    3 days in Bangkok....

    OK...all you experienced BKK mongers.....
I spend a couple of months a year in HK but never to Bangkok until January '07.
While I realize there is a WEALTH of information here re: hotels, bars, freelancers, bargirls, etc., etc.....could a few of you more experienced BKK mongers weigh in with your best advice for a BKK newbie who has but 3 days and nights there....
I do appreciate your time and advice and will definitely post my first time adventure reports.
[I don't need 5 star but 4 star would be great!]

Nana Plaza is ok, there's a hotel there too, good enough for 3 days I say unless you like luxury for some weird reason there is a 5 star down the road, Marriot I think.

Definitely hit Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy, the Soi 7 Biergarten (good late afternoon), Nana Hotel Disco. That's enough to keep you busy for 3 days.

    Thanks Jaybird and lowend....
I have an invite to Singapore (all expenses paid) or to Bangkok (my dime) ....I am really leaning toward BKK by myself.....The more I read about NP and SC....the more I am convinced BKK is going to be my choice....

Just 3 days. Stay at the JW Marriott -its at Soi 2 -just around the corner for Nana. And its on the bus route -meaning girls that take the bus home often walk that way -so you can pick up most hours of the night.

My advise -do not drink and just fuck your brains out day and night. You can sleep on the plane ride home -with a big smile.

Take in a traditional Thai massage as well. If you stay at the JW they have a great spa for this. A bit pricey but I will say their massage therapists are great!

Make sure you stop in somewhere -my favorite is Friends at Soi 8/10 -for a shave, mani/pedicure -haircut if you need it --nothing like 3 Thai women working on you all at once! I know I will be there my first day back!

And if you want to do siteseeing -then get over to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and Wat Arun (Temple at Dawn) for the cultural tour. Plus it gets you out of the Suk area for different look.

    OH-for shopping -Silom night market.

Ok -you may need a few more days!

    sounds good

Just a note, with only a few days make sure you learn the Sky Train, Subway and River boats as BKK rookies can spend a few days in taxis between the traffic snarll and long way around routes. here is a link with good mass transit stuff http://www.bangkokbob.net/
A good example as to the Royal Palace..Combine it with a visit to Khao San Road, and Pantip Plaza (computer junk, software, movies etc. Here is how to go there. Sky Train from Suk, change at Siam to Saphan Thaksin ( bridge at the endo of the line, take the River boat to stop 13 and a Tuk ( 5 min) to the Palace. Walk 5 min to Soi Khao San
( Of movie The Beach Fame) then Taxi almost a straight shot with good flow) to Pantip Plaza on New Petchaburi (just past the Sky Train).... Then you would walk back toward the Sky Train and catch it back to the J.W. that is three good stops and no bad cab rides no transfer needed as you are on the right line). If you want to see the big market featured on TV lots Sat or Sun go to Chatuchack (sp always nuts) via Sky Train...MO Chit Station, Exit North West side... If you want to pass that run you can shop at MBK http://www.mbk-center.com/en/index.asp Take the Sky Train to Siam, xfer to the other line and go to Nat'l Statium as there is a cause way direct to the MBK Center...
I fav of mine for a good scrub is Sanzanka...( sukhumvit Soi 22, go to Pheompong station onthe sky train and exi9t the same side as the JW Marriott sit. walk back topward the mMarriott for about a block to you get to the Dubliner Pub, go in for a drink and they give you direction, (5 min walk) It is a Korean style place where you get scrubbed on a table removing dead skin, salt scrub, nice wash, Up to a private massage room where hot towels are placed on your back side and a plastic cover to keep the heat in...They will walk on you back and give a good deep tissue massage. Filp you over for some muscle work and the the'll get you tuned on for the "happy ending" With the show of a nice tip before the massage you'll get to massage her a bit whilst she applies the "final touching"..At 1400 baht I prfer them to my beloved Marroitt, which I love..BTW, take the Exec floor and enjoy breakfast and eveniing cocktails with finger food. Afternoon pickups I recommend Morning Night bar on Soi 4...I like it there any hour...If you want to see Patpong and the clip joints use the Sky Traing to the Sala Daeng (Transfer at Siam)Station exit north side. Have a look at O'Reilys Irish Pub for some good freelancers.... If you want to see the Hark Rock Cafe that would be Siam Station on the Sky Train South Side exit, Look from the train platfom to see the big sign so you'll get a look at that place. BTW, the HRC is know for high end freelancers about 6pm....
Well...there is a good day or two of touring.....I insist that you take a lady to you room every night you are there...
INSIST!!!!!!!!!!! Hawe fun, not far behind you!

Consider the Majestic Grande, same location as Marriott at a fraction of the price, 3000 baht with Asiarooms.
You must see Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy ---- Angels Disco is OK for freelancers. If you end up alone at 1am head for Nana Car Park where freelancers hang out.
Try the Beergarden on Soi 7 just to say you have been there, many old and ugly girls in attendance.

    Majestic is NOT the J.W.

I HAD TO STAY THERE ONE NIGHT AS THE JW was oversold and I arrived at 2am (late)..they put me up there, cheaper but is not nearly the hotel. NICE, but not Same Same...It would be a good value as they built the place to be of good value for the prices..I didn't wander around, as I actually ate breakfast in the Ecex Lounge at the J.W. and they put my bags in my room when it was ready!
Good value for the cost....If you tell the girls you are at either hotle they try top raise the price....Don't tell them you stay "Soi Song" ( that would be soi two) as they think the hotels are same same....

Again, not the same location. With the J.W. you can step right out onto Sukhumvit whilst the other place you need to slip thur the Raja Hotel car park and hike down Soi Nana, also don't count on the discounters as often you are not able to book those great rates...In booking 5* hotels have a go at their web site a look for discount offers or even call their Int'l number and as about discount programs such as auto club or age discounts (shite Jimmy da Cabbie could stay at the J.W. for free on that one) you get something. Only Arabs and fools pay the top dollar but you get a deal more often from the hotel itself rather than hoping to find something other than "Sold Out" for the discounter when you actually try and book the room. As you can see this advice is from one who actually stays in 5*'s and not just cyber wanks dreams... Give the J.W. a try, it is far better, I assure you!
