Updated Trip Report: Cabo San Lucas Feb 2006

I was surprised not to see more info so here’s my drill down from a recent trip – this was just MY experience and I make no illusions that others could have completely opposite experiences…and still be accurate. But I have seen the very best in SE Asia so I feel like I have a fair yardstick for comparison. Anyway, forgive the poor spelling (like you care).

Here we go;

Thumbs Up: Amnesia – Newer place. Clean, high ceilings. Some very cute girls. They will jump right in your lap. They want $100 for 30 minutes in VIP room, you pay at a little desk before entering. Naked and you can touch just about anywhere but once it started getting “hot” she’s licking my ear and giving me the “Just $150 more and I suck your cock”. Needless to say I was a captive audience…but I wanted to save $ so I said yu just keep dancing and I’ll take care of myself. That apparently wasn’t ok. In short she said if peter comes out in any form or fashion its $150. So then I debate while she’s working it and I just went for it. So BJ with condom was another $150…and as far as BJWC goes it was very good. (I did not have a condom on me so she added $5 – so BYOC). Went back down and chilled for a while, good music mix, saw new girls etc. Came back a few nights later and same vibe.

Thumbs Up: Mermaids – Now combined with Splash there is a good selection of cute girls here. They seem playful, with you, and with each other, just has a laid back vibe to it. Found a stunner and wanted to take her to the condo, she said no way could she do it at Mermaids and said if it WAS to happen it would have to be after 3am when they close. Then she said it would have to be like $500. Now I’m sure you could work that down but who wants to come back at 3am. I really think the only way that system might work is if you happened to be with your dream girl at 2:59am and then it just segued right into her coming home with you. But again, I never did it. I did go for several $20 lappers and they were all very nice and tactile. As good as a lapper can get really without actually performing the deed.

Thumbs Down: Bolero, Placer & Lord Jims -- all owned by same guy (mafia?) Pushy touts out in front, some pretty., but all overpriced girls inside. Guys said 2 for 1 drinks and made us pay anyway. Sleazy furniture, cheesy neon paint & lighting. At Bolero they said $215 for the in-house private room for one hour, then like $400 to the girl. Crappy mexi-music too. Just a bad vibe all around. Lord Jims was so flippin’ dark you couldn’t see in front of you. And that’s great if you have a Mexican beauty in your lap but we were there for 30 minutes and no one even talked to us. Made it feel like we were not member in a private club. AND if that’s not all they try and charge a random(!) 22 dollars per dance, so even if you planned and brought US twenties you are still going to stuck couting pesos in the dark. Screw that.

Thumb Down: “20/20” – Heard great things about this but we saw only a few nasty girls that should have retired long ago, when we came by. They have a big playground slide and a lot of posters and say the place really goes off during Marlin Tournaments but at least on out trip it was weak.

Thumb in Dirty Ass: Toro Bravo If you want a sure thing this is it, You can get away for around $115-135 for FS in a “in-house” room. I did not, but my pal did. He reports she peed prior and wiped herself up with the bedsheet. Then there was a rapid knock at the door and it was her buddy givng her some tacos which she proceeded to eat. Once she was back from lala land he said she was very business like and not real open to variation. Basically the whole illusion that maybe you are doing the poor girl a favor with your money is eclipsed by the reality that she hates her job. Ultimately a depressing bar -- though the managers were very nice, and the overall lighting and ambience is better than 10 years ago. If you do think you like a girl beckon her over and buy her a $5 little pee-wee drink first, she’s half the money, and you can check out the grill work (teeth) first.

Note 1 : With ANY of these clubs you should never have to pay cover the first time. Just walk by the front door like you are going to walk right by…then when they grab you or yell over to you to get your attention just act indecisive, “Gee, I don’t know…I already spent a lot today” etc… and they’ll usually fold immediately, letting you for free. This little plan doesn’t work so well on a return trip as they know you want in. But anyway…in a vacation spot that’s only going up in price it’s a way to save $ and spend it on las chicas.

Note 2: Over the course of five days we probably had 7-8 different SUVs come by with 1-4 girls saying let’s go…what do you want etc…age and quality ranged from a 2 (s)he was actually a pre-op tranny) to a few 5-6 and 7’s - they will stop and talk to you but they get shifting and move on quickly. Doesn’t seem too safe. Over the same period we had only 2 SW and they were unappealing and sketchy. The guy selling silver and time shares all say they have girls too but who knows what that might lead to.

Note 3: Most hotels will not allow “guests” after dark. Even with good Spanish and bribes to the guard. Mar de Cortez used to the exception to this but no longer. If you want that option I suggest renting a condo from one of the many sites (vrbo.com etc). Our condo security guy basically said -- no problem at all, just be considerate of neighbors and don’t make a scene.

So there – I’ve certainly gotten a lot out of these boards and now I give something back. My only other add is that if you have been out mongering and want a kick-ass late night/early am taco -- check out “Las Paisas”…it’s about five blocks off the strip and any local will point you the way. They are open all night long, not many gringos, very very good adobo (pork) tacos…and it’s just what you’ll need to soak up the beer and tequila after the clubs close.

All in all Cabo is a fun, albiet pricy, place to chill, drink, fish and golf -- and if you think of the “scene” as just an added little bonus you won't go home dissatisfied. . . Enjoy!

Bummer about the Mar de Cortez. I was there about 3 years ago, and picked up a chica right in front of the hotel. Had no problem taking her to the room. Also, it was nice that Spalsh and Mermaids was right around the corner.

Hey Guys Can you update us on The Cheapie places in Cabo??? I might Be down there for one week in Baja California the first week of November. I need info on places where the locals hang out and info On Both Pro. And Amatuer Action for the locals. If Anyone can help me out on that then it would be very very cool for me. I need that info for sure So Come on guys post something new here as there has not been any good new info on Cabo in awhile... O.K. Then i am out of here. Hopefully someone responds here in July before the month is over. Come on Guys stop Lurking and Lets Get together and start Mongering cause this is really starting to suck here As i have seen not Much on Many good posts in Mexico.

I am changing my plans for a short trip to Cabo. My destinations must have acceptable service charges. I was even able to screw girls for US$20 an hour in Cuba. SE Asia is best. I just can't get a ticket at reasonable price with short notice or I'll be in SE Asia next week. I am hurting. I have to find something.
