    Off Season for Sex?

    Hi!

I'm thinking of going to Thailand and then Cambodia for a couple weeks in mid October.

I'm going strictly for the sex, but I know this is sort of the off season.... how is the selection of girls? Is it a waste of time because there aren't enough quality ones around?

I like the idea of there being fewer tourists around (less competition :-) but not at the expense of a decent selection of girls.

I lived in the Philippines and visited Angeles City at all times of year including the rainy / off season, and it didn't bother me too much since there were always enough girls around. But I'm not sure if it works the same in Thailand and Cambodia.

    Thanks!

You wont have a problem, sex is for all seasons!
There is always more girls than clients... fewer tourists in Cambodia

    Dear C. Monkey:

You are probably better off this season, especially in Thailand. Maybe some girls go back to Issan for the month, but there are very many there, which means more to choose from for you. I can almost guarantee it's a better visit, especially in Thailand, and especially in Pattaya.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna book my tickets right now for a 10 day trip. I'll probably spend a few days in Bangkok and the rest in Pattaya. Maybe I'll take my first trip to cambodia too, if the mood strikes me. it sounds like that can be a great mongering destination so I'd love to give it a try.

Just got my tickets for 12 days starting October 12. Still planning on some time in Bangkok and Pattaya..... I am a bit torn about Phnom Penh, but maybe you can help me decide.

Everything I have read about Cambodia sounds great so I would like to check it out. I am a bit worried about NGO's setting up traps for sex tourists. I read they even stake out places and try to get photos of people going in! I'm also worried that I'll have to be traipsing all over town from one brothel/bar/massage place to the other since it doesn't sound like there is one centralized scene anymore.

When I lived in the Philippines I really wanted to get up to cambodia, especially after reading that book "Off the rails in Phnom Penh". But I never had the extra money to make the trip and the security situation was a bit sketchy (this was around 1997). It sounded like Tool Kok and Svay Pak would be great destintations. They had a lot going on and you could just walk from one establishment to the other (like in Angeles City and Pattaya). But I understand that they don't really exist like they used to because of all the damn NGO's. Is what's left just individual establishements in Phnom Penh, or are there other places like TK and SP that still exist but he NGO's haven't invaded? I heard a small sex village opening around a bridge somewhere..... What I like about Angeles City and Pattaya is that the scene is pretty centralized. Is it like this in PP or is everything a moto ride away from eachother?

It sounds like the three best hotels to consider are Sakura, Flamingo and California 2. Do you guys think one is alot better than the other? I found an internet site ( hostelworld.com ) that books the Sakura for $14.00 a night (but i have a funny feeling they meant to quote it in Euros). I read that another poster got the Sakura for $30 a night but that included a girl a day from the massage place, which sounds intriguing. Heard that California 2 has a really helpful owner, but the rooms and establishement are a bit ratty. And it is on the riverfront, which don't think is very close to the sex places.

How about location? (I can't find an online map of the bar scene like there is for Pattaya, Bangkok and Angeels City). Is there a much better part of town to stay for the mongerer (like staying at the Nana Hotel in Bangkok or the Orchid in AC)? I'm not worried about sight seeing or anything like that, just convenient location and guest friendliness.
    Thanks for all your help!

Those were my concerns before i visited, but nothing came of them.
Never came across an NGO, although im sure this would only be a problem if you like them too young....
And the bars are a little distance from each other, but on the back of a moto they are so easy and quick to get to, he always waits for you, if you want, no problem.

I would only recommend going if you want a change... You need to be getting bored with Thailand etc before visiting PP, me thinks...

Bare in mind that mongering was not my main concern so I may have missed some places. I left PP on Sept 1st (1st trip to the country) after only 2 1/2 days there so this report is pretty current.

As far as it being spread out the answer is a definite YES when compared to Bangkok. Along the river front is the tightest grouping I saw, And even that was only a 1/2 dozen places spread out over several blocks. You can get a fairly decent FREE map of the city at the airport/hotel and it will list places to go. The adverts are pretty obvious.

I stayed at the Sakura and rank it well for the price ($17) for their mid level room. Place feels secure (for Cambodia) and it has a massage parlor on the second floor open til about midnight. Ladies are 3-6 on a scale of 1-10 and I think it was $5 an hour, Maybe less for the massage and whatever you negotiate with the lady. The room service was excelent and laundry service was included. Restraunt was also nice. The desk clerk would bring me over a cup of tea whenever I sat in the lobby for more than a minute. They do have a computer in the lobby with inet.

The one place that I actually tried was Sophies. It can be dificult to find as several of the Moto drivers were unfamiliar with its location. It's a bit unerving ariving there at 10PM as you need to go inside a rundown building then climb a set of stairs lighted by a 40 watt bulb and knock on a door, but once inside you will know you are ibn the right place.

Be warned, the ladies will have your zipper down and their lips working in less time then it takes you to say " Do you mind if I use a condom." It will cost about $5 US for a BBBJ.

There are several back rooms there for privacy and full sex if you wan't $10 US per girl. Mind you I didn't haggle (Sorry had allready seen how bad these people have it as i toured S19 and Killing fields as well as read a boook on the recent history. I didn't have the heart to haggle them down further

Flame me if you want folks.

The girls there are quite concientiouse in there work. When they talked me into going for seconds they spent well over an hour working on me and I swear they were not going to let me go until they had satisfied me. They were willing to go back to my hotel but I declined as I had some work to do.
The girls were a 5 and 6, thin, 5' 2" or so with B Cups.

    To hints.
    1) Bring along 2 passport photos (needed for your visa) saves time and money.

    2) They preffer american dollars over their own curency (In fact the government will ONLY take US$ for the exit fee from the airport) so bring lots of 1's and 5's.

    3) Beware of yourself. Although I am not as well seasoned as many of the members I have read here, PP does not strike me as being a place to go walking into unknown areas. Too many of the local young men have that predetor/gang member look.

Sorry that I ramble and didn't use spell check, its late and I wanted to get the info to you while I had a moment free. Hope this all helps.

    My experiences in PP

Go to PP! I can't wait to go back! I was there about a year. I stayed at the Sakura hotel as well. I won't go back there, because I think they don't like caucasian men, if your asian, they will like you. They picked me up at the airport and they weren't friendly from the moment they laid eyes on me. I'm in my lates 30s and fit. So I wasn't some fat guy, I'm actually medium build. I'd probably go with Walkabout hotel or Paris hotel. The girls at the Sakura hotel are in a fishtank, I picked some out and I didn't even get laid. I think the hotel manager told them not to. In fact, I asked to see the manager when I got there and I didn't find him for about a day or 2. The US Embassy is around the corner. So it's a safe area.

Use the moto when it's not raining. All day services should be cheap. If you prefer a taxi, I know a driver. Even though I used a taxi for a couple of days, I found it too much fun to be on the moto. I loved it!

Sophie's bar, those girls will be on you faster than you can imagine. As long as there are farangs in the bar, you'll have fun. I didn't stay very long the first time, but after you get over the fact that's it's a dump. It's very memorable, in a fun way.

I got some V-tab there and I wish they had in the States, because I would buy it every week! It's all natural and works great, take 2 tabs about an hour before you get it on with your girl.

The one thing I didn't do was try their magic pizza. I'll get once I'm there again.

The only place you'll find an ATM is in a mall.

It's freakin' hot there, so be prepared, most places don't have aircondition.

More girls work on the weekends. I'd go to Sharky's bar, mainly for their food and go to Martini's afterwords and dance with the girls I picked up at Sharky's. If you like pool, go to Sharky's.

If see a girl named Thai, a vietnamese girl, at Sharky's tell her I'm waiting for her call. She'll know what I'm talking about.

Vietnamese girls are much better than Khmer girls. But Khmer girls play pool, Vietnamese girls don't, by and large.

I'll be back there someday, let me know how your trip went.

    Chris

    off season

The gals don't have anywhere else to go, the less tourists the more available girls... so off-season rules

However, in Thailand you do get the busl-oads of new girls coming just before the high season; don't know about PP.

Problem with PP is the excess of ex-brothel gals in places like Martinis and Sharkys... and very high HIV rate.

Was there for a week and didn't actually indulge. The one real stunner I saw looked a bit underaged... and on drugs!

Prob have to spend a couple of months AND get lucky. Not an ideal short stay destination for easy sex (even Angels City is better)

I just want to say that if you expect something similar to the book "Off the rails in Phnom Penh" you will be disapointed. Things changed since. (Thanks god if you want my opinion.) Interesting book though.

If everything you read about Cambodia sounds great, I suggest you read my report about Cambodia and my other posts to get a different opinion.

But you should know by now, you must be back home. I hope you will make us a nice report !

Got back a couple weeks ago from Cambodia and had a great time. In fact I liked it so much, I'm going back in December! It is certainly not for everyone though, and I can understand why some people don't like it. Especially after seeing how Bangkok has changed into a sex Disneyland. It's all very organized and overrun with loads of amateur mongerers now. it's almost too much! It's lost a bit of it's charm for me.... I think that is why I enjoyed Cambodia so much. It still has a little bit of the wild west feel to it.

Anyway, I will post a full report here soon. give me a few days and I'll go into some detail.
