Nong Natt - Porn illegal in Thailand?

I just read about the case of the actress 'Nong Natt' who was picked up by the Thai cops for acting in a porn film. I'd heard something about Porn being illegal in Thailand years ago. But I didn't realise this was still the case.

Does anyone know whats illegal and what is legal? Can you make pornographic photographic photographs or films under any circumstances? Say for private use or sale outside the country?

I thought that in the past I'd heard of porn films being made in Thailand. Was this all done behind the backs of the boys in brown.

Let's put it this way, I would not advise anybody to take porn mags or films into Thailand ---- I know one of our members has very strong feelings about this.
The funny thing is that they sell porn DVD's on Sukhumvit Road, if you buy these bear in mind they will almost certainly be confiscated if you get stopped by customs in your own country.

Porn is illegal. Showing a pair of tits on Thai TV is illegal. Showing smoking or a gun on Thai TV is illegal.
