There are 3 possibilities :-

Well, not sure that I agree that everything in Thailand's a fake but you've spent more time there than me.

This girl never claimed to be a virgin, i.e. she never came out and said "I'm a virgin, give me more money", it was her friend who was saying "first time, look after her, be nice to her" etc and then after the event when the girl was upset and bleeding she was saying that she never did it before. At no stage did the question of extra money for virginity come up so I don't think the girl knew what she had to bargain with.

No, I don't remember breaking her hymen and that could be the key here. I don't think she had one which is quite possible these days when most girls use tampons. That could be why she didn't try to 'sell' her virginity (assuming she'd even think of doing that). As I said from the outset, I firmly believe that this girl never had sex before (as opposed to her being a virgin, medically speaking).

Most likely. Vaginismus is not speciific for virginity as you can see. And most likely in this case it was not.

Also important to note that blood can mean spotting from a period, loss of virginity or blunt trauma to the vagina. VERY commonly its also a sign of an STD like gonorrhea or chlamydia usually.

So it could be that she had an STD leading to sever tenderness of her genitals, and subsequent penetration would be met with involuntary vaginismus to "guard" her. Or she could be a rape victim with full on vaginismus.

Both are probably more likely than virginity.
