    Girls in Ceiba

I had time to kill in La Ceiba on my last trip to Honduras and spent my nights wandering the area looking for street action. Best areas to find girls are on the both ends of 1 Calle east of the river. The middle of that street where new hotels are being built is dead. Right near the river are a couple of bars and a disco across the street where a lot of the girls hang at night. Head east to the end of 1 Calle and there are three bars/nightclubs clustered together all with girls just hanging around the doors. Usually 20 to 25 dollars for full service. The girls know where the cheap hotels are if you don't want to take them back to your place.

    Great Info / Question

Hey, thanks for that info!!! Are you going back to Honduras anytime? Sounds like you're well on your way to finding "what's what". I've always suspected that La Ceiba is the better bet compared to Tegu or SPS. I've heard that Puerto Cortes has some spots too, but it is more scattered and come-and-go.

My hope is that ppl will use the information you have posted wisely and if they go, NOT DRIVE THE PRICE UP !!!

Ok here's my question... I speak a little Spanish (very little)... how did you communicate with the ladies? Any particular words or phrases that are used?

    Girls in Ceiba

You do need some Spanish to communicate with the girls, at least know your numbers so you don't get overcharged. If you look interested, the girls will ask if you would like "servicio" (service) and if so if you want "completo" (complete) or not. Just tell them yes and let them take you to a hotel. If you look lost with numbers they'll count on their fingers to show their price. Suggest you at least learn the basics such asking her name, where she wants to go, and how much for the night. Just take a good phrase book with you and read from that if you have to. Unless you get to the islands, Spanish is a necessity on the north coast of Honduras.

    Leticia, Mirna, Yami

Used to spend alot of time in Ceiba, back in 1996-2000.
Some gals known by the gringo crew were Leticia, Mirna (contracted AIDS, I myself took here for her first blood test, probably in '97), and Yami. Mirna must be dead by now, but any details? Leti, ...sexy and intelligent, one of my favorite people, but she got in alotta trouble regularly (the little traviesa) - hoping some gringo took her in for good. Yami, ...should have seen her in her younger days, before she went angry whore type. She had the best ass, just the best.

    Any replies welcome.

What is the gringo scene in Ceiba these days?

    Gringo Scene

I hear the gringo scene in La Ceiba is a growing phenomenon... there is the Expatriates bar and restaurant which is very popular.

I think the gringo population from the islands is spilling over into La Ceiba as it's been relatively economically stable and much less crime compared to Tegu and SPS.

I'm definitely planning to go to the Festival there next month

I visited Roatan in 2005. And judging by the ex-pat population then, I'm not surprised that folks are spilling into La Ceiba. Heck, I might be one of them, too, soon.

I'm planning to visit La Ceiba in May/June to get a better lay of the land. I never got a chance to visit the city when I was in Roatan since I ended up bedding down comfortably in the West End, although it can be hit or miss. I got lucky for a week. The chica is in SPS now, so I'll visit her quick, then head to the beach.

Any suggestions regarding hotels, places to go, prices, etc., in La Ceiba would be appreciated.

    Angry Tony Montana's

when I was in La Ceiba in the late 90's I used to stay at the Partanon beach and met a girl (woman) who was the ex-wife of the american guy that opened the strip club in SPS called Tony Montanas, it was on the main street on the left heading into town. He was busted by his own security staff and I think he's probably still in jail. Back then La Ceiba was pretty fun. Then, after I had been gone about a week, the german guy that owned the bar right by the beach was shot dead so I just stopped going down there. This girl kept calling my house in the states for a couple of years trying to get me to send her money.
I've been trying to find someplace fun to go to but the list just keeps getting shorter and shorter. The reason I mention all of this is that I would like to go back to La Ceiba but don't want to run into this girl and start all that crap all over again. I don't remember her name but she was sort of like the "tia" of most of the local girls because she would teach them how to pole dance and how to get money out of the gringo's. She was a real piece of work.

A lot of ugly girls but very friendly people !

I was in La Ceiba about a year ago and spent there about a month. After the carnival I went back to the Dominican Republic. I have been to many places in the world where in special areas you can find hookers. I must say I have never been to a place where I have seen so many ugly hookers gathered on one spot like in the Zona Viva. Many big and fat African ladies, the rest of the girls not very attractive. But they are all very friendly. Beer is very cheap (appr. 1 USD a bottle) I have only seen ar the most five really nice looking ladies among them Leticia (probably the same one mentioned in another previous thread) Maybe nowadays things have changed although I doubt it. There are two open air bars right after you cross the bridge and opposit there is a disco with ladies but the music (mostly Country and Western style) is very loud. It is impossible to talk inthere. All the other discos along the Calle 1 were empty. There were also some gogo bars but they were also empty. It was quite boring to stay there a whole month but you have no other choice to have fun unless during the carnival days. It is easy to have a conversation with local people, some of them speak English (the Garifunas). There is no proper beach in the city, the one in La Ceiba is dirty, also the one in Tela. Trujillo has a beautiful beach but it is a 4 hours bus ride to reach this town. The only nice beach around La Ceiba you can go to on a bus within a reasonable time is Sambo Creek but the last bus leaves at around 4 p.m. For a small entrance fee (like 3 USD) you can go to the swimming pool in the hotel "Paris" right on the main square. After all I would say that it is O.K. to spend a few days in La Ceiba not more. You should go to the Zona Viva at around 11 p.m. not earlier. It is quite safe you can walk around on your own. But after a few days it gets boring because there is not much action except in the area in front and opposite the disco. "La Casona" (another disco not far away) is packed on Thursday nights (ladies night with free entrance) but mostly with ordinary people. During carnival a lot of normal Honduran people are also going to the Zona Viva and it is really packed. Two or theree nights before the carnival there is a separated carnival in the nearby area called "La Isla".
I can recommend the hotel "Catracho" in the barrio El Iman (just opposite the restaurant "Expatriates). Nice small air-conditioned rooms with TV and a small swimming pool on the roof for around 20 USD per night. The staff is also very friendly. There is no problem to take a girl with you to the room. Another reasonable hotel is "Iberia" although a little bit run down. Another recommendable hotel near the Zona Viva is "Paraiso".
If you have any suggestions or comments please let me know.

Thanks Dominicano. I'm reaching the conclusion that a return trip to Honduras might not be worth it, even though a direct flight from NYC puts me there in 3-plus hours.

When I was in Roatan two years ago, I experienced a similar lack of quality as well as quantity, though I lucked into a sweet chica (though over 30) after a couple days. But no complaints. I got into some real snorkeling and later wished I used some of my wasted time mongering for scuba diving.

Anyway, I've made four trips to the DR in the past year, mostly in Boca Chica. OK, I realize BC is basically Intro to Mongering 101, but I was happily entertained. I also was in Juan Dolio in February, visiting friends, and was pleasantly surprised by the drop in prices from BC. I'm eager to see Santiago and what the other side of the island has to offer. I'll be there in June, hopefully for more than one week this time.

    Leti, or Leticia in Ceiba

Dominicano, ...give me a writeup on Leticia. If she is the same gal I knew way back 1995-2000, then she must be late-20's by now. One of the better-lloking Ceibenas, but was a hell-raiser which got her a bad rap and such, but she was very intelligent, and always completely honest with me, and I spent alot of time with her. She did get a tattoo on her ass, as I recall.

What is her status? I'd like to see Ceiba and Leti once again.

I've found that the cheapest places to stay in LC are around the bus station. I have found that the little pension hotels have at least one nice room and a whole bunch of not nice rooms. What you need to do is just walk around and ask at all of the pension signs, make sure you look at the room before you agree to anything. A lot of the girls that are available in LC are not from LC. The first thing they do when they get off the bus is find someplace to stay close to the bus station in case they need to leave, why pay for a taxi to the bus when you can walk? I have stayed at a couple of "no name" pensions around the park (where the old train is) and have actually had cute young girls knock on my door and ask me if I wanted some. Some of the rooms weren't bad either. If you want poor girls then you have to go where they sleep and thats close to the bus station or on the plaza.
I think SPS sucks, way too dangerous and not worth the effort. almost every girl thats working in SPS has a pimp thats in the mara. Thats why most of the country girls go to LC.

    Leticia

The Leticia I am talking about has a tatoo on her ass and should be around 30. She has two kids. Her friends call her "la flaca" since she is very slim. She speaks some English. According to her she had an American boyfriend who was killed in a motor bike accident.
She is not honest since she told me a lot of lies. But I think what I stated above is true.

Thanks Dominicano, that's her. She has a new 2nd kid since my days... Glad she's still alive. She needed a good guy to take care for her back in about 2005. She's desparate, that's where her lies originate. BFT out.
