of baggages take note, they dump baggages on the deck of the ferry.
