Newbie to Barranquilla/need all advise

I will be going to Barranquilla for the first time for 15 days next week (1/4/07). Can anyone give me some advise on i should stay in a hotel (name of the hotel) or try to rent a private apartment. Also any recommendation on where to hook up with girls/location. Any other suggestions for the newbie would be greatly appreciate. Thanks to all

I stayed at the Hotel Monterrey. Not fancy but clean, secure, cheap, chica friendly and with a great location just across from the Lusitania strip club. I believe I paid about $22 US a night. I loved Barranquilla am sure you will have a great time.

It all depends on where you are, and what you look like. If you are blond ,tall, blue eyed, Irish looking,easily spotted as a gringo, it would cost you more than if you were dark, Italian or Spanish looking that could pass as a local. That is how the game of P4P goes. Also, if you are at a fancy place , expect to pay in COL$150.000-200.000. A call girl would charge you around COL$75-100K, a street walker COL$20-45K. And yes dark and black girls are easily found. I hope that helps.

That is a stereotype, oh course you can find light skinned girls here
Medellin has more European looking women, tall, blond and very fair skinned. but I am sure there are dark girls there too.There is a town not far from BAQ called CAMPO DE LA CRUZ, there you can find a lot of white ,blond girls. Cheers,

Well....Yes and no. Many years ago, you would say: COSTEÑA meaning a girl from the coast, and you would immediately think about a dark or even a black girl. Nowadays all that has changed. Today one says: Here is Sofia Vergara from BAQ and nobody would be surprised to see that is fair skinned.
