    Unhappy Sacramento Sex Sting

Sex Sting Snares Eight Engaged In Online Prostitution
Written for the web by Jason Kobely, Internet News Producer

Stanislaus County Sheriff's detectives have arrested eight people in connection with a growing number of local prostitutes soliciting online.

Three women and five men were arrested in the sting operation targeting prostitutes and their customers who posted to an internet website, according to Stanislaus County Sheriff's officials.

Detective Ken Hedrick said he started the month-long investigation after noticing several local women advertising for prostitution online.

"Prostitution is alive and thriving on the Internet right now," Hedrick said.

Of the five men arrested for soliciting online sex, two were already registered as sex offenders for previous crimes. Hedrick said investigators will also pursue charges against websites who host prostitution ads.

I'm glad you asked, I thought I've been talking to myself for the last five years.

For starters, he could read the posting history and discover that I happen to have a bone to pick with the local DA in Sacramento, and I am extending an open invite to help me fight this insane bullshit! All I'm asking for is for people to post (or pm) any knowledge they may have regarding impending stings, or recent stings with detailed information like location, names of decoys, etc... all things that would make for an interesting expose.

I'm assuming that the "mongers" here would jump at this kind of opportunity. I'm doing all the work, I just need info feeded to me. That's all.

Exclamation City Plans Massive West Sacramento Cleanup

WEST SACRAMENTO — City officials in West Sacramento want the public’s input as they plan a major facelift of West Capitol Avenue.

“If they’re gonna do something, get in and do it,” said P.J. Siters, a West Sacramento resident.

The pressure is on to clean up what was once West Sacramento’s largest commercial street.

“You don’t fix fifty years of neglect with just one silver bullet,” said West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon.

City officials are stepping in with a 14-million dollar revitalization plan for West Sacramento.

“It’s about attracting new people here through housing and things like the community college and the library,” said Mayor Cabaldon.

Over the last fifty years, high crime and prostitution have taken over, abandoned lots and budget motels have littered the boulevard.

West Sacramento resident Christina Belardi says she has to watch her back every time she makes her way down West Capitol Avenue.

“You should just be able to walk up and down the street without problems, without guys stopping to pull you over,” said Belardi.

City officials are hoping that once heavy redevelopment begins next March, some business owners will decide to sell their property to private investors. West Wood Motel has been around for 27 years.

“If they want our property we are happy to sell as long as they pay us good price,” said Ken Patel, the owner of West Wood Motel.

The city is doing its part, working extra hard everyday to pick up trash and clean up the street, but the mayor believes this is not enough.

Apparently he’s not the only one. Residents like P.J. Siters are pushing for more police patrols to start eliminating prostitution.

“You can’t get rid of it, no matter what the city does. No, no matter what it does. They’re either gonna be on the sidewalks or the motels,” said Siters.
