Driving in the winter?

I'll have an opportunity to revisit the Netherlands during December - January.

Two positives for having a car:
1. Saving on the taxi transport after hours [e.g., when visiting the Showboat].
2. Visiting places other than in Amsterdam [specifically, I am considering driving to Kasteel Waterloo and even further to the DUS area for PT Dorsten and PT Mattman].

Negatives:
I live in California, not sure how difficult it is to drive in EU in the winter [It's about 120 miles to Waterloo, another 40 to DUS].

Any advice??

You’ll be fine, all the roads are gritted so they don’t ice over. If there is frost let the car warm up and de-ice before you set off and keep your distance from the car in front. Hire a car with sat-nav as road signs can be difficult to translate as you whiz past on the motorway. Being from Ca will help in one respect as the Netherlands, yes the whole country, turns into a massive traffic jam twice a day and central Amsterdam is almost impossible at any time. Also watch out for speed cameras and traffic cops, the speed limits are rigorously enforced.

I was thinking of buying a GPS nav system and getting the EU maps installed.
I don't plan on driving in AMS itself, but the idea is to save on the taxi fare from the Showboat at night when there is no bus service, plus having the flexibillity to stay at a cheaper [but less bublic-transportation accessible] place like Furmula 1 motel [44EU/night]. The taxi fare from the Showboat to Amsterdam is 30-35EU, and a weekly rate for a rental is slightly more than $200 [less than $30/day], so one self-drive per night would make it worth it. So, when in Amsterdam, I'll be driving in the periphery and off the rush hour time and place.
Add that to my desire to visit Kasteel Waterloo [any opinions??] which is 150 miles from AMS on the German border and the PartyTreffs in the DUS area [another 40 miles to DUS, and the two PTs are about 40 miles apart, and they are located in rather remote areas], and renting a car seems to make sense -- Even in traffic jams and relatively bad weather I think I should be able to make the 150 miles trip in about 4 hours, that should give me plenty time to settle at a hotel, rest a bit, and prepare for the night action. [I will be there for one purpose, and it's NOT sightseeing!] Then max 2 hours to PT Dorsten, etc. I am thinking of locating at the hotel Wan King recommended near Dorsten, and driving one [or two] day/s to Mettmann [sp?]. Then, I'll drive back to Amsterdam for another Thursday gang-bang at the Showboat.

What do you all think - is this doable?
Antother concern that I have is the intensity - I'm planning an 8-day trip, starting Th at the Showboat [gang-bang], maybe also Friday, then Sat at Waterloo [gang-bang], then I'll have Sun, Mon, and Tues for Dorsten & Mettmann, then Wed back to Waterloo [nude night], then Thu Showboat [GB], and on that next Friday they are supposed to have a mega GB at the Showboat. All sound very enticing, but I'm afraid my dick may fall off ... I'm thinking of asking my MD for some Viagra. My thinking is that on one hand I really enjoyed my last visit to the Showboat [nearly guaranteed sex, friendly and at 55EU unbeatable price], yet I'd also like to sample the DUS PTs [which Wan King so enthusiastically recommend]. - Again, any thoughts??

First off I have read posts by the illustrious Mr King on other boards and he seems a meticulous and informed player so his recommendations would be good enough for me. Your renting a car is sensible as you have found taxi fare can be arse-wateringly expensive and also a lot of the sex venues especially German FKKs etc are completely inaccessible without a car. 150 miles in 4hrs is a nice leisurely target, Dutch and German roads really are very good, even in winter. One point, I think you may be able to find better hotels in AMS than the formula 1 for only maybe 5 euro more, i usually like to get an en suite for 50E a night just a thought.
As to intensity well as I’ve said the distances are do-able so you don’t have to worry about driving fatigue and it’s not as if these places hold a gun to your head to make you perform, go for it I say. Hope you have a cracking time.
